I'm wondering how others feel on this issue. Differently could be for better or for worse.

Basically, I don't treat women with more or less respect then a man. For example, I wouldn't open a door for a woman if I wouldn't have done the same for a man. If I would be in a position where I would hit a man I would hit a woman just as easily because for me to hit someone it would obviously have to be a serious situation.

I'm wondering if this view is related to how I don't really do anything stereotypically masculine of feminine that I can think of. I would say my love of video games could be considered a trait that boys partake in more often, but I know even that stereotype is getting more and more false by the year. I don't feel like my own gender influences what I do at all, other then possibly how others view me. I do find women more attractive, however, so I guess there's that. If you expect me to be a macho man I'll certainly let you down. I wonder if it's low testosterone or what, although I'm not worried or wish I was different. I'm perfectly fine with myself like this and it's not like I'm questioning my gender, I just don't care.

I bring this up because I'm curious what others think. This isn't a debate to change people's mind or do personal attacks; just to see where other people might be coming from on what most people think. Is it morally right to treat other genders better as long as you don't treat the other one bad? Please feel free to have a friendly debate.

I wouldn't say gross (well, it depends on how they treat them differently). Some people I talk to tend to have the more traditional view of treating women with more respect and such, which is why I brought this up. They act as if men are tougher so can be roughed up a bit more. Their heart may be in the right place for wanting to treat women more delicately although I don't agree with their sentiment.

I treat women differently because they don't know how to shave without ending up in the ER.

-Between 2002 and 2010, the number of injuries increased fivefold.
-Of the cohort, 56.7 percent were women. The most at-risk group was women aged 19 to 28.
-Shaving razors were implicated in 83% of the injuries.
-Laceration was the most common type of injury (36.6 percent).
-The most common site of injury was the external female genitalia (36 percent).

It should be taken into account that they shave a whole lot more of their body and some men don't shave very much at all.

No matter what a person's gender, ethnicity, or religion happen to be, I treat them the exact same way: like annoyances that aren't worth my time, thus I avoid interaction if at all possible. Equality is a wonderful thing, no?

I only treat women better if I want to have sex with them. Seeing as I have a girlfriend, i treat everyone equally like shit.

My professor was just talking today about how I should teach my lessons differently to girls than to boys.
It angered me.

I chopped a chunk of skin off the side of my ankle once. Bled like crazy and scarred.

I would say since everyone learns differently to teach them according to how they learn, but individualized approaches are what tutors are paid for. Males and females do teach differently, but I don't see how teaching children differently is going to benefit them.

Everyone gets treated the same by me regardless of sex or not. Sex is just an added bonus for some.

There may be some research to prove that there's something to this suggestion, that different genders are wired differently as far as learning and comprehension goes. It doesn't make either gender better or worse, just different, which is what we already know.

Another odd thing that made me think on this subject was that one study said that 0% of males in the study felt like the woman should propose to the male and almost all women likewise agreed. I personally had no issue with it in the slightest is a woman proposed so I thought it odd that I'd be in the 0% of men who felt that way.

I totally get catering the lesson to individuals. But my professor was spouting nonsense like "boys like sports, so assign them lessons with sports examples. Girls prefer to learn about other females, do let them spend a lot of time on the suffrage movement."

He'd have already lost me at that point. I kind of like soccer...I guess...if it's on during the Olympics. I guess I enjoy some other Olympics events too. That's basically the extent of my like for sports.

I definitely treat my male and female friends differently. My personality tends to be more on the sarcastic and crude side with my guy friends and more toned down around my gal pals. Women compliment each other, men insult each other. I tend to be more accommodating to guys I like I.e. I'll grab them a drink or snack, guys I am not attracted to I tell them to get their own shit.

All depends
