So, I was thinking about some RPs I've been a part of in the past that were centered on the characters being incarnations of the seven sins. Then I thought, what if I tweaked that and instead there were obtainable objects that were the incarnations of the seven sins, each with abilities that mirror the sins. And what if the wielders of these artifacts were called Sin Avatars? (No, I'm not thinking Avatar the Last Airbender, nor the blue skinned people Avatar. I just borrowed the word.) So, here are the different artifacts that I came up with. I would need six other RPer's at least, besides myself, to make this RP work. If I get enough interest, I can write up an OC and we can start making characters. ^_^ Oh, and sorry, but my character will probably be the Avatar of Pride. So, sorry if you guys got your hopes up for that. :P
Gauntlet that summons an all consuming vortex in the palm of it’s Avatar. Nothing ever returns from the vortex, and its power is strong enough to suck in a whole building at a time. The vortex is controlled by the will of the Avatar, but is the only Sin to be potentially harmful to its Avatar. If the Avatar activates the vortex while in it’s path, the Avatar will be consumed by Gluttony, leaving it without an Avatar and open to claim.
War Hammer that imbues the Avatar with immense strength and a complete resilience to pain, though damage to the body acts normally, the pain is non existent to the Avatar so long as he possesses Wrath.
Barbed Whip that grants virtual immortality in battle to it’s Avatar, who becomes completely unable to suffer lasting physical damage from any man or woman. This only applies to physical damage dealt by a mature man or woman, meaning those who are 13 years of age or older. Any wound sustained from a mature man or woman heals almost instantly. To clarify, this means that any other form of damage, such as damage done by accident or animals, act normally, as does damage done by children or the environment, so long as the damage was not directly influenced by a man or woman.
Curved dagger that allows it’s Avatar to jump from body to body, switching minds with the target. Envy follows the spirit of the Avatar, not the body it was left with. The mind of the person whose body is jumped into is transplanted into the former body inhabited by the Avatar of Envy. This is the only Sin artifact that can allow it’s user to obtain another Sin, if it is used to switch bodies with another Avatar. The exception to that is Pride. Neither the Avatar of Pride nor anyone who is under it's enthralling power can be taken over by the Avatar of Envy.
Short Sword that causes any earthly possessions of those who are defeated by it to be transferred into an endless storage space that is accessible only to the Avatar of Greed. No possessions obtained this way can be held or used by anyone other than the Avatar. Attempting such a thing causes the item to disappear back into the storage space, as well as killing the one who attempted it. If the Avatar of Greed is killed, all objects in the storage space reappear where they were taken from and the storage space is reset for use by the next Avatar.
Amulet that can be activated by the Avatar of Sloth, causing everything other than the Avatar to begin moving at half its normal speed, while the Avatar of Sloth moves at twice his or her normal speed. Effects of other Sins are not affected by this time delay, though other Avatars are.
Ring that causes anyone who is touched by the Avatar to lose their free will, becoming totally devoted to the Avatar until their deaths or the death of the Avatar. Additionally, those who are enthralled by Pride gain a single use illusory copy of Pride with the ability to enthrall one person to the Avatar of Pride. Those who are enthralled by a copy do not gain a copy themselves. Furthermore, the Avatar of Pride is completely immune to the effects of Sloth, Envy, Greed, or Gluttony. This is considered to be the most powerful of the Sin objects.
