The boy's face lights up with obvious delight as the other man accepts his idea. The server takes one look at the bright smile and rolls his eyes before walking off to get Amano his usual without being asked for it. 'I can't believe it! He actually accepted the idea, this is great! He even almost looks a bit pleased I think' His smile only grows wider at the prospect of travel. He's always wanted to see more of the world, and this seems to be his chance. 'Find something no one else has. That sounds hard, but it also sounds like a lot of fun. I know that's prolly not on his mind for this at the moment, but I hope we can have fun together. It's almost like I have a friend. . .' His thoughts trail off and he gets a thoughtful look on his face as he goes over funding options.

His father has always provided his children with an allowance once a month, and Amano's wish to travel extended to saving a little bit from each one so that he may be able to afford it if and when he decides to leave. 'I get my allowance in two days, and if I add all of it tot he travel fund we should have more and enough to get started. I guess I could take some stuff with to sell as we travel. I have some small expensive items I have received as gifts over the years and some are local specialties, so they would fetch higher prices in other towns. . . .' His smile returns and he looks up at his new companion. He flushes ever so slightly as he recalls thinking of him as a friend but shakes it off quickly.

'To him I am a job, and friendship should go both ways. I know it's naïve, but. . .' With a cough he nods. “Yes, I have enough for some traveling, and some items that will fetch a decent amount of cash in other towns. They are small so I can carry them easily.” He looks down at his arms as the server comes back and drops off a rather fragrant spiced tea. When he leaves Amano scoops up the cup and takes a long sip before setting it down on the saucer again. “Something nobody else has, huh? I wonder where we should start looking. . .” He ducks his head a bit and gives Illiendi a sheepish look. “But I suppose that's where you come in. I can't start looking without some idea what to look for, and you're the one with more experience here, heh. . .”

The expression on the boys face betrayed his thoughts, the demon though spoke nothing on the matter nor did he offer any interruption to what seemed to be deep and in depth thought. The demon instead took the time to first admirer the server and then take in the rest of the room, the patrons, the table settings, even the lay out of this little cafe, there was no real reason to his scrutiny but for his own personal amusement while his new master fell silent in thought. There were a lot of things they could do, a lot of things that he could just force into being and thus elevate his status considerably and while many other demons might do that this one in particular was not of the sort to deprive himself of an adventure.

When finally the boy spoke he spoke of funds and trinkets, all of which sounded plausible and easy enough to ship, when Amano's attention turned back to him he gave a small, half smile. "Oh I do do I?" He purred in that cold but scorching tone of his, "I guess I do. Our first move will be to procure a ship, we will not want anything large and cumbersome until you've started to make your fortune. I'm thinking a skipper might be the right size. Will you desire a cabin boy? We could man the boat with a skeleton crew, three people at the most. We're also going to want to make a public announcement about you leaving for unchartered waters. While few might take note of it when you return they will all remember."

illi picked up a salt shaker and turned it briefly one way then the other before placing it back down, "You're going to need supplies. Half your allowance should cover the boat and the food." He was a great haggler after all and he was quite capable of persuading people to let him have things at distance, "You'll need to pack, anything you want or will need you should bring with you including weapons, a knife at the very least, just in case. Is there anything else master?"

A shudder runs through his body as the other man paractically purrs. His sheepish smile shifts into a thoughtful smirk as he begins thinking about what Illiendi is saying. 'If we can run it with three people, I guess the less people the better. I mean, it's less money spent and more in the pockets for other things. A cabin boy would be our third person, but that would also mean that Illiendi intends to work the ship too' Rolling his eyes internally he shakes his head ever so slightly. 'I should not assume, I should ask, he's to be teaching me, and asking questions is the best way to learn' He nods when he mentions making an announcement about his leaving. “Makes sense. . .” He murmurs. 'A lot of the great explorers were not famous until they returned from their explorations, and the more people hear of them. . .'

Illiendi begins speaking again and Amano focuses on what he saying. Bringing his cup up for another sip he almost coughs when the man calls him 'Master'. A firm flush sets up in his cheeks and he looks Illiendi in the eyes. “So odd, I've grown up being called 'Young Master' and the like, but when you say that it feels completely different. . .” He stares for a few seconds before he realizes what he's doing and looks away. In an attempt to cover up his obviously flustered mind he coughs to call the attention of the server and points at his near empty cup. Keeping his eyes anywhere but on his companion he says, “I get another allowance in two days, so we should leave some time soon after that. I can pull out what I have saved thus far and you can take what you need.” He glances at Illiendi before looking away again.

“I would like to watch you work for a bit. I learn faster if I can see other people do something first, and if I am to be a businessman there's a lot I can learn by watch even so simple a task as haggling and negotiation.” Realizing he's rambling he smiles as the server drops off a fresh steaming cup and scoops up the old one. “A cabin boy, yes. . .And then we would need just two more? Or are we going to work the ship, because if that's the case I may want to start training now.” Looking back to Illiendi he smiles. “I have a blade at home, a rapier, and a small dagger. I am proficient with both. There was nothing else to do after classes, and all my brothers kinda had it in for me, so about four years ago I took up weapons training.”

Picking up the hot cup he blows gently on the fragrant drink before taking a small sip. “I don't have much to bring with me save for clothes, the trinkets, and my sketch pad.” His smile turns sad. “Not much I value in this world. I know it sounds conceited, but as long as I have me I'm content with not having much.” Puffing up slightly he adds, “But while I would trade my life for nothing in this world, a close second in value is the chance to be better than what anyone ever thought I would be!” After that little declarative he shrinks right back down and ducks his head. 'Man, that must have sounded stupid. I sounded like a kid there, I just know it. I need to stop being so childish' Bringing his cup back p he takes another sip.

Illiendi watches the other squirm as a bird watches a worm squirm before inevitably being caught up in his talons. A placid sort of stare, one not of malice, hate or love, with no regret or sorrow just with simply being, a simple inevitably as common as the rise and set of the sun each day. Illiendi’s eyes never wandered and their intense and yet distant gaze rested heavily on his charge, watching for every tiny reaction to his own words. Upon the word ‘Master’ there was a most entertaining reaction and as the boy ducked his eyes away the prince of hell whispered, “Oh but you liked it Master didn’t you? The power, the authority. As long as I serve you I will call no other Master and defer to no other authority.” A corner of the demon’s lips began to curl up faintly, the boy was always treated as such, a kid, a nuisance, a thing to humour with such insulting terms as ‘young master’. Never to be a real Master until fate handed him Illiendi on the end of a leash and now the boy had a taste of power, not just the blood that was in his pet’s veins but to have utter control of another creature.

Oh he could imagine the look on Amano’s fathers face when he saw the pair, on all those that had grown up with Amano thinking he would amount to nothing and that he’d be lucky if he didn’t trip and crack his head open over the cobbles. His brothers no doubt thinking him a burden, feeling embarrassed and sorry for their little brother for he’d inherit nothing and thus would be nothing. Foolish little humans, he wondered which one, father or brothers, would offer him the most money to abandon Amano and which would try and force him away. There would be a jealousy, perhaps a fear that came with Illiendi’s presence, his smart dressed suit, his other worldly yet handsome features. If nothing else they would covet Amano’s new pet simply because it was Amano’s and he so rarely had anything of his own. Oh yes, it would be awfully entertaining to watch their reactions.

