Also, nicely done on this chapter, Jorick. Definitely a good read. ^_^
Thanks. :D

That was really good. The magic you gave me was super wicked and I loved it. I'm really looking forward to the next (final?) chapter.
Yeah, your set of magic was pretty cool, but Smiral the unstoppable fucking machine was too strong. Alas.
Also yes, 11 will indeed be the final chapter.

I was rooting for you, idle. :( Still, you wrecked shit.
And holymotherofbodycount. Some rather brutal deaths this time around.
Definitely the bloodiest chapter for major characters. Also the brutality, yeah, I felt like this big ole three part battle deserved some gore. It was time for the Peacemakers to stop fucking around, after all.

The deus ex machina is strong with this one. Although I imagine this has been set up for a while and I was just to obtuse to spot it.
This has absolutely been set up for a while. Since the very beginning, in fact. That prophecy Sole got concerning the Lord of Fate was something I made while writing the first chapter, always intended to be about Hank.
Hank's whole back story was that he was once exiled to the Wildlands, meaning by force, then he was somehow freed of that exile. Then he went and crossed that border again seeking glory in the form of power to defeat the Peacemakers. He lived off away from everyone else, showing that he was something of a loner. He had that whole internal monologue bit when Darog died about how he'd never really cared about anyone else before, how he'd always just been alone and whenever someone else died in a battle oh well who cares. When he got to Gold Heap, his internal monologue explicitly stated that he decided it was time to finally choose a side, and then he did so.
Rilla was simply a very convincing decoy, purposely built to make him look like the one who was supposed to wield Protector. When Walker told him he had been chosen to carry it, it meant simply that: carry it to its destined recipient, not actually wield it as his own.
