How the mighty have fallen.

SHIELD was one of the most highly organized organizations out there, dedicated to protecting the public from every form of threats there is. But what happens when that is brought down by another equally if not stronger organization? Well they fight back, while the remaining agents hide away and protect their families others join together to bring together the Avengers once again to bring peace back to the world that Hydra has taken over. Hydra has control of everything, people that work for them hide this fact. These people can be anyone from doctors, police officers, even politicians. You never know who is working for Hydra, this is why the good guys must remain hidden until their mission is complete.

Agent Anna Wilson has made it her duty to find out others like the original avengers to fight back, using technology that was taken before Hydra took over SHIELD's headquarters, she tracks down these special people. The base is hidden underground in an abandoned town on the out skirts of the city, she would make it her mission to find these people.

Meanwhile in the new Hydra HQ Loki the god of Mischief is being tortured, they want him on their side but the god wants to change. He cries out in anguish, no matter what they do he will not let them break him.

An extremely loud shriek caused the entire bank to look up from where they lay on the floor, waiting for the robbery to be over. A somehow louder shriek came from the open vault and a second later the man in the ski mask burst out, flailing his arms and sprinting for the door. Before he had a chance to get through, it slammed shut, and he crashed into it at full speed. The failed bank-robber bounced off and fell, landing in the arms of a woman in a denim jacket and a felt hat with cat ears. “Whoa, there, sweetheart, are you falling for me already?” She winked at him, and then flung him through a plate-glass window.

With a grin, she shot a thumbs-up over her shoulder at the people on the floor. “Ha ha, oops. Poor guy. Somebody wanna go scrape him off the pavement?” The woman snorted with laughter at her own wittiness and walked out, holding her sides.

That was the first time Cy Scheiffer had ever used her powers. She had first noticed she could move things a few weeks ago, when a book had floated into her hand when she’d looked at it. She had immediately thrown it at the wall and screamed. Now, as the super hero Psi, she routinely picked cars and criminals up just by thinking about it. Not the most original power out there, but bad ass in its own right. She was freaking telepathic! It was awesome.

Standing outside the bank beside a black SUV was Agent Wilson, she had found out about Cy. The older woman looked at her, "well well I didn't quite believe it until I saw it." She smiled, "how would you like to put those powers to good use. Say taking down an highly organized and very dangerous organization." Agent Wilson asked, "Hydra is getting stronger and more followers...How about we take a drive and I can explain more on the way."

Back at Hydra's base the torture finally stopped for now at least, "so are you going to join us or what?" One of the Hydra followers asked the god, who just looked up at them. "I've been through worse than this, and no I won't join you," Loki responded weakly. A sigh came from the Hydra agent, "lock him up in the prisons for now. He'll come around eventually."

Cy almost had a heart attack when the well-dressed woman approached her from the side, cutting easily into her path. “Whoa—lady, hey there… Wait, you know me?” She beetled her brows; she hadn’t really been doing much in the public eye. How had this woman figured her out so fast? Well, other than the heroics a minute earlier… “Were you just hanging around out here? Or were you looking for me specifically?”

Then the woman mentioned HYDRA.

Cy had heard about the company a few years back, when it had just been an internet rumor. Back then she’d run with a pretty tech-savvy crowd, and while she remained a proud nerd, she wasn’t as active as she used to be. But HYDRA had had some pretty bad stuff associated with it, and from what this woman was saying, it had gotten worse. “What’s HYDRA doing? What’s going on?” Cy glanced back at the bank. But, she had been wanting to get into some more serious hero work. Rolling her shoulders, she grinned at the woman in the suit. “Well, why the hell not. Lay it on me—let’s hear it.”

"Of course I know you, I work for SHIELD and as you know they know everything." Anna responded and led Cy into the van, "and to answer your question about HYDRA...They've taken over SHIELD, it is practically no more. Hydra is everywhere, there are people you wouldn't even suspect working for them. If we don't stop them before they take may take over the entire world, and cross off anyone that poses a threat to them. This means people like you, people who have unique qualities, that is if they don't try and get you to join them first." Anna explained as the car starting driving down the road.

"I'm not going to lie to you when I say this is dangerous, you'd be risking your life. But as of now we are horrible outnumber, outwitted and out gunned. Hydra took SHIELD down from under it's feet, there were Hydra agents posing as SHIELD agents." Anna shook her head and sighed, her phone ran and she answered it after a conversation she hung up. "We have an issue..Word has it they have the God of Mischief..Great.." She put her phone away and looked at Cy, "so..Have I scared you yet?"