“Two days gives us plenty of time.” He purred over folded fingers to the still squirming Amano, his cheek resting lightly on his folded fingertips. “Tonight we will return to your home, it would be good to see your family before your voyage and an idea to inform them of your intent. Even Lords gossip and if controlled gossip is a very lucrative weapon. Besides, I would see this family of yours before we leave.” See the people who had not so much as bothered to look for their missing family member when he had not returned home, such lax people that infested the surface of this world nowadays. “We shall set off from here and enquire immediately as to where the best place to purchase a ship will be and set to gathering rations and supplies for the journey.”

The boy spoke and his smile grew a little wider though no less warm and no less sharp and wicked. “I can teach you things but it would not be taken well for a servant to act a master, no our lessons will be kept private and simple and you will learn or fail quickly through trial and error. “ As the server drops off the second cup of tea the demons eyes briefly follow the boy before returning to Amano. “You misunderstand [/i]Master[/i] the Cabin boy is to run errands for you, you are a Lord and such work as ships work is below your station. Your servant shall work the ship, we shall have a gripper, a Captain if you will, to steer and navigate and we shall have a trusted man of his, if we acquire a small ship it is all we need and you can convince the Gripper no others will be needed. I will acquaint myself with nautical sailing tonight while the household sleeps.”

The knowledge of his training in blades was a small comfort, he could, at least, defend himself if such became a necessity, a rapier would end an air of gravitas and sophistication when the announcement was made, along with a fine suit it would paint a picture that would, one hoped, stick within one’s mind until their return. A dagger was a blade much preferred to keep concealed in ones cabin or on ones person. “The dagger you will keep hidden at all times, none is to even know you possess it before or during our voyage. Your rapier you will have sharpened, polished and a good sturdy scabbard made for it, you will wear it the day we depart for all to see, a statement piece that will keep your image fresh in their minds.”

At the latter speech from the boy the demon’s smile broke and he began to laugh, it was not a kind laugh and yet somehow it was not unkind either. It was a laugh that simply was and while short lived the demons laugh was like thunder and like fire and yet as soft as rabbit fur all at once. As soon as such a laugh was over the demons eyes levelled back upon the boy and an amused grin remained, lopsidedly, on his face. “Oh my Master.” His long slender fingers brushing beneath Amano’s chin and tilting his young master’s face up to his level, this thumb caressing against his jaw line, “We will indeed show them all.”

Lightly Illiedni used index finger to poke Amano’s nose and then leaned back, slipping from his chair to move to Amano’s side, blocking Amano from the little restraint and vice versa. He dropped his voice low and his chill and yet warm hands came to gently guide Amano as he spoke. “First lesson, you are a Lion not a mouse. Shoulders back –“ He gently pulled Amano’s shoulders back before placing a hand to his back to straighten that too. “-Back straight, chin up.” He slipped one hand beneath Amano’s chin until it was parallel to the ground and then gave a light flick to his chest. “Chest out but you’re not a canary, you’re not trying to look puffed up, just proud.” Brushing a strand of hair from Amano’s eyes he grinned and took a step back, offering his master a cotton handkerchief to wipe his face.

Amano, whose heart flutters violently every time the beast Illiendi calls him 'Master, swallows hard as he listens closely to the other. Even as he listens though he can not help his thoughts wandering here and there over various things. 'This is really happening. He's completely serious about serving me, and I just know that this is going to change my life forever. To think something as vile as other people's selfish ambitions would lead to me finding a way to rise above my birth place' His own words seem to have some secret meaning to the man across from him, and even as he speaks them he wonders just what the creature can glean from his simple, sheepish admissions. 'His smile looks less like the cat who got the cream and more like the dragon who slew his foe and got the horde. It is like speaking with something that I can not understand nor control. . . Except I can. I feel like I am at his whim, however he reminds me often that it is the other way around'

He nods once again about the ship arrangement, along with the crew. 'I should have known better. No. . .I should not think like that. I am learning, I should feel no shame in not knowing something. He did not make fun of me for not knowing, he simply corrected me. It's far more comforting that what my tutors have always done' As he speaks about his weapon training and Illiendi instructs him in the matter he keeps his focus solely on his companion. 'I have a back holster for the dagger, so concealing it should not be difficult. I always keep the rapier in top condition, however I will polish it tonight and hunt through the family storage for a worthy sheath. My training one will never do, if I am taking Illiendi right. If I can not find a good one in the home, it should not cost too much to purchase one when we are preparing tomorrow' His hand comes unconsciously up to his chest where the brand still tingles lightly in his flesh. This habit is one he falls into quickly, though it will take him a long time to notice.

When the man laughs, Amano's head ducks even lower, though even from the shortened vantage pint he can see an almost chill run through the crowd and the back chatter fades fro a moment as each person recovers from it. 'He really is amazing, and so strange. I am glad he is on my side' His eyes find Illiendi's even as he reaches forward to bring the boy's head up with long slender fingers. The word 'Master' once again sends a shudder through his chest, however he keeps his focus on the man in front of him. He lets his head be lifted, straitening up his slouched from slightly. He shiver lightly, the small flickers of pride igniting in his chest with each encouragement Illiendi gives him brings a semi confident smile to his lips. The soft caress of the man's thumb across his jaw causes the smile to falter for an instant however he quells the small shot of fear that had raced through him at the touch and takes a deep calming breath.

'With this being's help, one day I will stand on my own two feet' He suppresses a giggle when Illiendi pokes him in the nose, trying to act more like a grown man. However he feels himself tempted to cower again when the tall male stands. A shot of irrational panic lances through him as the rest of the patrons vanish from view behind the man. He keeps his eyes on Illiendi's, reminding himself over and over that Illiendi is his, and he should trust that safe feeling he gets around the guy. His heart jumps to his throat as he feels the man's hands on him however he relaxes and lets himself be molded by the firm, warm fingers. 'Why does my heart race so when he is so close? I do not feel afraid, I don't think. What is it then?' In that instant Illiendi touches his bare skin and the warmth send another shot through his system. He feels the faint urge to move closer to the male, instead though he listens carefully and pulls his chest a little higher.

Turning back to the creature, his eyes somehow warm as they look upon his hansom otherworldly face, and takes the proffered kerchief. More to hide the blush he can feel burning his cheeks and neck he brings the cloth to his face and wipes away the small sheen of sweat that had gathered there in the past few minutes along with the small bit of road dust from outside. 'I need to remain calm and learn quickly. Illiendi is the perfect example, as far as I can see, of what someone who expects to always succeed should appear. While I know I should not simply copy him, making my own way as to not become just a smaller version of him, it is a good place to start' Bringing the cloth down, the flush mostly gone from his cheeks, he runs it once across the back of his neck before downing the rest of his tea and standing. Illiendi, who had been standing close beside his chair, is now bare inches from the nervous male as he turns to look up into his eyes.

