Hi. I don't know if that is right thread, but I don't know where can I ask, and how to call it... I have a problem, because I am looking for games whitch are played on whole forum, not in one topic. In Poland we call it "PBF games". One topic games are "PBF sessions"...But I can't find anything similiar in english... Isn't it popular, or doesn't exist? Or maybe I just call it wrong?

Maybe I explain. I am looking for a game in which every thread is one location. And we have one charakter who is leveling and he have some equipment, but he can find or buy something better. And for example in one thread we can find some shops or quests to do by our character. Do you understand me? I like it more than one-topic RP's but I can't find it and I want to play in english because it is good for learning...

P.S I know I wrote it chaotic but I hope you will understand :D

Yeah, the closest thing you'd find that is the Arena section's Multiverse. Otherwise, it's too much of a hassle to be run by the people here, I think.

Hmm... Probably you didn't understand me... I didn't tell about this forum. I told about forum games where whole forum is one big game. I can't find nothing like that... Here we have a lot of games which aren't connected with other games. I am looking for game where all threads are connected and making one game. Thats very hard to explain but I have no examples...

There are some out there about the internet (although I'm not searching because I'm not sure linking to external sites like that would be kosher for RPG, and because I prefer single thread RPs as opposed to the mess of a forum wide roleplay), it just takes a bit of searching to achieve.

Can you give me some suggestions, how can I searching it? Because when I use tags like "PBF games", "forum RP's" or something like this google gives me sites with normal computer games or other sites where the "PBF" word is used in other meaning...

If you provide the sort of themes you prefer for such, then it might be easier for people to provide help for ya. Not sure how harshly the rule against advertising other sites will be enforced in this case, but it can't hurt to use PMs to give any links.

We know there are some star wars themed ones out there (don't know any links, though). There are probably similar for all sorts of universes.

I think I know what you're talking about. I haven't seen many of them, and they're hard to find, but they're out there.

The English term for that sort of thing is a persistent world roleplay if I'm not too much mistaken, at least that's one term. we used to run one here on the guild in a separate section but it failed several times because the people in favour or getting it running weren't able to keep up with the task efficiently.

Try things like "Play By Forum" or "Play By Board" instead of their acronyms.

Also, I've found that many of these sites advertise with each other (unlike the Guild, their ecosystem is pretty open) and you can usually use it to site-hop a few links to find something more appropriate if the first result isn't appealing.

Try also searching for a specific fandom, like "Star Wars roleplay" or "Harry Potter roleplay." That will likely lead you to these boards.

Finally, if using Google, be sure to add "-site:roleplayerguild.com" to the end of your search terms so that RPG doesn't come up in your results. You can add more pages to this ("-site:roleplayerguild.com,google.com") if lots of results are popping up for them.

I've always just called them forum roleplays, which I picked up from the first time I saw them.

I noticed there were a lot of irrelevant results when I tried searching, but yes, looking up a specific topic, type of RP, or fandom will help a good deal. It sounds like you're set already, but I figured I add a couple things people didn't already say.

If you're looking for more RPs out there, and have trouble finding anything, I'd also advise (if you're using Google) to turn off Search History and/or delete it all. The link here will mention both. Google tracks all the things you search, and might be giving you results it thinks you want instead of the standard ones. Which can be a problem in some cases.

I found a list of "top RP sites" here. At least some, if not all, are forum wide - I checked Plague(zombie RP) and a couple others from there, and all were forum-wide.

I assume you mean something like this?

Note: Not advertising, that link was the site (and others, same community, different site engine) was where I RP'ed for years before joining the Guild it's long dead now. I've abandoned all hope of it ever reviving.

Basically an entire site dedicated to one overall plot/story (which honestly are the RP styles I prefer). But what you're specifically ordering all seems to have more RPG elements to it. Simply put, what you're looking for just is not possible on the Guild for two main reasons.

1. It is designed to be a site for thousands of people to plan and start unrelated roleplays. If everyone did multi-topic's it would spam the site extremely. Also, even if say only you guys did it all your topic's would be buried under other topics. You could just subscribe to those threads... but that's not only just one raw list (so not organized at all) but most people will probably still have that cluttered by other threads on the site that they also subscribed to.

2. RPG elements like stats, gold, leveling up require either a lot of paper work, or a lot of coding. And the Guild simply does not have the coding to support such things. You have to track, calculate and implement all of this manually.

Now, it's entirely possible for the Guild to allow all of this... (#1 more easily I imagine, you just need to make sub-topic's to be created by user's for specific RPs and then let them go nuts with posting forums or sub-topics within that original sub-topic.

Example: Make Sub Topic *Galaxy War*, within this sub topic you can post sub topic *Roleplays* and then post each roleplay in that universe seperately.

However, I would not see it getting much success. People who come to this site normally come to experience many separate and instanced RP's. To get a lot of variety and make a lot of new characters. If they wanted to invest fully into one Universe they would of joined a site that focused on that rather than a generalized Guild.