Cy chewed her knuckles thoughtfully; HYDRA had taken down SHIELD. From what she knew of SHIELD, that was beyond bad—that was practically a doomsday scenario. “My unique abilities, huh?” She screwed up her eyes in thought. Admittedly, her powers were unique. She could manipulate the laws of physics, which often worked to her advantage, but most people mistook it for telekinesis. She considered the situation, the admittedly bad circumstances. If the slightest thing went wrong, Cy would get crushed, along with SHIELD.

She’d never felt heroic before. Dealing with idiots was easy, but HYDRA… HYDRA was in a completely different bracket. They were heavyweight champions to SHIELD’s apparent flyweight. Cy tucked her hair under her hat. “I’m in. What do we do?” The thrill of fear and excitement was twisted together until she couldn’t recognize one from the other. She was going to be a real super hero.

Agent Wilson took a call on her phone. Cy tried to listen in; what she heard didn’t make very much sense at all. A god of mischief? The only one she could think of was the Norse trickster, Loki… was it some kind of codename? Was there someone trapped in HYDRA headquarters? “Who is that? Wilson?” Then Wilson put the phone away and asked if she was scared. Cy raised her eyebrows. “Yes. No. Sort of. Who’s the god of mischief?”

"He's very powerful and very dangerous, his real name is Loki and he's the younger brother of veteran Avenger Thor." Anna explained, "if they have him on their side we are in big trouble. The guy is all kinds of crazy," she sighed and sat back in her chair. Anna had no idea that Loki didn't want any part of Hydra and that he was planning on escaping, "anyways what the remaining agents are trying to do is figure out a way to get into Hydra's main headquarters, which use to be SHIELD's and bring them down. It won't be easy, and people will get hurt or die."

They pulled into the abandoned town and drove into a tunnel where their main base was hidden from Hydra's sight, when the car turned off Anna walked out, "well this is home." She told Cy, there was a medical section, a section where there were computers set up for research, a small kitchen and an area not to far for sleeping. "It may not be homey, but it will keep us way from the bad guys." Anna led them through the large area, she explained everything and introduced Cy to the others.

Meanwhile back at Hydra's base, a few men opened Loki's cell but he made it look like he wasn't there with his magic. When they were caught off guard he took them out before making his escape through the maze of a prison. Eventually he made it out, however he wasn't sure where to go and how far he could run with how weak he was. All he knew was he had to get away from there and fast, so he just ran North. And when he was too weak to go on he passed out in the woods not far from where SHIELD's hideaway was.

Cy took off her hat and shook out short, curly black hair that ruffled over her ears and her green eyes. "So, are we going to go bust this dude out? I figure we should-- if HYDRA's torturing him, he might be amenable to our cause. And hey-- a god on our side? We could definitely use that, right?" She thought for a moment; then something that Anna had said clicked. "Hey, hey, wait-- if HYDRA's using the old SHIELD H.Q., do we have the schematics? We could look for a quick way in from there, and hit them from the ventilation shafts."

"Where'd you get the brat, Wilson?" A voice asked from the front seat. It was the driver, Arc. He was a big, heavy-set man, incredibly strong. He was one of the last SHIELD members; he'd joined young and had stayed in for years. Even when HYDRA had taken over, he'd gone into hiding, just so he could keep at his job. They were coming up on the new H.Q., a smaller version of the original, kept far away from the old.

"Is this...?" Cy cut off her own question and shut her mouth as they passed into a long, dark tunnel. Lights came on, blinding lights, and she shut her eyes against them. The SUV pulled farther into the secret base, eventually stopping on a large dias lit by floodlights. Arc leaned back to see Cy. "This is Headquarters. Welcome aboard, brat." He moved to ruffle her hair; Cy snapped playfully at him. He grinned. He liked this girl.

"Well the thing is, Hydra will be expecting us to use the schematics, that's why we have to take them down from the outside. Our top computer experts are working on hacking into their systems to shut them down for a moment while we get in and take them out, it's not easy since Hydra has some advanced security programs, more so than SHIELD." Anna sighed and sat down on a chair, "as for the god..Yeah it might be best to come up with a plan to free him, however I doubt he'll trust us." Anna than looked at Arc, "I'd be careful if I were you. I've seen her take out men with out even touching them," Anna grinned. She than perked up when she heard a lot of commotion, "what is going on?" She asked jumping to her feet.

