[OOC] [Genkai] Magical Drifting [Pascal]

[Genkai]

Those gifted with magical talents have been hunted down in one fantasy world, for several decades, during that time, a Healing user was taken to another world to hide. Twenty years later and the fantasy world is reaching rock bottom. With multiple wars, famine, poverty and drought abundant, it's time those who can change the world, step out of hiding. Evil has been ruling for far too long. Those with magic have been either killed or gone into hiding, in whatever world they feel safest in. Our story begins with a Spirit and Healing user paths, soon to be followed by someone with Elemental and someone with Mind magic. A plan has been made to use the four magicians to restore magic to the fantasy world, to give people a proper fighting chance. With magic being so rare, it's necessary to keep talents safe and ensure the blood is used for good, even if it means losing a little bit more.

Our magic users:

Elemental - Controls wind, fire, water, and earth as aforementioned
Mind - Able to read minds and move things with their mind
Spirit - Can see up and down the past/present/future as well as able to use light enchantments to trick people
Healing - Basic ability to heal injuries, use organic alchemy potions to help or hinder someone and able to transfer lifeforce from one person to another in dire situations

I will be playing a female Healer and a male Mind user.

You'll be playing a male Spirit and a female Elemental user.

In terms of age, I was thinking mid twenties to late twenties. I was assuming we'd use pictures, be them anime or real. I'm sort of a visual person, but it's best to be on the same page in terms of that sort of thing, even if it's just a quick reference. I can get a CS sheet for both up this weekend, we can probably start when things settle down for you.

Alright, I am back, and everything looks great! I am starting CS shortly. I am not intending to put a lot of background in the CS, so that we can learn more about the characters as we go. If you don't mind, I think I am going to have my male spirit mage having recently inherited his position, so he isn't the most familiar with the 'modern' world. He likely visited it every year or so, but didn't stay for long until he was an adult.

Name: Kieran Fernier
Age: 21
Magic: Spirit
Appearance: (In modern world)

Background: After his parents disappeared, Kieran ended up living with his two uncles. As he grew, he was introduced to the other world that to which they had access. He only visited a few times with his elder uncle, Ithric, when his uncles deemed that it was too dangerous for him to be around. When Kieran reached adulthood, Ithric passed away, and his other uncle left the home to mourn. Kieran thought about leaving, but he discovered the means that Ithric used to traverse the lands, and began to cross between the worlds. Kieran always dreamed of the future and the past, but he still struggles with interpreting his visions. He is naturally much better at sensing magic and magic users.

Name: Rhys Alderan
Age: 26
Magic: Elemental
Appearance:

Background: All mages were hunted in the great war, with every mage useful to the enemy for another reason. Elementals were blamed for the droughts, and when they were found by the hunters, they were forced to draw water from the ground for the enemy’s plants, and other such things. Rhys isn’t very good at controlling water. Having grown up in a time when mages were being hunted all of the time, she was never able to hone her ability. She ran away from home after causing a natural disaster, knowing that her former friends and family would come under scrutiny. She tried to stay away from towns, but, with little survival skills of her own, ended up working as a bar wench at a tavern in one of the larger cities, trying to stay hidden.

Name: Anabelle Oasis
Age: 24
Magic: Healer
Persona: Kind, generous, naive, and weak willed.
Biography:

She and her mother fled to the modern world when Ana was just four years old. Her mother was a Healer and did her best to cover up any outbursts that Ana had concerning her gift. Her mother was someone who sided with the evil that began to spread across the fantasy realm. She ran away with their daughter and promised to go back when it was safe. Growing up, Ana would often heal easily but never questioned it. Her mother would sometimes joke and say Ana was magical but it was taken in jest. Twenty years after adjusting to modern life, Anabelle has gotten a degree in Nursing and hopes to further her education, she works at a local hospital and still lives with mother who can sometimes be a bit protective.

Name: Devon Watson
Age: 22
Magic: Mind
Persona: Straight forward and to the point, reliable and charming.
Biography:

He was born right as the chaos descended upon the world. He crossed paths with Kieran a few times and both became friends, connecting on the basis that their world had to be saved somehow. Devon could sense Kieran was still getting a hold of his powers so they decided to part ways until they could make more progress together. Devon spends his time roaming the areas, looking for magicians who have hidden away. He once looked into Kieran's mind and saw blurry visions of the future but Devon has been unsuccessful in deciphering them. He holds onto the hope that there will be a way to put an end to the pointless bloodshed.

I got mine together, hopefully you're alright with what I did for Devon, as I think we wanted at least two of our roles to already know one another.

Should we kick this off with your guy and my girl in the modern world? Did you want my guy coming to the modern world to meet them as well?

I think it's good that they know each other. I think we should kick off with the modern setting. Perhaps just Anabelle and Kieran, if you don't mind taking it slower. We could have Devon and Rhys meet in the magic world if you want as well.

Though, I do love the idea of Kieran bringing Devon to the modern world at some point.

That's fine with me.

I figure I would have Devon sort of the one seeking out the various members, with some either "gut feeling" based on what he may have seen through Kieran's own muddled vision, or something like that. I'm fine with Kieran and Anabelle getting to know one another, would he have tracked Ana down with his powers?

I am thinking not yet. If he has encountered her, she wouldn't have stuck around necessarily. Would you like to start, with a bit of typical ana stuff, and then i can work in Kieran?

Oh, I was thinking that perhaps he was injured, and he goes to the other world to get help, because healers are so rare and because there isn't anywhere safe for him to get his wounds treated. Does that sound like a decent way for them to meet?

So you'll start Kieran in the fantasy world and then make him sort of stumble into the modern world? That's fine with me. I'll get a post up for us, not sure I should write for Devon yet or not, though he could probably cross paths with Rhys in some sort of bar, though we'll need to give them something to do. Perhaps some evil doers are looking for magicians and they end up saving the day?

That sounds good. We can always save Devon and Rhys for the second post. I am not a stickler for needing everyone in every post.