“You are right.” He says softly, a note of confidence in his voice he normally only had when defending another. “I am not a mouse, but I am also no lion as of yet.” He hands Illiendi the kerchief and adds ever so softly, “But perhaps I can learn one day to be something not so frightened to be holding the leash of a wild dragon.” With that he makes his way over to server and hands him the coin to pay for his drinks. The man looks at him for a few seconds, a rather odd expression on his face. However rather than responding Amano heads for the door of the establishment and walks out into the streets. Recalling what Illiendi had said about getting a ship he turns slightly to the right and begins heading towards the docks. His stride is a little off, not use to looking like one who can hold his own, but eventually he finds a comfortable pace. The crowd quickly thins out as he heads further and further from the middle of town. Slowing slightly so he can walk and talk more easily he looks over to Illiendi and smiles.

“Sorry for acting so suddenly. I just wanted to see if I could do it.” Fighting not to duck his head down he lets out a less than humorous laugh and turns his gaze back to the road in front of them. “I noticed a lot more people looking at me than usual. It was weird, but kinda made me feel good. It was nice being noticed.” Swallowing hard he looks once more to his mentor. “I've heard my father speaking with his fellow traders on occasion, and several of them get stock from overseas. They all agreed that the best place to find a crew in this town is a Tallian's down by the docks. It's sort of a bar, but it's surprisingly strict in it's 'no brawling' rule. I guess that's why the good captains go there. They don't have to worry about a flying body spilling their drinks and having to order another one.” He smirks lightly, watching a few of the local fisherman on the side of the road by a house arguing loudly over a torn net. “I went there once after hearing about a shipment being stolen by pirates. I wanted to hear stories about it, but I was under age and got tossed out quickly.” The smell of salty air grows thicker and the sound of seagulls becomes far more prominent as they turn a corner and the docks come into view.

The demon followed, barely blinking an eye as the lordling does his best to imitate the man he wants to be rather than the man his brothers and father insist he already is. He gives a slight smirk as the lord seems to startle the up until then non plussed server who had, perhaps even with a little contempt, seem less than pleasant when serving them in their booth. With all the manners one expects of a servant he both opens and holds the door for his Lord, allowing him first to cross and then stationing himself behind at least two steps and a half step to the right of Amano. He watches the lord as they walk through the streets through half closed eyes, keeping the 'demure' nature of a butler as one might expect of a highly paid and well bred servant.

When called a dragon the demon smirks, though briefly before returning to the somber face of an indentured servant and continues with his graceful steps that barely seem to make a sound on the cobbles as they pass through the streets of the city. Only a fool would not notice the change that posture alone has caused in the townsfolk, eyes now falling upon him rather than scorning him and mutters rippling through the street. Imagine the difference when he and his master through their departure party or their return when this mouse had been whipped into the very definition of a master. Though the demon remained quiet, walking with his own posture straight as a pole and with head held high but not at a level with a lords.

When finally Amano broke the silence the demon gave a slight, bird like tilt of his head and a brief grin, "You did well Master, there were indeed a good many more people looking at you than when we walked onto the streets first. This time your demeanor demanded you be noticed rather than wished you into oblivion." It always struck him how odd it was that so many humans didn't' seem to notice the importance of such simple things as posture, gestures, tone, even mental attitude and how they all worked to paint a better picture of a man or a boy. Commoners could switch places with Kings -and had- with little more than soap and some common etiquette lessons and yet people seemed to think it was so very hard. It had been no accident he had not been seen when fleeing the scene of his summoning, his posture had all but made him invisible despite the fact he was carrying an unconscious boy and yet now, he knew he could take his pick of most of the common women and likely some of the highborn too, if he so desired it.

At the mention of ships the demons eyes cast about the dismal bay, for some reason big cities seemed to have such a depressive atmosphere to their docks. As if all the dank, filth and misery sunk into these little pockets, usually one could find anything they desired here from illegal goods to whores all for varying amounts of coin depending how good ones skill with their tongue was. "It sounds like as good a place as any to start, how do you wish to approach this my master. Shall we split up to find the best Captain at the lowest price or would you prefer to work together which undoubtedly will make such work slower but likely seem more earnest and believable."

Still feeling a faint hum of joy from the creature's praise Amano doesn't reply right away. Instead he lets his eyes travel over the docks and surrounding buildings. As a child he had spent some time wandering around with a small group of children, exploring the area like some foreign country. At the time they young nobles had little care what anyone thought of them, so when they returned each evening, covered in dirt and filth, and smelling strongly of fish, they felt almost honored when the housekeepers and the like got upset at the mess. His head swivels slowly this way and that, recalling “the great fishery caper”, and “fisherman's last stand”. He had caused quite a bit of trouble as a child for the dock workers, however he was never the one blamed. The leader of the little group held most of the responsibility, and was the one most caught and punished.

'Even at a young age, none have really thought enough of me to take note of my deeds, whether they be good or bad. I was always at the back, always off to the side' His eyes travel once more to his companion and he feels another trickling rush of pride. 'We will change that however' Deep in his heart Amano feels no arrogance in his thinking, not believing his thoughts those of someone better than another. His pride is purely for his own sake, and for the thought of how willing he is to do that hard work. This humble pride shows in his eyes as he at last addresses the man's question, a faint warmth in his innards from being called master once more.

“I believe it best if we go together. I have seen quite a bit of bartering done by my father, and he is highly regarded in the matter so I may be able to help in that respect. However,” he looks back towards the docks, “I will take your advice when it comes to the actual selections. I'm. . .Not a people person per se, so I'm not sure I would be a good judge of such things. . .” He is careful not to drop his gaze as his instincts tell him to, but instead keeps his gaze steady with Illiendi's.

So it was decided and Illiendi made no show of disagreement, in fact he offered a gentle nod of affirmation to his Masters decision, such things were now solely up to Amano and whether good or bad such decisions were his alone. That being said such a decision was relatively easy and hardly much to be concerned over, alone or together they would cover the same ground and perhaps generate the first of their rumours needed to spread to gather the skeptics and doubters and the most important of all, the dreamers. It would be the first two that would spread the news and dismiss it but the smaller third group would breathe life into it, they would add the 'what if' to their tale and utter the news with grins and triumph turning the former two groups slowly into the third. "As you wish it Master." Illiendi said, watching the boys eyes waver and almost break from contact with his own and after holding that gaze for several long seconds Illiendi did the boy the favour of looking towards the door.

"This is the first impression, you are looking for a sloop, one capable of carrying several crates of raw transport, the pay will be good compared to what they earn here and the adventure grand. We want just a captain, a ship and a first mate, no one else no matter who or what they try to haggle. We set sail for Ashai in the east, that, if nothing else should get the blood of the men eager." Ashai being one of the few small eastern isles where 'anything goes' still applied but strict and brutal law was enforced on murder or theft, a weary seadogs dream with brothels and opiate dens. "I will very much be behind you unless you desire my assistance, if you do gesture to your tattoo though do not make it look out of place and above all keep your head my master."

With his words and information parted Illiendi strode towards the inn door and as one might expect of a high class servant he produced a white linen handkerchief to grip the handle and slide open the door into the establishment.

Amano lets out a nearly inaudible shuddering sigh as Illiendi finally looks away, but his moment of calm is short lived. As the beast begins speaking again his focus becomes sharp, and he carefully adjusts himself so he is standing the way Illiendi had shown him. He is careful to log away all the information he's suppose to remember, and after a few calming breaths, he feels ready. 'I can do this. He's right here with me, and I have no doubts that I can at least to this much' He manages to keep the blush from his cheeks at once more being called master, the churning in his stomach a good distraction from the rush the word from the man's lips sends through him each time. Ha can not however hold back a little smile at the sight of the door being opened with a handkerchief.

