Name: Mordred "The once and future prince"
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Ability: Possess the
sword of kings and the scabbard of the ever distant utopia; Excalibur and Avalon. Excalibur is the strongest sword ever made, forged by the fey themselves using a special metal found in their realm called mithrial. Excalibur is capable of striking down even magic spells. Avalon was also made by the fey. After it became bound to Mordred, he became one with it. His fusion with the scabbard magically dispersed it throughout his body, essentially make him the 'scabbard' for Excalibur. This allows him to store the blade inside of his own body (which has the nifty side effect of making it unable to harm him). Avalon itself grants Mordred an advanced healing factor (due to it's magical nature, and thanks to the fey who made it, this healing factor does not shorten his lifespan). Anything that doesn't killing him outright will heal, given enough time. While he sometimes claims to be immortal, this is more to intimidate and break the spirit of his foes.
Personality: Having been raised as a knight, Mordred is extremely noble. Because quite a few of his pears were women, he has no problem fighting members of the opposite sex. He does however refuse to fight a weak or helpless opponent (unless said opponent was made weak and or helpless in battle against him). He can't stand seeing the strong using their power to abuse the weak, and will fight to defend them
Backstory: The stories about him...are not all true.
While Mordred is indeed the son of Morgan Le Fey and her half brother Arthur Pendragon, and he
is the one who killed his father...that's where the truth ends. During his early days, he was raised by his mother who was trying to turn him into a weapon to kill his father. However her cruel methods of making him a bloodthirsty warrior backfired, and he fled from her when he was only 5. He was soon found by a caravan bound for Camelot, and was allowed to join them. Upon reaching the grand city, young Mordred quickly became enthralled with the knights of the city, and soon decided that he wanted to become one, however it wouldn't be so simple for a young boy without any parents (at least as far as everyone knew). After leaving the caravan, he slipped into the knight's barracks, he found a sword and tried to practice with it, but found it too heavy to lift. When he was found, the knights were about to remove him from the barracks...until on of them stepped forward. This knight saw...
something in the young Mordred, something that reminded the knight of himself. He then decided to take the boy on as his squire. This knight's name was Arthur Pendragon
Years went by, and the young boy soon grew into man, and a capable knight. He was even made part of the Knights of the Round Table, becoming the youngest member. For a time, life was peaceful...until his mother came with her army. Her demons ravaged the city, and one by one, the knights all fell...until only King Arthur and Mordred remained. Wanting the satisfaction of killing her brother herself, Morgan confronted the King. As she casted her foul magic on him, she told him of the many plans she had made to do him in. However, one of them in particular struck a cord with Mordred; the one where she bewitched him to get his seed, in order to give birth to a child who would slay him. It was then that Mordred finally understood everything. As King Arthur's mind fell to his half sister's foul magic, he was inflicted with madness. While he tried to stop him without harming him, a slip on the mad king's part saw that Mordred's blade pierced his flesh. As death came to claim him, Mordred told his father that he was the child that Morgan spoke of, but that he had only learned who his father was that day. The mortal wound received having restored his mind, King Arthur used his dying breath give Mordred both Excalibur and Avalon. Before succumbing to his wounds, he said one last thing;
"I leave the rest in your hands...my son"With his father's sword and scabbard in hand he walked up to his mother, who was to busy relishing her victory to notice him. When he got close enough to her, he said this;
"Do you recognize me...mother!? The child you gave birth to, who was born solely to kill his own parent, Mordred! Well...my mission is not yet complete; one parent still lives"In her surprise, she was unable to act before it was too late; Mordred pierced her heart with Excalibur, killing her instantly. However her death was not without side effects; the vast amount of magic she had absorbed flowed out of her. In a futile effort to shield himself, Mordred held Avalon between himself and his mother's dead body, although this just made his body absorb the scabbard. When all the magic had left her body, her army of demons crumbled. Mordred was the last remaining person in Camelot. Before the full implications could hit him, he found himself pulled into the future...
