So we do have a tabletop forum, right? And the two common ways of dice rolling is: 1. User rolls (honor based) and 2. DM rolls. Problem with 1 is it's honor based, might result with 'cheating', I guess. Problem with 2 is, it's not that popular with players.
Here's my idea: Have a 'Dice Roll' feature/code.
For example:
The example code for a dice roll is [dice] dice notation [/dice]
Example post:
I roll for a perception check : [dice] 2d6 [/dice]
The resulting post would be:
I roll for a perception check : 4, 5
This way, the forum itself can roll for the players and DM. There should be a way to authenticate whether the roll is legit or faked. I don't know the best way for this, but my idea is it should generate an image of some sort, for example, it will generate images of 4-face and 5-face of dice hosted by the forums (not by the roller/external image).
While I don't have that much experience playing table top rpgs, I think this will open possibilities, especially for the tabletop forum. Thank you for reading.
Please note that I did read the feature request list, but I think giving my own input on how it can be done will help more towards its realization than a simple suggestion.