'Feeling really fancy now' his mind echoes but he brushes that aside and moves forward with as much courage as he can muster. The inside is far quieter than most of the seaside pub, or most bar joints in general, but there is still a high level of jolly spirits and harsh words being slung back and forth across the crowded room. Only a few people glance his way as he enters, for which he is grateful. He steps carefully around a few men at a table by the door, his eyes darting about the room looking for a good place to start. 'So many men and woman, how am I suppose to find an information dealer in this mess. Most of Father's dealers come strait to the house. I wonder if he ever. . . .' His thoughts trail off and a true but slightly wicked smile comes to his lips. 'Perfect'

With the practiced grace of one well versed in avoiding being run over Amano makes his way over to the bar where a middle-aged man with a long well kept but bush beard stands, calling for a mug of ale. He coughs loud enough to catch the man's attention and watches amused as the heavyset male looks around for the source of the noise. The robust man is a good head taller than Amano, and at least twice as wide, and from the red in his cheeks more than a little buzzed. When at last his eyes come to rest on the youngest son of one of his most prominent partners he lats out a little laugh. “Well now, what you be doing in here young master? On an errand for your father?” He does not even notice Illiendi's presence, the sight of Amano in such a place holding his attention.

Amano smiles and shakes his head slightly. “No Russ, I am here on my own business.” The man blinks, the lack of a “mister” before his name catching his attention almost more than the rest of the sentence. Before he can respond however Amano musters up his courage and plunges on. “I am here looking for a captain for a venture I am undertaking. I know you do good work for my father, he says so often enough, so I thought you may be able to point me in the right direction.” His voice is steady and he feels a bit of pride when Russ seems to sober up a bit.

A new gleam comes to the large man's eye at the proposition of a bit of business and for the first time he spares Illiendi a glance. As with many people he seems caught by the sight of such a foreign looking man, however his attention soon returns to the young man beside him. “A captain, eh? What kind of ship and where to. I know many a good captain who will not travel to certain ports, and several ships that just couldn't make it.” His manner is switching quickly to all business, the ale brought him by the tender sitting forgotten behind him. Under most circumstances Russ would not even consider dealing with the youngest son of any family, however something about the boy speaks to his seriousness in this matter.

His smile widens a bit, glad Illiendi had provided him the answer to this question already. That and Russ seems to be taking him seriously. Looking away with a casual twist of his wrist, a motion he'd seen his father often use to mark his interest he replies, “Something not too large, a sloop perhaps. Something to carry some crates of raw cargo.” He looks back to the man, his hands clasp gently behind his back. “As for the destination, that would be Ashai.” His stomach tingles as the older man's eyes flash and a smile crosses his lips.

“Ashai huh?” He replies simply and Amano nods slightly. A hand comes up to stroke through his beard, the tall man's eyes raking over those men gathered about him. Once and a while his eyes will stop, as if sizing someone up, before he shakes his head slightly and moves on. Amano's insides dance as he waits, his lets hand coming up to curl around his left breast pocket. The motion looks as if he is searching for something inside the pocket, however it is simply Amano's new nervous habit coming into play. Remembering what Illiendi had said he lets his hand drop back down, grasping his fingers once more behind his back. Finally Russ's assessment seems to be over and hid head falls a bit Amano swallows hard but remains silent, waiting for the verdict.

Finally his head comes up and he snaps his finger. With a smile he looks down at Amano and chuckles lightly. Carefully he pulls the boy in closer to the bar, close enough that he can whisper without being overheard. Amano tenses slightly but relaxes against the bar none the less as Russ begins speaking. “You are no fool boy, and know that most captains in their right mind wouldn't deal with you without your father's consent.” Amano swallows hard but refuses to acknowledge the all too true fact. Russ seems to take heart from this and continues. “It just so happens however that there's a captain down at the port just now, came to port this morning, whom I'm sure will deal with you for the right amount of coin.” He waves a hand to brush away any worries about that statement. “His ship is small, like you want, and he's not well known enough to have any regular customers. So, I'm sure if you can catch him before his next job he'd be willing to work for you.”

Amano looks at him, his brows creased in concentration. 'He could be just joshing me, but he's never been that type of guy. When money is involved he's very straightforward. He's never gone back on a deal, nor given false information as far as my father is concerned' His mind tumbles back over all he knows of the man before him and with his head still held high he smirks and nods. “I will talk to this captain you speak of. What is his name, ship, and where does he tie up?” His voice is confident and clipped, letting Russ know that things will not end well should he be lying.

The older male really does mean well for the kid, some part of him really hoping he finds what he's looking for. “His name's Captain Jusler, and his ship is the Angry Lad.” They both share a grin at the name before he goes on. “He's tied up near the fishery, his last job being for one of the fisher guilds.” Amano pulls a few coins from his purse and presses them into Russ's open hand. The man gives him a nod and just as he's stepping away whispers, “Good luck young master.” Feeling very good about the exchange Amano simply nods back and makes his way carefully outside.

Once away from the press of bodies the boy lets out a long sigh, stretching his limbs. Without waiting for prompting he begins walking slowly towards the fishery. After a few seconds however he looks over his shoulder at Illiendi, a shy look on his face. “So, how was that?” Before the other can respond he turns his eyes once more to the road in front of them. “Russ is a good guy, not nearly as condescending as most of those who work for my father. I really didn't expect to find him there, but what a stroke of luck, huh?” He doesn't notice his head sinking back down to it's usual position as he speaks. Now not on the spot he begins curling back into himself.

As soon as they entered the demon dropped into his place as a servant, he remained at the distance one would expect and while he held his head prouder than most in this dismal establishment it was tilted just enough to make him seem humble rather than a noble himself. There he stood as the boy picked his target and dropped into conversation with him with easy words of friends rather than that of business. Honestly Illiendi did not much care for how Amano got the job done, just that he did and since none others heard the two, to busy drinking and wenching to much care what a noble lord wanted here he could speak as he wished. Those who were in the need for such knowledge there were circumvented by the demon who found innocent enough ways to keep them away, from missing stools to accidental drink spillages he made it look utterly accidental.

Finally they were freed from the inner festering guts of such a dismal place and the demon brushed ah and through his hair once out in the sunlight as if to shake off the gloom that had lingered inside the tavern. Too much like home, demons did not escape the bowels of hell to fall into the filth and scum that humans built in its image. He didn't miss a step and followed silently, "Oh my Master I was moved." Illiendi pulled off a step that was half skip and half a dance to be in front of his little master just as his head begins to sink, catching iti n those warm, slender fingers of his and lifting his head to meet Illiendi's eyes. "Utterly moved, what a wonderful act, why, even I nearly bought it." Thumb brushing the boys jaw line he tapped his cheek, "Head up." He hadn't broke stride, walking backwards and keeping pace with his master with all the ease a human would forward, "Whenever I look at you I want your eyes to be level with mine, not the dirt. A man who looks at dirt all day will never rise above it, I thought we had higher goals." Once again he smiled that unnerving smile that held both comfort and intimidation in equal measure.

