Lillah continued on, the bat over her shoulder. She passed some buildings and would occasionally peak into a window to make sure she wasn't being watched from within by anyone or anything. She came upon a small convenient store and readied her back as she quietly went in, hoping to find a meal. Most of the shelves had been cleared, but she found herself a jar of peanut butter and put it in her bad, exchanging it for a granola bar. As she left the small store, she chewed on the granola bar and continued on. Finding a place to stay was turning out to be harder than she had expected. Maybe I should've followed the gun shots, she thought, glancing back the way she came as she discarded the granola bar wrapper.
Finally, she found herself in front of a fence and her eyes looked it up and down. A zombie couldn't climb that--to get in or out. She licked her lips and eyed the building behind its lock. It was a school, and with the lock still in place, it might be a safe choice. Sighing, she slipped half the bat into her bag and climbed the fence. Her well toned arms and legs made the task easy as cake for the young woman, and--from the top of the fence--she allowed herself to drop into a crouch. Immediately, the bat was back in her hand as she approached the building. When she found the front door locked, she climbed in through an open window and looked around, bat ready. Slowly and on the alert, she began her exploration.
