Personality: Kain is quiet, ruthless and stirring with anger. He has been on a vengeance streak for a long time and it has made him dark and furious with the human race. He has lost all empathy for them ever since Curdun Cay. He used to be quite a good kid before Curdun Cay. He was fascinated by the elements and their properties. The way they worked fascinated him and to this day he is still amazed by them but he has since been long lost from that path. He was once a good man, broken by Curdun Cay. What that place did to him made him into a killing machine hell-bent on revenge. He is a dark and desolated man that will stop at nothing to gain closure.
Biography: Kain was a simple boy who would be fascinated by the chemical arts. He would spend most of his lunches in the chemistry classrooms watching the many reactions of different elements. What fascinated him the most was the Halogens, especially Chlorine. He was amazed at how dangerous and useful Chlorine was. It can be used in harmless products like soaps and detergents but it can also be used as a weapon in Chlorine gas. It can be used in drinking water but it can also kill you. It was an element that can both improve life as well as take it away.
Since Kain was a quiet nerd he never had much friends and he would be quite distant from his parents even. He didn’t even have any brothers or sisters. It was just mainly him in his household. It wasn’t until he hit 15 that he discovered that he was a conduit. Most people would have been scared to find out that they were a “Bio-Terrorist” but Kain was amazed. He found out for the first time when he was getting a drink of water from the tap. He could almost feel connected to that piece of liquid, it was strange. When he moved his handed towards it, a small yellow-green gas came from it. It went up his arm and he seemed to have absorbed it. He was intrigued by this new found ability. He noticed that the gas he absorbed was Chlorine. He searched his cupboards for different chemicals and detergents containing Chlorine and he could just feel the Chlorine being absorbed from them. For the first time in his life, he felt like he could do anything.
For the first few days he really wanted to show everyone what he could do but he became feared to what they might do. A conduit walking around normally like everyone else was unheard of. They were taken away, never to be seen again. Due to this public fear, his buzz dropped and he started to become depressed and lonely. It wasn’t until he met Ellie. She was a new student that joined the school not long after Kain discovered his abilities. Kain ended up becoming partnered with her in Chemistry and they didn’t really talk much but they did realize they had similar interests. After class Kain realized he had left his notes back in the classroom but when he reached the class, all she found was Ellie manipulating the plants at the side of room; that were being used for student experiments. Ellie saw him and panicked. She was worried he would report her but instead he smiled. He realized he couldn’t have been the only one. From that day forth, they would be inseparable.
For a few months they would spend everyday in secret, showing off their abilities and having fun like regular teenagers. It was heaven for both of them. Ellie was a gentle girl who would manipulate the earth around her to grow beautiful flowers. Their time would be short-lived until one day the DUP showed up and took both of them away. It turns out they had access to every camera in America and they were accidentally spotted using their powers. The parents seemed to disowned Ellie and Kain but they made a promise to stick together in Curdun Cay and protect each other from the dangers that waited.
They were placed in separate rooms (Kain was given a special one made of metal, no plastic containing Chlorine in it whatsoever and he would gain un-purified natural water and not Chlorine-purified water) to keep away from each other but it didn’t stop them. Every chance they got they would speak to each other, holding each other. However, love wasn’t enough to keep them from the horrors of Curdun Cay. The Scientists there poked and prodded at them. They tried to push their powers, hurting them to get them more powerful. They tortured both of them and they made each other hear their screams. After three years, Ellie died. They tried to push her to her limit and more, she ended up using every strength in her body but she collapsed under the pressure and her heart stopped. They then opened her up like a dog to see the difference between a human and a conduit’s anatomy.
They knew that Kain loved her and to make his powers stronger, they would play her screams every night to him to feed his anger and hatred, to make his abilities more powerful than most conduits at Curdun Cay. Two years since Ellie’s death, the people of Curdun Cay were free thanks to a man named Delsin Rowe, bringing the DUP down in Seattle. Even with this newfound freedom, he was angry and alone. He had no one to share it with and he wanted revenge on those who killed her. Delsin let the Scientists go, his weak mercy let criminals go unpaid for their crimes but he wasn’t like Delsin. He wanted those men too pay and so far he has been on a vengeance spree in the past several years since the downfall of the DUP. He only has a few people left on his kill list and he will kill even conduits that get in his way.
Power: Chlorine Manipulation:- He can control Chlorine-Dominant compounds or Chlorine in general. He can absorb it and use it as a singular element or as a compound (As long as Chlorine is the dominant element). He can turn it into a gas or a liquid.
Power Abilities-:Acid Bullets:- He can turn the absorbed Chlorine into concentrated Hydrochloric acid bullets and fire it like a machine gun from his hand. The more he uses, the more he drains his Chlorine energy so he practically has set ammunition for it.
Chlorine Gas Generation:- He can generate mass amounts of Chlorine gas and from his hands to choke his enemies to death and to make them suffer as their lungs start filling up with the toxic gas.
Chlorine Gas Transportation:- Just Delsin Rowe did with his smoke powers, Kain can become Chlorine Gas to get around short distances, like over rooftops or into buildings through cracks and vents. He can even go through a building’s plumbing system and move with the Chlorine-purified water system to get around the building. He can go great distances as long as their Chlorine to absorb at the same time (like a cities water purifying system). When there is none, he uses his own supply and it’ll only take him a short distance. That’s why he uses the purifying system to travel around the city quicker. He is travelling with the water, absorbing the Chlorine out of it at the same time.
Chloroform Grenade:- If he ever needs to kill his enemies while they are incapacitated, then he fires a Chloroform bomb which makes them sleepy and distracted (if strong) or knocks them out straight away (if their weak).
Other: I’m not sure if there is a way to make him good again but I want to see how the story plays out for Kain.