With that he dropped back beside and behind his master with that same odd, almost bird like, grace that he seemed to have mastered. "Lucky indeed, unless he speaks to your father before we do. Though either eventuality works to our advantage in the long run, hopefully he'll hold his tongue until we return to your family home. Now, the fishery he said, correct?" Nodding towards a Sloop with the name 'Angry Lad' emblazoned cheaply on its side. Cheap was good, it meant money and fame would buy the man easily, all good Captains had two loves, rum and their ship. "Captain Jusler." He uttered, getting a grip for the name as he approached closer, "What is my Masters wish?" His tone, while it implied many things, mainly seemed to hint at how to handle this current situation, whether he himself should handle the Captain or allow Amano too.

As soon as Illiendi replies Amano can tell he's lying. Even though his tone would imply otherwise, he knows the other isn't really impressed. Once again he finds the demon in front of him, lifting his head up to make him look more of the station he's trying to achieve. He doesn't say anything about his disbelief in his mentor's words however and instead focuses on what the man is saying. However he can not help but to dwell on it a little when he once more falls into step off to the side. 'That was different from before. When he encouraged me back at the shop I felt he really believed in me. But just now, it was like he was trying to not let me get discouraged or something. That wasn't confidence, that was manipulation' Glancing over at Illiendi as they walk he has to fight not to let his head fall as he turns back to the road ahead. 'I should expect that though. He is what he is, and even if he's a lot more noble than I've read about in books and stuff, he is still a demon here for what he wants'

“Russ won't say anything to father. He won't have the time to. Father is returning tonight after dinner, and Russ is out looking for a warm body to share his bed by then.” he murmurs distractedly in reply. “And even if he sent a messenger, we'll be home before father, so. . .” his voice trails off as he continues thinking. 'I must never forget that. No matter how it feels to be around him, that warn safe feeling. . . .' He shakes his head slightly, his hand coming up to touch his brand softly. 'He's not a person, and I shouldn't expect him to. . . I don't know what I'm thinking any more. He's helping me, and I shouldn't let it get to me this much! No matter what it takes, right? He said he's going to help me accomplish my goal, and if that means turning me into a puppet for now, I can deal with that'

Turning to face Illiendi when he ask about how to handle what is to happen next Amano takes a few seconds to consider. 'He obviously could have done a lot better than I in there for the last transaction, so I think it's time to do what I do best: Watching and learning' “You go ahead and handle it this time. Since I did such a poor job before I think it's time to watch a master.” His gaze is steady, his tone respectful. He did not mean anything by it really, he just wanted the other to know that he can see through the manipulation, and that for now, he doesn't mind it. A moment later a door opens on the ship and a man steps out on deck. 'That could be the one we are looking for' he muses, then does a quick check of himself to make sure he's standing the way Illiendi had instructed him to. 'Gotta look the proud master I'm suppose to be'

Illiendi was surprised, well, a little surprised and such was a hard enough task to accomplish! The boy had taken the playful jest as words of criticism and in some way they were. It was true that Illiendi would have had to exert far more effort on the people in the bar to get what they wanted and he had no man such as Russ to confide in. It was one of the downsides of being trapped down in hell until some idiot decides to bring them up for some fresh air. Most of the time though the human's about him didn't notice such subtle jibes, such...disappointment was a harsh word but perhaps the most fitting. Too captivated by his smile, his charms, the aura that demons emitted to remain hidden among the cattle they served and sacrificed dependent on whatever masters whim it was. Then again there were the odd few, ones like this one who saw through the tricks and half truths, sometimes it was a boon that they could, it made things a lot easier but most of the time it was a farce, making it more difficult to get to the end of a contract without some drama or difficulty.

He said not a word though as they approached the ship and as the Captain moved out onto deck, Amano giving permission for him to take the lead but with hiked brow at the words he paused a moment. As soon as Amano was as he had instructed him to stand though, he bowed and uttered, "As you wish my master." The mirth gone from his voice, had his tone ever had any, back to the voice and tone Amano was much more used to. His words also simple and to the point, avoiding false flattery or even soothing the nobles clearly damaged ego. Any words he gave would likely be poor succor to the man now and truly aside for using his initiative in talking to Russ there was little to compliment, aside the avoidance of speaking about him and the night previous.

With an easy and graceful step Illiendi slipped up the gang plank and hailed the Captains attention with a friendly smile, "Ahoy there my good Captain, might have your ear a moment, there could be good coin in it for you." The Captain who was stretching out a drunken stupor and scratching his sweaty balls looked up at the friendly smooth tones and narrowed his beady eyes trying to focus on the person standing at the edge of the ship. He was about to tell the man to piss off when he spoke of coin, well, he did need another job. "Aye, then come aboard and let us talk." He called back to Illiendi, the demon gave an easy warm smile and stepped onto the deck, closing the distance between the pair until there was naught but a daggers length between them.

Sadly for Amano there was little to pick up on from their distance, aside the posture his servant held, he struck a gallant figure on the boat and spared little expense on prideful or vain gestures such as pushing hair away and tidying it behind his ears, even when the wind caught it and swept it brazenly free of the neat style it had earlier been in. He didn't point or gesture much at all with his hands, only doing so perhaps twice in the entire conversation. The Captain on the other hand used exaggerated hand gestures, stood slumped and scratched like a man with fleas now and then but one could tell he was trying his best to hold it back. From the snippets that would drift on the wind Amano would here the Captain -whose voice wasn't as soft as Illiendi's could be- ask about price and destination, cargo and crew and he would see the Captain nodding as Illiendi whispered in his ear.

For what it was worth it did not seem that the Captain was spellbound by Illiendi, the means used for the discussion seemed mortal enough and in the end the Captain smiled a toothy grin and shook Illiendi so firmly by the hand it would be a wonder if the demon didn't bruise from it. All the while illiendi had offered an easy, small smile, one that was not intimidating but welcoming and open, now the deal was done he smiled a wider grin with the warmth of summer and even laughed lightly as the Captain did at some small joke.

With the deed done the Servant slipped from the ship with a wave to the Captain and a promise to return with payment by night fall, "Tha's what I like to hear!" The Captain called back with a grin before setting to work checking over his ship. Once Illiendi had unhurriedly returned to Amano's side he of course filled him in with the same soft, quiet tones he had for the sailor himself. "He'll do it, he was dubious at first but when I mentioned our first port of call he was all too happy to oblige, he even will take us that far for half the price if it means getting to stop there for a full day. He will take payment tonight or he will look for another job 'work is work' to a man like him, as long as he has his pay he won't leave until we're ready to go. He knows little about what we are doing, just that you are a young lord with no direct claim to any land or small holdings wanting to explore before being married off. Speaking of which has your father found you a match yet?"

The light tingle shoots through his stomach again when Illiendi calls him master. 'I like that better. He's not talking down to me any more. I feel more willing to listen and do as I'm told when he's like this' Despite it being only a few words Amano's morale is boosted and he smiles for an instant as the demon turns his back to go talk to the man on deck. It only takes a few seconds for Amano to realize just how glad he is he sent Illiendi off to deal with the man. Even at a distance he can tell the man is foul smelling and far more gruff than Amano has the skill for at the moment.

