So things pretty much started the same. The natives to the land weren't really hostile, they were more than willing to share with the explores from Europe. However the Europeans didn't want to share, they came to conquer. So the people who live there responded accordingly. Those in the south had more of a sense of unity and successfully repelled the invaders within a few months. These were the Inca people, the Mayan people and the Aztecs. Obvious there were more tribes then the main three, but it was the main three that drove away the Spanish in the South. The South it still completely composed of these people. The Peninsula of "South America" is the Mayan Empire. What is "Brazil" is the Peruvian Empire, the Incas. "Cuba" is the Aztec Empire in Yucatan. The Southern Continent as a whole is called, buy the Europeans, the Devil's Land, because of how many people died there. The people who live there just call it Our Land.
The North however didn't fare as well. They were initially too scattered to put up heavy resistance to France and Europe and eventually Spain. The Europeans gained footholds all the way along the East coast. However they were stopped before they reached the Mississippi. The Tribes who lived in what was now called America, allowed the white people to remain also long as they stayed in their lands. Eventually the colonizers grew weary of their orders to push west and taxes imposed and they rebelled with the help if the Tribes. After the Rebellion. or the Declaration of Independence, the Europeans moved in to reclaim their only foothold on America. They were rebuffed by both the colonizers and the Indians. Thus was formed the United Tribes of America. The Colonizers, hence forth refereed to Americans and the natives came to an agreement. The Americans could move West as long as they respected the Tribes who already lived there. Most of the Americans ended up converting to which ever religion belonged to the Tribe they lived with. However a good amount still believed in Christianity, Islam, etc. Eventually the Americans opened up trade with the south and the lands grew prosperous. Yay.
When WWII broke out America was content to stay away from the fight. However when they were attacked things changed. They weren't the superpower out America was and the war ended in a stalemate. Germany retained it's captured territory and everyone settled down in an uneasy truce. Eventually Hitler was assassinated and war broke back out. (America stayed firmly out of it and so did Japan since they were in China at this point). The European states attacked Germany with a brutal swiftness and crushed Germany. The remained European countries divided up Germany and it was no more. Over in Asia, China was experiencing problems of it's own. The Empire had been over turned and things hadn't gotten any better. And Japan was taking advantage of the chaos and invading. Many Chinese people had fled to America where they had been welcome as refugees as long as they didn't cause much trouble, and they didn't.
Eventually China pushed back Japan, but lost a lot of power in doing so. China retained it's Presidency and continued on. Japan continued to try to gain more land, but Korea (Still united) and other Asian countries stepped in a put a stop to it. A few months after Germany was broken and removed from the maps, so too was Japan defeated.