Agents who were scoping the area found Loki, Anna ordered them to bring him to the medical wing. "Damn what did Hydra do to him, be careful when he wakes up. He may freak out when he sees a bunch of SHIELD agents," she warned and watched as the medics got to work cleaning and patching up the wounds. Anna looked up at the machines, Loki's pulse was a little weak. "Don't worry he's a god, he'll pull through. Though this time it may take a little while."

Loki slowly came to and even though he was weak he pushed back the medics, "get away from me. I don't need your help!" He shouted, "nor do I want it."

“This pipsqueak?” Arc asked, raising a skeptical eyebrow. “She looks like she weighs maybe a hundred, a hundred twenty soaking wet.” He had seen what Cy had done just as clearly as Anna had, but he was naturally playful and liked to test the waters with new recruits. He liked to know if he could joke around with them, since it was much better to find out before he tried anything and got set on fire, smashed, frosted, or otherwise. Cy’s powers were firmly in the ‘smashed’ category. Still the way she had played back, he figured she could take a joke and would probably dish it out as well as Arc did.

“We got wounded!” An agent yelled from an upper level, leaning over a railing to gesture for Anna’s attention. Elsewhere in the base, sirens had started to go off. The noise drew everyone’s attention, even Cy’s. She had been in the middle of gawking at the machinery and banks of computers, but Anna’s sudden brisk walk had surprised her enough that she scurried after her. They moved along a winding passage further into the base, passing in and out of the lights. At the end was a large room fitted out like a hospital, and someone was being worked on in the center of the commotion.

The man was lean with long, lank dark hair and an incredibly pale face—which may have been due to the amount of wounds he’d suffered. He’d been beaten badly, probably more than once, and he was dripping blood all over the surgical table. His pulse beat a rapid, quiet tattoo in the background as the medics swirled around him. Cy gathered he was the Loki Anna had mentioned. How had he escaped from HYDRA? In his condition, it couldn’t have been easy.

His eyes fluttered open. Loki tried wildly to sit up or get the medical team away; he apparently didn’t appreciate being cared for. Cy stepped forward and focused on him, gently but firmly pushing him flat on the table. “Relax, alright? You’re beat up pretty bad and you’re bleeding, so why not let them do their jobs? You might not need their help, but it’ll sure as hell make it easier to heal.”

"They are SHIELD, why should I trust them?" Loki replied with a slight growl in his weak voice, he sat up once again but dizziness swept over him and he laid back down. He was tired of fighting, he looked over at Anna she was clearly an agent. "Why didn't your agents just leave me to die in the woods? I mean after everything I've done, the right thing would have been to just leave me there. Nobody would have blamed you, not even my own family." A few tears rolled down his cheeks as he was talking.

"Somehow I doubt that your family would like us to have left you there, your brother still cares about you and if he found out we left you to die like you said he'd be more than upset." Anna explained, "so let the medics help you." Anna asked the medics to return to helping him, Loki stopped resisting their help. After they finished working on him Anna sat down next to him, "how did you escape? Especially in your condition?"

"Wasn't easy, and trust me I'm normally good at this sort of thing. I used whatever energy I had left and used my magic to escape, those Hydra mortals maybe good but I'm still better." A small smirk went across his face, "once they were distracted I took them out and ran wherever I could. Finally I passed out." He explained.

“Are you stupid?!” Cy exploded when Loki muttered that his family wouldn’t care if he died. “Your family would have been devastated! What’s wrong with you? What kinda idiot thinks their family doesn’t give a damn if they’re hurting or not?” She barely stopped herself from smacking him in the head, possibly more than once. Anybody who’d lost family would have been appalled—no matter what, family was family, and leaving somebody to die just didn’t fly. Frowning fiercely at him, Cy plopped down in a chair near Anna and crossed her arms.

Her own family was the world to her—Cy’s dad, Leon, was a security chief at a museum. Her mom Syl was a cook in a chain restaurant. The extended family was enormous, since both of Cy’s parents had four siblings, all of whom also had spouses and children. The Scheiffer clan stretched from one side of the US to the other, and where one was in trouble, there were likely three or four cousins nearby who were willing to help.