When at last he reached the captain’s side Amano watched with rapt attention. Despite the fact that he can not actually pick up on anything specific the young noble can almost feel the interaction taking place. The man's wild movements, Illiendi's calm demeanor. All of this speaks to him in ways no one really has ever understood when Amano tired to explain it to them. While his father never took the time to teach him about running the business, the young man is sure that he would not be at a complete loss should it fall to him all of a sudden. He can by no means copy the actions he sees in others, but he's learn to recognize little subtle things that every person gives away without knowing it.

'Illiendi has very few of these little tells. He does have one that expresses no doubt, and one that makes it obvious he is if not comfortable with what he is doing, he is at least able to deal with it without showing too much of his own intentions beyond what he wants know' His eyes shine a little like a girl spotting the man of her dreams. 'He's amazing!' Getting himself back under control as he watches them shake hands. Another thrill runs through him at the sound of Illiendi laughing and Amano prays he will hear that sound again some day.

Amano listens intently to the demon, his eyes on the ground as he take in all the information. His head does not hang in shame as it so often has before, but instead in the deep concentration that has always aided in his retention of facts. However when the question of of marriage comes up Amano jumps slightly and brings his head up. If he didn't, he really would have started hanging his head for more shameful reasons. His cheeks flush and he motions that they should begin moving. Without waiting for the demon he begins walking, knowing that Illiendi will stay true to form no matter what.

He's silent for several minutes but when he finally begins talking, it's in his usual soft voice. “Two years ago father told me he was going to begin looking, but that it may take a while, me being the youngest an all. He'd have to find an either a girl with a huge dowry or one who is set to take over her father's business and is just waiting for her to get married so there's a man in the house.” He smiles a bit sadly. “Father is very old fashioned, but I don't blame him. I've met grandfather, and that man. . . Grandmother had it rough, let's just leave it at that.” His face becomes neutral once more as he continues.

“Anyways, that was two years ago, and he hasn't said anything to me directly, but apparently he has a couple prospects in mind for me that he likes to joke about with my brothers. They are the ones that told me. While they may have been lying, I've noticed a change in mother recently. She seems to want me home more. . .” He shrugs. “I really never wanted to think about it. I really don't care for such things.” He kicks a little stone, watching it bounce down the street before turning on to one of the main roads, forcing the two of them on to the sidewalk. “I know a lot of boy my age who are already years married with kids, and my elder brother is already married. My other brother's. . .” He shakes his head at the thought of how they keep score of how many town girls they've been with, even awarding more points if another brother has already done her first, or if she's visiting from out of town. The entire thing disgusts Amano.

His blush darkens a bit. “So, no, he hasn't picked one for me yet, but he's thinking about a few, most likely. . .” With a light cough and a serious voice however he adds, “But even before you came I'd decided to never take such an offer. I know it's stupid, and I know love is a convenience, I was and still am more than willing to live my life alone should I never find love.” He manages not to let his head fall and after a few seconds he even regains his proud stride. Looking to Illiendi in pure curiosity, his cheeks no longer flushed he asks, “What about you Illiendi? Do you have a partner, or partners, I'm not sure how your society works, back where you come from?” He is honestly curious about where the demon comes from, a part of him hoping that everything he can learn about it may help him deal with his new pet demon.

Of course he followed with his usual practically perfect form, not uttering a word out of place until the young master had finally begun speaking. He asked for no directions and followed effortlessly behind his master like a shadow at his side, never more than two paces behind and always slightly to the side. He allowed the boy his piece, the conversation clearly had startled him, his reaction evident in those rosy cheeks and for a moment that cold hardness in those bright eyes seemed a little softer. Though like a cloud over the sun it was soon gone leaving only that cold apathy behind. The entire conversation was permitted to occur as the boy spilled tales of his no doubt hell-bound brothers and the one already married, then turned the topic from sex, marriage and the continuing of the family line to love.

Illiendi understood sex, he understood marriage and he understood reproduction, he understood a good many sciences that would not be ready for this world for hundreds of years yet and he knew more about the stars and the sun than he could care to tell. He knew every name of the Angels and most of his brethren's of note. He knew the sins and the virtue's, maths, science, geography but a peculiar look came to his face at the mention of the word love. Illiendi didn't break step and nor did he seem overtly moved by the word save the scrunching of his brow and an almost confused and quizzical look upon his face. As he was about to comment upon this notion of 'love' the conversation shifted and was directed towards him and his 'home'.

"One would not call where I am from a home, it is no more a home than a jail is for a criminal, a criminal who has done no wrong but been punished for convenience. It is a place filled with fire so hot it would melt the skin and muscle from your flesh if you ever fell in, where the rocks themselves are so hot underfoot your feet bleed and blister. The beds are little more than flattened stone. My home is perhaps a little more...complex, than the average of my kind, perhaps one day you will see it for yourself. There is no Love where I am from, no Hope, No Compassion, No Charity, No Serenity, No Grace. Why do you think we answer the calls? To us it does not exist, to them it is all they live and to you, you flaunt it before us like a bone before a caged dog. So innocent, so...foolish." Illiendi trailed off and corrected his own posture while following along, "So Enviable." He added quieter, with a faint smile that still didn't reach his eyes.

Illiendi had survived a millenia now without the graces of the seven virtues and while the lesser of his kin, the lower ranking demons would faunicate in hopes of creating 'love' it only ever turned into lust. So frustrated did many of kin get that they would often answer the summons and pull themselves free from hell only to kill their master and take his place as human, few ever got away with such and the others often smote them down before they could so much as enjoy the first of the new pleasures offered up to them. Perhaps they became 'hopeful' or more accurately they were desperate, hell was hell for demons as well as the souls that fell there. In fact most demons of the lower ranks were created by the souls fallen into hell's clutches and a good few hundred years of torment. Nothing though that he would subject Amano too, he had a wish to fulfill before the full fury of hell came to meet him.

Changing the subject back around he continued, "You will tell your father and brothers you have decided on a match from those he has chosen, I ma sure you can spin him some tale of how you need something to sanctify your heart on your voyage. You will promise to write her as often as possible and when we are away there will be a tearful goodbye. You will then write to her and your engagement, as well as your fiancee's wistful love sick heart, will spread word of your adventures and endear you further to the people. Love for the moment is an unnecessary distraction, you will have time for love but for now you need people on your side." Illiendi grew quiet then for a moment, seemingly contemplating something, "do you know the names of the girls of which you are to be betrothed? If so I can go and gather information on them now and find the one which is the best match for you? Perhaps you will even find you...love...her?"

Amano's face becomes impassive as he listens to the beast describe his “home” in harsh detail. He swallows hard, keeping his stride even, though the images forming in his head make him want to stop an clasp his hands over his eyes. The thoughts make him a little sick to his stomach, images of skin and flesh dripping off his bones like an over cooked pig. 'That place sounds horrid. I mean, as a d-demon, I knew he came from hell, but I gave it little thought. I mean, he's so calm and collected, and. . . .pretty, the thought of him being anywhere but the finest halls and the most extravagant of palaces seemed so wrong to me. It still feels wrong, but as he says, so shall I believe' He lets out a calming breath, keeping his eyes forward as he continues listening.

