Alessandro was not an easily startled man, he'd had half a dozen attempts on his life already and so the possibility of more was something he'd grown accustomed too, even still as the fae slipped silent and deadly, like a panther in the forest, in front of him and the ring and glint of steel echoed up to his ears the Prince found himself take an instinctual half a step backwards. His eyes couldn't follow the assassin's blade but they caught up to it as it embedded itself into the wood of the stand behind him. The fact that had nearly been him didn't disturb him, in some ways he wondered if it wouldn't have been better had it reached its target but the Prince turned his gaze back to his bodyguard.
The fae sprang like any nocturnal predator from that perch, Alessandro regained his composure quickly, showing the face of a man who truly wasn't phased by the attempt on his life, cool, calm and regal and his eyes never moving from his former Assassin as Rei plunged the dagger into the failed assassins back. He took no pleasure from what he witnessed, nor did he seem to grieve for the lost life, he watched passively as the entire thing came to a quick and sudden end.
It was only as the guards went to approach Rei that Alessandro grew tense, though he wasn't sure who he was more worried for, Rei or the guards should the paths cross. With a patent glare the men halted though and gave Rei enough time to slide back over to the Princes side and offer him the spoils from the Assassins body. Gently he takes it and offers Rei a small smile, "I'm glad your on my side." He utters back to the Assassin, had Rei truly wanted Alessandro dead he knew, full well, he would be, that night it seemed the fae hadn't quite made up his mind. Turning to the stand he pulled loose the dagger from the stand and held that and the contract in hand. "I shall look up the seal when we return, father will be sure to know what has happened already. He has spies and whisperers everywhere." Alessandro almost reached to wipe a small spot of blood from Rei's cheek but refrained and merely gestured, "You have a little blood, just there."
