Gotham city, the terrifying home of Bats, Robins, clowns, and various other creatures that lie in the darkness

This will primarily be taking place in a mixed version between the Bronze and Modern ages, with Grayson as Nightwing, Barbara being the Oracle, Todd becoming the Red hood, Drake turning into the Red Robin, and Damian as the newest Robin. Bruce didn't get lost in time or something like that. All of these people make up the Bat Family.

Gotham City is a infested to the brim with criminals, a large majority of them hardly considered human. Why the people that live there do not move are far away as possible is a mystery to even the greatest detective, but maybe they stayed there because they were under the watch of The Batman, the caped crusader. He was one of the people in a small group that watched over Gotham City, and despite his accomplishments, he was only human.

Recently, several villains has risen from the shadows, proving too much to handle for even Batman and the others. As smart and as skilled as they were, they couldn't take on these new villains even in small groups. As much as he hated to admit it, he needed help.

He didn't want to call in the Justice League, and decided to find people that were in Gotham. There needed to be a team that could handle situations that were above him and the rest of the Bat Family. He didn't care if they were purely human or not, just as long as they would help in bringing justice to Gotham.

Quick question for GM:

Am I allowed to make two characters? I'm planning to make a main one named Black Hawk whom is a more physical, sarcastic, and street smart brawler sort of character (sort of like Jason Todd with less tendency to kill and daddy issues). He agrees not to break Batman's one rule but only if it doesn't get him killed.

and a mostly non fighter whom has a power suit that allowed him to radiate extremely hot fires from it. He's like Mr. Freeze except not dependent on heat and he despises getting into combat itself. Also he doesn't use guns the machine spews fire from it's hands and hoses on the arms and legs. He has a general distaste for outright killing people but has high intelligence and ingenuity when it comes to technology and he is extremely genre savvy when he has an idea of what is going on. On the flip side he has no experience in hand to hand combat and that he is old so he is past his prime. He has a partnership with Black Hawk but it's more like a baby sitting job because Black Hawk dislikes the dingy old coot but he listens to him most of the time so he doesn't end up in a ditch.

That's perfectly fine with me, and with the dynamic that you're planning on using only gives me more of a reason to support people using more than one character!

alright good to hear hopefully we get more people. I'm taking these guys from my idea for a villains roleplay and turning them into good guys. The old man was a lot more ruthless than he used to be and Black Hawk isn't sadistic so i'm looking forward to actually using them.

I'm interested, Is it ok If I play as The Question? I'm sure he's Gotham based and is easy to plug in lorewise. If its alright with everyone, ill be borrowing heavily from Rorsharch because the Question was the original inspiration anyway.

@MilitaryBeetle - Vic Sage has partnered with Batman & worked in Gotham, but his city of origin is actually Hub City. At least that's the way it is pre-New 52. (The original incarnation of The Question was actually the inspiration for Rorschach of the Watchmen!)
I prefer the JLU version myself.

But, of course, it's up to the GM whether you're allowed to play him or not.

I was thinking of the JLU version myself, he seemed willing to go down the dark road when no one else wanted to. He was about to strangle Lex Luthor with a tie, very Rorscarchesque. I haven't picked up anything from his own comics, and i won't be bringing any of the zen or mysticism/his relation with lady shiva.

Well it's a LOT less than I expected but it's something I suppose I got my characters up I hope they're ok.

Yeah, I know it's pretty bare, but I just wanted for it to be up. I've been working a lot on the overall plot, and I hadn't focused on the OOC until it was already too late at night.