Agent Wilson managed to convince Loki to lie still so the medics could work. They were efficient and there were a lot of them. Within twenty minutes the God of Mischief was treated, bandaged, and well on the way to recovering from his wounds. Now that he was stable, Cy slapped him on his uninjured shoulder. She was still miffed he’d thought his family should leave him to his fate, and she let him know with a glare that could have turned steel to pudding. Returning to her chair, she folded her arms across her chest and looked at Agent Wilson. “Should we wait to ask about HYDRA?”

Wilson, apparently too curious to wait, inquired about the escape. Loki gave a bare-bones description of the jailbreak. After a moment of silence, Cy, gawking at him, spoke. “So you busted out, beaten to hell and half-dead, and ran here? Whaaaaaat?”

Loki laughed at her sudden outburst when it came to family, "one who's youngest son is adopted and has done some bad things. You know nothing of my family, of my life. What it was like to live in the shadows of your older brother, to have your father not treat you as an equal to said brother." Loki explained with anger clear in his voice, "sure maybe the only person that would truly care about me is my mother. Even than I have my doubts after what I've done." He sat up again, "I don't have to sit here and take this." Loki growled trying to get out of bed but was pushed back by Anna.

"Listen shut up for a moment, Cy didn't mean to upset you. But you were being stupid, family always cares about you no matter what. Sure they're upset about what you've done but never would they want you to suffer," Anna explained and was handed the medical chart to look at and she waited for Loki to answer Cy's question about running here.

Loki growled when he was pushed back, how dare these two mortals speak to him that way. "I didn't know that you were here, I just ran where ever and ended up in that woods." He explained and started coughing.

"I see, well you are safe now and are staying here until you recover. From your medical charts not only have you suffered from numerous injuries you also have pneumonia, not to mention malnutrition but something tells me that happened before Hydra." Anna explained looking at Loki who just looked at her saying nothing.

“You need to take better care of yourself,” Cy muttered angrily, blowing a fierce breath out through her nose. “And if you try to get up again I will sit on you.” The furrow between her brows had deepened considerably with her souring mood. She was definitely serious about the threat.

Loki quipped that he hadn’t known SHIELD’s headquarters were close enough for him to reach, let alone had known that they existed at all. He’d gotten lucky, then—he would have died alone in the wilderness, god or not, with the injuries Cy was reading off his chart. She was careful not to look like she was, but she was reading over Wilson’s shoulder. Broken ribs. Torn muscles. Multiple blunt force wounds. Cracked pelvis. Not to mention a healthy case of bronchial pneumonia that was causing his lungs to fill with mucus, and, to top everything off like a rotted cherry on the sundae from hell, he was underweight and malnourished.

Upon reading that, Cy dug around in the left breast pocket of her jacket, then checked the other. She produced a small wrapped bar that she held out to Loki without looking at him. “Here. It’s a fig bar. It’s good for you.” Cy was doing an excellent job of looking like she didn’t care if he took the food or not; she wished he would. He needed as many vitamins and calories as they could get into him in order to recover.

Loki lowered his eyes at her, "how dare you threaten me. Do you have any idea who I am, I'm a god." He growled his tone was also a bit threatening or as much as he could make it in his condition he than sighed deeply, "I'm sorry I know you are only trying to help. I'm not use to other people besides my mother and brother wanting to help me." When Cy handed him the bar he slowly took it being extra careful not to move to quickly for every quick move he made would be extra painful. Anna adjusted the hospital bed so he could sit up right, she was surprised that Loki even took the offered bar.

"I do have a few more questions, first of all why did you come to Earth in the first place, secondly how did you get so thin? Because Hydra didn't do that on their own, well they made it worse." Anna asked, "I thought you were a prince? Didn't you have servants and what not?"

"To answer your first question, I wanted to come here and prove I've changed, that I want to make up for the bad things I've done. To answer your second question, I've always been like this never really had much of an appetite." Loki shrugged as he opened the bar.

“Doesn’t look like you’re eating enough to sustain your weight,” Cy said, tucking her wayward hair behind her ears. He was gaunt, but with any luck a steady diet and some attention would fill him out. The fig bar was a good start; it was full of nuts and dried fruits suspended in a sweet fig paste and surrounded by a soft, cookie-like pastry crust. Whenever she didn’t have time to eat a real meal, Cy ate one of the bars, and it kept her going until she did had time. The supermarket sold bulk packages of them, thirty bars to a box. She made a mental note to buy a couple and bring them here.

