Name: Argurios Leathertramp
Age: 13
Gender: male
Race: half-orc
Class: ranger

What you want to be when you grow up? A Brewer of the finest ale. Having a big beehive, lots of fruit trees and a shipbuilder.

Who is your mentor? My father Rakanr, he though me how to take care of the land and the family trade, which is tailoring and leather smiting.
Brief Biography: at the village. His mother was a human whore, but his father an orc. Raknar spent half of his wealth, which he got from serving in the army paying a whore to bore him a son. After the birth Raknar took his son and travelled to a distant small village. Here he settled down. The boy’s name is Argurios. Since he was small Argurios helped his father at the farm and in crafting leather. Like at any farm, pestilence was a great problem. His father set traps for moles and rats, but this didn’t end the problem, just lessened it. Argurios advised to buy a dog or some pet to keep watch of the fields, but his father disagreed. For Argurios’s seventh birthday Raknar gave him an old sling which Raknar used in the army. The boy learned how to use the weapon fast and grew fond of it. For exercise he used the sling to hunt rabbits, rats and other pests that ruined the fields. One time, as he was chasing a rabbit and swinging the sling above his head he tripped and loosened the sling. The stone flew and accidentally slammed into Raknars face breaking one of the tusks. Work on a farm was full of wounds of all sort. At young age Argurios was constanly wounded, being cut, broken, or infected. For most of these wound his father took care of. Even when the wound was infected Raknar rarely sent Argurios to the village healer. Each time Raknar took care of Argurios, Argurios carefully watched the work and in time learned how to patch himself up. When he was 12 he accidentally messed up an order of one of the village men, and so he had to help him at the saw mill for half a year. He worked through the mornings. At afternoons he had nothing to do. The saw master showed him how to make bows. With his first bow Argurios made, he spent practicing. Before he could become skilled with it, he already played his debt and went back to his farm. At home he didn’t have the time to practice with the bow so the weapon just sat in his room. Argurios and his father also took care of the house. Raknar was a stubborn orc and whenever something in the house broke he had to fix it himself, or it would stay broken. Argurios naturally helped every time and learned how to fix multitude of things along the way.

What person(s) of interest do you know in the village? Who all do you have a relationship with?: all of them. His family is the only one with such quality leather crafting, and so all come to him for all sorts of things. They all know who Argurios is, yet have no personal relationship.

Equipment: basic leather crafting equipment. Hunting knife, lots of rope. An ancient sling. His father’s tusk, which he broke as a child. A bow, not of high quality, but it shoots (most of the time.)

Class Skills:.
Can swing an axe. ( he learned this at his home while chopping wood for lots of things- like burning.) Very good with an ancient sling (he learned it when hunting rats on the field.)
Learned how to shoot a bow and make one at the sawmill.

Villager Skills: 'Basic Farming Knowledge'. Leather crafting. Basic wound healing.

IC is up! Yipee!

@orcpunx: It's looking really good! I think we would like to see just a tad bit more backstory/history simply because it's a little bare right at the moment.
A few things: The village is very small and so unlikely that anyone would own any slaves (slavery is also illegal in most areas of the Faerun). It would be perfectly reasonable for Argurios to be born elsewhere (most likely in the closest city of Athkatla, in Amn), after which his mother was freed and married Rakanr, and then they moved to the village to settle down when he was a baby. Owning slaves would likely mean that Rakanr was someone influential or rich, perhaps an adventurer of old or even some kind of military leader/commander, in which case it would be nice if you'd give a brief explanation of why he left the city and moved to the isolated countryside.
Equipment looks good.
Class Skills: You list 'basic wound healing' but I didn't see much mention of why/where he learned that in his backstory? Axefighting, Sling Use, Bow use. Bowcrafting would be a fifth skill (we'd only like to see 4 here), so might I suggest dropping bow use/bow crafting and focusing on something related to leatherworking? (leather repairs, tanning, ect)
Villager Skills: farming, cooking, and 'basic house repairs'? Do you mean carpentry, perhaps?

Yup, feel free to post an intro of your character living life, maybe chatting with an NPC or doing work or seeking out another player character. The next story post (maybe coming up Monday) will start the 'adventure' (shit is gonna go DOWN).

I've a little question for my first post. Are the gardens inside the gate or outside?

Leather crafting at high level (Can make simple clothes or advanced leather armour.) Basic wound healing, Basic house repairs:fixing walls, roofs, enclosures, chimneys, stables, etc.

Okay orcpunx, I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear before but you have too many skills listed here. We allow 4 Class Skills and 3 Villager Skills.
Right now, you have 4 Class skills (axe fighting, sling fighting, bow fighting, and bow crafting) and 7+ Villager Skills (raising crops, cooking, food storage, 'everything that happens on a farm', leather crafting, wound healing, 'basic house repairs').
Raising crops, food storage, and 'everything that happens on a farm' can be combined into 'Basic Farming Knowledge'. Leather crafting is fine but you would not be a 'high level' leatherworker at this age (you would be able to repair leather armor, tan leather, and maybe make small things, some clothes, but not a full set of combat armor) . That means you have one spot left between 'Wound Dressing' and 'House Repairs', and I personally would suggest you drop 'House Repairs'.

Once these issues are addressed you're all set to post!

@ollumhammersong: Works for me!

Ya, we're a couple short but this was never meant to be a huge thing. We're gonna open up the Interest Check again to see if we can pull a few in before we leave the village (spoilers!).

Sorry for the delay here folks. Just waiting to see if anyone else who said they were in is actually showing up. Story opens up for action/reaction tonight before I hit the hay.

Small spoiler--This is all part of the event that kicks off the adventure; but a big part of the story is piecing the truth of what happened together.

Only those children who are well hidden (under a bed or in a closet does not count as well hidden) will be able to move forward and be free to do...whatever you think they would Do. Anyone else including all adults/mentors, are victims to be rescued as the children see fit.

Does a potion of invisibility count as well hidden?