As he begins speaking of all the things they do not have, his tone becoming somehow more. . .Amano can not identify it but as he brings up how humans flaunt their emotions, the good ones, Amano bites his lips sadly and glances back at Illiendi. He looks back just in time to catch his near whisper, and Amano feels his heart go out to the beast even more at the little smile on his lips. 'This is all beyond sad. I wonder if it's only there that such things don't exist, or if it carries over to when they are on earth. I mean, it sounds like that coming here is better than staying there. . .Well, that's a give in, but maybe there is something I can give him here that will make his stay more pleasant. I am glad now that I made a wish that will take a long time to complete. The longer he is here, the better I will feel about using a demon to reach my goals. . . .I think' Feeling a little choked up Amano tries to wet his throat by swallowing a few times, but before he can address the concepts running through his mind and heart, Illiendi is speaking once more.

As the demon continues, telling of how he will pretend to be in love with one of his prospectives, Amano's step slows ever so slightly until at last he comes to a complete stop. “No.” His tone is firm, but not angry. He then turns to Illiendi, the street they are on is empty so he doesn't have to worry about how he is standing or the sound in his voice. “I won't do that Illiendi.” He takes a breath, shoring up as much courage as he can muster before explaining himself. His right hand comes up to cover his heart, the tips of his fingers brushing the brand on his chest. “I know a lot of people who would follow this last instruction no problem, but I refuse to do it. Those people I know? They are scum in my eyes. I have a much higher view of the value of my heart, and the love it can carry.”

He shakes his head ever so slightly, keeping his tone carefully respectful. “You say you do not have love where you are from, so I do not fault you for wanting to use this human strength, or weakness depending on your views, to your and mine's advantage. It is indeed a great plan. However, I can not play with that emotion. I will never pretend to love someone, ever. When I confess a love, it will be true, and with an honest heart.” He bites his lip again, his eyes dropping for a moment as his own passion seems to suddenly embarrass him. However he brings his eyes back up a moment later, the conviction of his belief burning bright in his eyes. “Love is precious, over all other emotions we humans can feel. It can start wars, stop them, take a million lives to defend it, or give birth to nations in it's pure unrivaled state.” He shakes his head one last time. “No Illiendi, I'm sorry, but I will not use love as a mere tool. . .” His voice trails off, his face set in resolve and strength.

After a few seconds however his cheeks light up and he coughs. “Sorry, I talk too much, I shouldn't be preaching to you. . .” His eyes turn away rather than falling, remembering once more that he's suppose to look like a high class gentleman at all times. His head tilts after a moment however and he adds a bit bashfully, “Beside, yes, I know the names of all the girls, and they all know me, and not a one of them would ever believe me. They know I don't find them attractive either physically or mentally. I prefer people with brains. .. “ He chuckles at this, baring the girls no ill will, and they themselves knowing they are not up to Amano's intellectual standards and not ashamed of that fact.

One could say Illiendi should have acted more surprised but as Amano stopped and began to speak Illiendi came to a slow and natural stop and allowed his noble man to speak. He stood with the same natural, bird like grace as he had their entire trip so far, with the bearing of one born into his role, any less for a demon of his standing and it would be considered a waste of his time and talents. He never did things half way, no, especially in the pursuit of intellect he went with all the detail and ability he could. He listened to Amano and as that first word left his lords lips there was a faint and gentle bow of his head, Illiendi was a demon and he didn't know love but his master had said no and there was no force, even God, that could change that fact now it was spoken aloud.

Illiendi had intended to simply answer with an 'as you wish' but the boy continued to explain why he said no, in what, to Illiendi, seemed a pointless gesture. Humans though had a habit of taking offence rather easily and no doubt such action was simply driven in considering his high born state but low rank in the family. The plan to use a woman as a means of inspiring the people was out, which honestly was quite the shame for it would have generated a lot more rumours a lot easier and swung the hearts of the people quickly. Women were easy on the eyes and thus men often fell for their charms and guile, willingly or erstwise. While his master spoke he remained still but his mind raced with a thousand possibilities and their possible outcomes.

When Amano had returned to his senses the demons head gave the faintest tilt, like a raven watching a human in its territory and after a long quiet moment he spoke. "You are my master, you need not explain any decision to me no matter how large or trivial. If it is against your wishes I can not do it." He spoke gently, that tone of his that was not guarded but educational, informative. "It is a shame you are known to be picky with your partner, it would have been a boon to you." He didn't sound disappointed, more curious than anything, which quickly died as he rolled his shoulder, "I will work around that."

With what he intended to say, said he took a step forward and awaited Amano to lead the way back to his home, he could work the plan without a fiancee and he'd need time to plan the adventure itself. So much to do, it was a good thing most demons chose not to sleep or they would never be ready in time, a suit had to be tailored, a documenter hired, a scabbard created and supplies readied and loaded upon the ship. Luggage to pack and money to raise while they also needed to win the fathers approval, grudging or otherwise. A mountain of work but it would take next to no time when he could finally move around properly again.

Amano lets out a long sigh, glad the demon does not seem to be upset. Even though he knows that Illiendi can not defy him, giving him a command like that was more unnerving that he ever imagined. 'I have too much respect for this being before me to just snap out orders like it sounds like he's come to expect from human m-masters. I. . . .' With a nod he turns and continues leading the way to his house. He is silent fore several seconds but then, he realizes there is something he wants to say. Something that will hopefully aid Illiendi. Something that may help him understand Amano better, and even perhaps help him make plans easier. After all, the more the demon knows, the easier it is to plan, right?

Looking over his shoulder briefly he smiles. “I know you say I do not need to explain myself, but I really think that doing so is only to the benefit to our endeavor. After all, the better you know me and the more you know about human nature the better it is over all, right? I mean. . .I'm sure you've seen a lot of humans over the years, and taking those who summoned you as an example, I highly doubt you've ever been summoned by anyone like me.” He flushes slightly, trying his best to not sound as if he is tooting his own horn. “I mean, those men and women, all of them, they. . They were some of the worst examples of people I can imagine. If they are the standard for the kinds of people who have summoned you, then I think by filling you in on my own personal view and aspects of my being will be not only informative, but necessary if I am to have your help in growing into the man I want to be. . .”

He lets out a soft sigh, looking down the street as his house comes into view. “I mean, now that you know of my views on love, you now know more about how I think, and will be better able to manipulate me into this great man you seem to believe I can become. An artists works better with tools they know and use often, and a painting will come out more beautiful if the artists knows how the paint will interact on the canvass.” He bites his lip before adding his last piece. “In other words, I will always explain myself, even if you say it is unnecessary because even if you will follow my orders without question, I fell that whatever bits of knowledge you can gain about me or human nature that you don't already know will make for not only a better laid plan, but smoother interactions between us. . .”

Illiendi listens to all the boy has to say as he had before and no doubt would many hundred, thousand times over should their partnership be fruitful. He listened with all the politeness of a noble man, he observed with the sharp eyed keenness of a hawk and he kept that neutral facade, that visage of neither interest nor disinterest as the words rolled over him. For all the fancy words, for all the beautiful descriptions painted by Amano not one made much difference to what was inherent programming in the demon, it was a shame in some ways and he reflected a moment on that. While most men would find such flowery words weak, he was certain most women would swoon to be spoken to with such eloquence. It was also a shame his master seemed almost petrified of the other sex, or at least keen to avoid them wherever possible.

