Not including right now
He has skill in the pick pocketing
He has stolen before
System counts it as an offense
He would be marked as orange for a while

This would probably be minimum second offense, he would probably be marked orange for a longer period
If third or more, he would be permanently orange.

Also, it wouldn't have been a coin purse that was stolen, just simply some col would be added to your character, so it would be more likely that you would just reduce the col you had.

yeah but say it just turned orange again because he waited the amount of time needed before pulling off this pickpocket?

I forgot to ask what happens if a guild accepts an orange member?

I don't mind him turning orange after the offense

Not sure what happens to a guild when that happens.

Hum. There's a quest I've been toying with that can wipe orange markers, and can be done repeatedly

Apparently ... the quest is supposed to be valid only once, after that people are supposed to be permanently orange.

Hmmmm. I need like half an hour to relax and deal with sorting out my text books and then I can discuss better.

Whether or not someone should get the easy way out-I think it should demend on the crime. Killing, there should be no redemption at all.

There is no redemption with killing.
SAO WIkia said
An orange color cursor will gradually restore itself to a green color cursor within several hours for the first three infractions committed.[8] For the fourth infraction, the orange color cannot be removed unless the player performs a quest.[8] After the fifth infraction, a player's color cursor will remain permanently orange.[8]

Players with orange cursors are unable to enter villages or streets that have the «Area» effect on. If they try to get into these areas, they will be attacked by NPC guards until they leave the affected area.[9] In order for an orange player to move between floors, they must either walk from floor to floor or use teleportation or corridor crystals.[9]

Player Killers are granted permanent orange colors.[8] While in the linguistic these players are referred to as "Red" players due to their interference with clearing the game, their cursors are not actually red.

Kawahara Reki (Creator of SAO) said so in a Q & A.

killing yeah but im just a pick pocket for crying out loud. I cant enter a village then how am I supposed to get supplies for the higher floors? and what <<area>> effect are we talking about cause I will never be a red player yes I will steal (and if later on I pick the merchant profession) and sell it off for a discount price but I will never do anything that horrible.

Well, you can't keep stealing. Otherwise you become orange permanently and can't go into most towns.

<<Area>> effect is an almost complete safe zone. The only thing bad thing that can happen is sleep PK.
There will probably be town areas where monsters can't enter, but orange players can.

If you want to continue pick pocketing, either have a guild with green players who co-operate or be the type of person to sell to orange/red players.

Umichi would rather not engage with an orange player and probably suggest to the team not to either. Something along the lines of, "If we are staying on the front lines, we want to be trusted by the other groups on the front lines. Actively engaging and have connections to orange players might cause them to distrust us."
And it would make sense really.
Although I'd rather not have my second character engage with them either, but will if it becomes necessary for your character to have some interaction.

The bin is for a collection of our characters, and so that we can quickly check what the character's level and stats are and such.
And so that people don't do silly things like liferusher did, leveling from 6 to 8, before (probably by accident).

yes to show that I am not a bad person, this is a classic case of not judging a book by its cover. I just learn so I can get the best treasures possible
