I've been watching some of his videos on his youtube channel and damn...this guy clearly had something wrong with him.

Most of his videos are basically him whining about how shitty his life is despite the fact his family is rich (He's the Son of the Assistant Director of the Hunger Games, He's 22 and his car is pretty fucking good for his age) and compared to others his age he's got it amazingly. And yet his obsession with women drove him to murder, this one aspect of his life made him feel committing mass murder was actually a solution.

This guy clearly had the hugest ego I've ever seen (And I know people with huge egos, this guy just beats them by miles), the arrogance astounds me. He reminds me of one of those guys who has a serious case of Nice Guy Syndrome or has been listening to one too many Pick Up Artist Videos except taken to an absolute extreme. He literally thought just by existing he should get girls.

And you want to know what the worse part is, for any of you who go on Reddit apparently some of this guys videos have appeared on r/cringe a couple of days before this mass murder happened. He was just like all those other cringe worthy virgins who believe that their entire lives are defined by women, complain about their lack of women expecting them to just appear and are literally raised on material from r/redpill and Extreme Men's Rights, except this guy went on a rampage.

It almost makes me wonder how many of those people might be capable of such an act.

You know....I have this little voice in my head. Sometimes when I see a thread, I type a reply and am about to hit submit when this little voice come out an is like "Nick, not everyone thinks the way you do, not everyone has an absolutely horrible look on life the way you do. You probably shouldn't post that".

I am thankful for this voice.

Lots of people are capable of dropping the ball and over-reacting with gun. I'm surprised no-one saw the signs of psychopathy before the incident happened, especially if he's making videos and stuff.

He murdered six people, it's not something to joke about.

I was watching his Retribution video earlier but I couldn't finish it because I was going to throw up.

It's not sarcasm. Sarcasm is witty and accepted.

Saying you were the murderer of six innocent people is not.

First I've heard of him.

I could talk for ages upon ages about people like this, but the truth is that I pity him and those like him. People aren't born that way; they're made that way. Unfortunately, the internet's (and the world's) rampant, misplaced conviction puts these kinds of people at the butt of jokes and further feeds their sense of victimization. It's a similar case to some feminists (though I'd say there are many more kinds of feminists as opposed to "nice guys," a lot of them well adjusted), though one benefit of being a woman is the cultural movement to boost their self esteem and self image that exists at the moment. Men who are experiencing emotional pain in their lives unfortunately don't have anything of that kind; worst of all, the most accessible means of socializing in the world is home to the most toxic people and the most toxic subcultures, and that's exactly where he ran to vocalize his cries for help.

If he had more friends and a greater sense of community, he might have understood that there's more to life than companionship (and more to women than companionship). Conversely, if the world was a more cordial place, there wouldn't be problems to damage people in the first place, and suggesting the world be a better place suggests that nothing could be done. I think the tensions between men and women (or, more accurately, the tensions of lonely men and lonely women) will likely get worse before they get better.

Sarcasm is just saying something you don't mean trying to be funny.

PS I didn't know what that guy did, I am sorry. That was bad on my part.

K-97, dude, you need to get a job working for some national news outlet. Those ridiculous assumptions you made while ignoring what should really be talked about are just the kind of thing they love to trot out whenever they're covering a mass murderer.

K-97 said Most of his videos are basically him whining about how shitty his life is despite the fact his family is rich (He's the Son of the Assistant Director of the Hunger Games, He's 22 and his car is pretty fucking good for his age) and compared to others his age he's got it amazingly.

Seriously? You're pointing to his family's wealth and saying that he shouldn't have had any problems because he had money? Mental health issues don't happen to respect class boundaries. This shit should be obvious by now.

K-97 said And yet his obsession with women drove him to murder, this one aspect of his life made him feel committing mass murder was actually a solution.

This is just plain dumb. It wasn't his obsession with women that drove him to murder, it was his mental health problems that happened to also involve an obsession with women that drove him to do it. People don't go on fucking killing sprees just because they're sexually frustrated. This dude was very clearly not right in the head, and this would have been the case regardless of changes in his level of sexual activity. His particular madness happened to hinge upon that aspect of his life, but attributing everything to a symptom rather than the cause is ridiculous. The public dialogue about this guy should be about mental health issues and how poorly they're handled, not about how blue balls supposedly lead to murder.

K-97 said He reminds me of one of those guys who has a serious case of Nice Guy Syndrome or has been listening to one too many Pick Up Artist Videos except taken to an absolute extreme

Again, focusing on the symptom rather than the cause. This time you're associating him with a type of person and thus implying that they might also be dangerous people ready to snap and go on a killing spree at any moment because they're also sexually frustrated.

K-97 said He was just like all those other cringe worthy virgins who believe that their entire lives are defined by women, complain about their lack of women expecting them to just appear and are literally raised on material from r/redpill and Extreme Men's Rights, except this guy went on a rampage.

And here again, although you hedge around it at bit, you heavily imply that anyone who fits into that same broad category could be murderers just waiting for an opportunity to let loose. This kind of stupid generalization is rather harmful and distracts attention from what is actually important and should be talked about, specifically mental health issues and how they relate to this guy who was so far off the deep end that he went and killed people with a patently insane justification.

I'm not trying to be a dick to you K-97, you just happen to have presented the kind of stuff I hate about news coverage of mass murderers and such. It pisses me off how whenever something like this happens the things everyone focuses on are shit like what kind of music they listened to, whether or not they played video games, what popular websites they used, etc. That crap is not important at all. What's important is that yet another person slipped through the massive cracks in the system and never got help for whatever their mental health problems were, and it escalated to the point of harming others. People in general are just so damned stupid, and this is a very blatantly obvious expression of that stupidity, so I can't help but rail against it.

I'll end it there and keep the rant short, I guess.

That's horrible. Doesn't mean he was born that way, and as long as he wasn't born that way, that means he didn't have to be that way. As long as that's true, I'll call it a shame.

No matter how extreme what he believed was, they were all representative of the same problem; it's all slave morality. There was something that he couldn't have (which made him feel weak), and so he used his beliefs to put the blame elsewhere and paint himself as righteous to make him feel powerful again. I won't call him a good person or a victim, but I won't call him, or anyone, inherently evil. He was a broken, deformed person that didn't have to be that way. As a result, he took the lives of six likely perfectly normal, blameless people, which I'm guessing were women.

There's no one else but him to blame for the deaths of those six people (and the horrible things he said), but as messed up as he was, he couldn't have done it to himself.
