Soooo, what happened to Mahz?

Lol wasn't this site all gung-ho let's rebuild after deleting it without notice? And now the latest update is from February, the site is primitive, and for me personally, I don't know if it's an isolated case, the site is running slower than ever.

So what happened to Mahz? Lol or whoever was in charge of development?

There have been much longer periods of (apparent) inactivity from Mahz in the past. I assure you, he hasn't forgotten about us.

For starters, he promised us WOTM managers that our Contest subforum was on the way not that long ago. So that's something.

I heard something about financial issues.

Mahz does have a life outside of the site like everyone else.
Best just to be patient and see what comes up. It'll be a suprise when it does

Lol no, no I totally understand having an outside life! I was just kind of left side glancing when all of the sudden, without notice that I know of, everything just halted :| after the last time this site shut down without any notice it's hard not to be skeptical I guess. I understand that there are a number of tractors that could be influencing his absence, I just wish there was a little more communication I suppose

Well, I mean, it's hard to not notice the sudden halt of development XD I'm sure there's a reason, I'm just so confused why it's so hard for people to communicate XD

Stuff is being done, but mahz has had business elsewhere. Simple as that. If you feel like you need to know more, I guess you could always become some stalker and try to pry into his personal life, but frankly... I'm not keen on giving out his personal situation to everyone that ask. XD Sorry!

I know, it seems like a crazy slow process of getting stuff taken care of, but try to bare with us here.

I think that was in reference to times when the site is down, etc.

Kind of hard to seek info out here when the issue in question is the inability to access the site.

I always liked Mahz, hell back when the old site shut down I snapped at those criticising Mahz bad enough I myself almost needed Admin intervention.
But I am honestly worried that this site isn't going to last. Not just from Mahz's lack of activity, but from how activity on the site in general seems to of been dropping rather than rising.

People always worry about "dropping inactivity" on this site. That was constant for both old Guild and new. People's claims of the site heading downhill never have any merit. :/

If anything, maybe it's true that periodic drops in activity happen. I mean, this is the start of the school year, after all - and activity is always highest during the summer or other times when people are out of school. But as for overall trends? The site is fine.

Y'all hombres need to remember that Mahz is currently in Mexico and I think he's moving from job/assignment to job/assignment there. Not exactly a stable situation to work from.

Very much this and it is my understanding that he hasn't done any improvements because if something breaks he might not be around to fix it. When he's more stable location-wise he plans to get back to prettying things up.

And I'll second this. I remember being alarmed back in 2010 when I joined because people were predicting the crash of the guild.