Resting her hands in the pockets of her jacket, Cy leaned back, crossing her gangly legs. For her size, she had long legs, and it gave her whole body a loose, lanky appearance. Her nickname in high school had been various derivatives of “Gumby”. Apparently her walk reminded others of the Claymation character. It annoyed her immensely, and even when she’d discovered her powers years later she’d had to stop herself from trying them out on some of her old adversaries. Revenge would have been so sweet.

“You got any particular things you like? Seafood? Cheese?” Cy prodded; even if he had one single food he would eat, she could figure out the rest later. He needed to get up to a normal, healthy weight before he could really help anybody.

Anna nodded, "she is right, someone your height shouldn't be this skinny and you are looking really pale. Well that could be do to the torture you went through and being sick and all. You need to pack on some pounds if you are ever going to recover from these injuries, and illness."

Loki looked at them both, "you are starting to sound like my mother." He frowned, "and for your informations I've spent a lot of time on my own, I've gone weeks with out eating and survived. So it's really not a big deal, as for being pale I'm always like this." Loki added as he finished up the bar and sat back in the bed, everything hurt like hell and it made him feel sick. "And to answer your question about favourite foods, I'm really not picky. I could eat anything, well almost anything. Just not right now, even after I ate that bar I feel like I'm going to be sick. Though that could be due to the amount of pain I'm feeling, I have to be honest I've never been this hurt." Loki tried to take a deep breath but even that was a nuisance, it just made him cough even more.

Anna grabbed a pitcher of water and poured it into a glass handing it to him, "well you should try and eat something. Even if it's soup, we aren't going to force you to eat. Well at least not yet," she grinned.

With a snort, Cy tossed the fig bar wrapper in the trash can at the door of Loki’s room. Then she returned to her seat. She decided to let the ‘mother’ comment slide; he was letting them look after him, so he could say what he wanted. She shut her eyes for a moment and blew a breath out through her nose.

How long had those HYDRA creeps been at him? How long before that had he been sick? She didn’t want to think about it. If he couldn’t eat because of how hurt he was, they’d need to get some kind of nutrition into him. In order to be healthy enough to eat, he had to eat. It was maddening. She doubted he’d submit to a feeding tube—that was a little extreme—but a few small meals of light things like crackers might help build him back up. “You should probably sleep for a while, then we’ll bring you crackers or toast or whatever. God or no, having some nutrients in you will help you heal better faster.”

Loki attempted to breathe and was wracked with pain. The furrow between Cy’s brows deepened into a trench. Anna gave him a glass of water and Cy waited to see if he could actually hold it. He might not have the strength. If so, he was dangerously weak.

"You are all acting like I've never been beat up or sick before," Loki responded slowly taking the water from Anna which was a task , it hurt way to much to move but Loki like always fought back the pain. He refused to appear any more weak in front of the mortals, but Anna wasn't going to watch him struggle anymore she helped him take a drink. Loki just looked at her and sighed, "thanks..I swear I'm not normally like this, hell if I wasn't beat up and nearly dying I'd be taking your entire operation on." He grinned showing a hint of his normal self.

"Yeah, yeah we know..Cy is right you need to sleep, if you need anything just press that button and the medical staff will come and help." Anna told him and put the bed back into a laying position and gently covered him up with the blankets, "sleep well or at least try too." She spoke before leaving the room letting the god try and get some sleep, she sat down in the lounge room. "Well this has been quite the day.."

Cy was not generally known for her ability to let things go. She folded her arms and crossed her legs and shut her eyes, prepared to stay for however long it took until Loki was able to look after himself again. The set of her jaw was stubborn; nothing less than a missile to the face would make her voluntarily move. Even then, it would only be grudgingly, and she would grumble the whole way.

She slitted one eye open to make sure Loki was resting properly. She hadn’t been kidding about sitting on him if he didn’t cooperate. She wasn’t above doing it now.

Arc met Wilson in the other room and raised an eyebrow at the closed door. “So… I hear we’ve got Loki in there. Please tell me it’s not.” He’d dealt with Loki before (more than once) and the idea of the mischievous god in HIS h.q. was a combination of nerve-wracking and infuriating. He trusted Loki at SHIELD about as much as he trusted a lion in a pen full of sheep. He rubbed a hand across his bald head and sighed heavily, dropping into a chair beside Wilson. “Seriously. Tell me it’s not him so I can sleep tonight.”