"I understand." He said in that silky, slippery voice of his that licked with the heat of a winters fire and burned ice cold like a frozen lake. There was little else to say, the boys words made sense in a way, had Illiendi been human it would make sense that they learn about one another to better stand a chance at achieving their goals. The simple fact was that Illiendi was not human and such normal human conforms did not need to apply to this situation, he was little more than a sword and shield, a bow and arrow, point and fire and he'd do as he was willed. However, Amano wanted a softer touch, a more personal touch, he'd been a lover to a master before, it had been entertaining for a while and she too had wanted the demon to better know her to attain her own goals. It was something he could do with as much finesse as slipping on a suit, of course this was not the role of a lover, this was a butler, a tutor and a confident, this was a puppet master who had to shape and create a life for a man who dreamed so bountifully. It meant new roles and new behaviours but he was not daunted nor put off and such showed in such an easy and relaxed demeanor.

"I will follow your lead then with your family, though our story ought to be straight before you arrive home." Again those warm yet chilling hands slipped out from his sides and straightened the boys posture, hair and clothing as he spoke. His fingers deft and surprisingly gentle as he set to work with practiced ease. "I am Illiendi, I come from across the Lonely sea from the country of Marth. I was taught how to read, write and speak your tongue and schooled in the ways to be a butler. You sent for your own servant with your own coin and received me in reply to your payment. Will your father take offence to you purchasing your own man servant?"

A shiver runs through his body when Illiendi replies simply to his long tirade. He's never noticed before this day, but as it begins dawning on Amano just how much he's been talking lately, he thinks back and realizes just how much he will talk when given the opportunity or incentive. 'I suppose I can understand why. I mean, as the youngest, I've never really had much say around my family, or even around town with the local nobles and the like that my father forces me to get to know. Illiendi gives me a feeling of control I've never had before, and since he listens to me in such a nonjudgmental way, I guess I feel more able to express myself around him. . . .I like the feeling' He pauses as Illiendi slips in front of him and begins fixing him up.

He hadn't even noticed himself slipping, but as those cool efficient hands make their way over his body, he doesn't really even try to think back to how it happened. Instead he looks to the taller male and listens carefully to his word, his head once more falling ever so slightly to help him take in the information. When he is done talking about his background and asks about Amano's father the boy's head comes up and he bites his lip a little in thought. Then after a few seconds he shakes his head. “No, he won't mind. However, he will, because you are with me, assume you are. . .” He hesitates to use the word on his mind, but decides being strait forward is best. “He'll think you're cheap, in all facets of that word. . .”

Glancing back at his home over Illiendi's shoulder he huffs lightly. “I'm sorry if he's an ass to you, but you'll more than prove him wrong. All of those who work for father are less than half as good as you are even when all their skills are put together.” Amano does not think particularly ill of his father's servants, however after being around Illiendi for just half a day, watching him, he knows that his father is the one with cheap help. Once Illiendi is satisfied with his posture and appearance He continues their trek to his house. As he mounts the steps up to his front door, the dark finished wood looming over him like a gaping maw, Amano can feel himself getting more and more nervous. However as he reaches the top step, his hand comes up to touch the brand and he can feel his nerves settle.

He pushes the doors open slowly, the hinges well oiled so they swing silently inward as the two of them step through. The large front foyer is devoid of bodies and the young man sighs lightly. He knows he should have let Illiendi open the doors for him, but his habit of doing things for himself is not going to die anytime soon. He does however let the demon close the door behind them as he makes his way across the foyer towards the dinning hall. 'It is nearly dinner time, and if I can get mother and whichever brothers are home tonight out of the way, then all I'll have to worry about later is father' His steps to not falter as the sounds of voices ahead makes him want to flee. He's always been the bottom wring, having to ask for everything in his life. Suddenly announcing to his family that he's done such a big thing on his own has his insides hopping.

He once more reaches up to touch his brand and with it's settling effect he relaxes a bit before opening the door to the dinning hall. The hall is quite decedent, the lush tapestries on the walls, an the large windows behind the head of the table giving it a rather tall look. The table itself is long enough to fit the entire family and at least twenty guests, and the door opposite the one Amano stands in leads directly to a short hall that goes to the kitchen. Looking to the left, towards the head of the table, Amano sees his mother already seated. He large layered dress fluffs out, looking very much like it's trying to escape the confines of the arm rests of the fine wooden chair she's sitting in. He spot at the table is at the right hand of her husband, meaning from Amano's vantage point she sits on the left hand side of the table.

Across from her are two of his brothers, the youngest two. The two are dressed in their finery, meaning they will be leaving after dinner, most likely to go wenching. They had taken after their father as far as looks go, their shoulders broad and hair light brown, while Amano had more of his mother's frame and hair color. The eldest has the broad build but also carries his mother's hair color, but he keeps it short unlike Amano who's always liked the feeling of long hair. Someones he'd wished that he was bigger, like his father and brothers, but as he became more and more skilled with his blade, he grew proud of his slight build.

As the door swings open all eyes turn to him, and his mother stands to greet him. “Amano. Where have you been!? You were gone all night, and your father said not to worry, but I. . . .” Her voice trails off as Amano moves into the room, Illiendi walking behind him in his usual spot. She stops her advance on her little boy to gaze at the beast, and Amano is not surprised whatsoever at he sudden and obvious infatuation with Illiendi. He stops a pace from her, his eyes firmly on her and not his bothers, who seem ready to start picking on him any moment.

“Mother, this is Illiendi. He is going to be my manservant from now on. He is well trained and thus far has proven to be most skilled in his duties.” She tears her gaze away from the captivating male as Amano speaks, confusion etched in her features. “I purchased him on my own coin, so he is mine alone to command.” he glances at his brothers at this, their looks of irritation at him making him a little afraid for an instant before he remembers that all he needs to do is call Illiendi and he'll protect him. “However while we are still under this roof I assure you he will follow house rules. Also, I am sorry to have worried you, but last night Illiendi's boat came in late and I wanted to meet him at the dock.” He knows he is most likely sort of lying to his mother, but he can not say otherwise if he wishes to keep the peace at the moment.

His mother, though often viewed as quite dim, is sharp when it comes to certain things. At the words “while we are still under this roof” her slightly dazed expression vanishes and she stands a little taller. “What do you mean, while under this roof? You do not mean you plan on leaving?”

From their place at the table his brothers begin calling out. “Yeah, he's going to run off with his new lover to his secret base outside town!” The older one, Tawney, calls out, laughing openly at the idea.

“Are you kidding!?” Says the other loudly. Burtus is a good head shorter than the older one, even shorter than Amano by a few inches, giving him a rather stout look. “There's no way Amano will ever let go of mommy's skirt, let alone score a guy like that! He's gonna die a virgin brother, and you know it.”

They both dissolve into laughter, but his mother is not distracted in the least. Her sharp gaze is still locked on her youngest son. Amano however can not help turning slightly red at the insults, his head threatening to fall. However he takes a steadying breath and manages to keep himself from slouching down. “I will be discussing my plan with father later, and if he wishes to share it with you, mother, he shall.” The boys at the table stop laughing. They are so use to their little brother cowing under them that the rather strait forward, not to mention well worded response to their mother's accusation has them a little stumped.
