Estylwen asked a good question regarding the settlements of Riverdale and Rocky Hill.
This is some basic info about the two villages.
You can add elements to it yourself, (Why do I have have to do all the imagination? :P). So Riverdale is just a smaller mining village, "houses" are either ruins of old houses, with holes in the roof, crumbling walls, often with no wood sustains so the ceiling completely crumbled. The villagers are mostly miners or scavengers. There is a camp as well, similar to a military camp, with big tents and trucks and soldiers. These look modern and rich. Human soldiers usually look pretty rough and a bit dirty, even if they are way better off than miners and workers in general. Higher ranked people in the military are richer and can allow themselves luxuries like "clean" water and "good" food.
The village is pretty much dieing though, with people getting sick and babies often not living until the age of 3. Just a few grow to adulthood. Same with Rocky Hill but there the economy is a bit better due to the small mine which isn't mechanized as the bigger mines, so they can get a low but steady income.
Edit: people try to fix the old houses with pieces of trash and some houses are only made from garbage.
Edit2: I think I'll make Wolgran a sort of important character. I'm sure someone mentioned it already that he should be one but I don't remember who it was (Hesoca I think). Whoever it was, good point, he did play quite a role now and I will post as him also some other time, even when the elementals aren't close to him.
