This seems like a nice little corner of RPG to get to know people. Not as clique-esque as some of the other lounges in this area.

That said, I might as well say a bit about myself. I've been a part of the Guild ever since December of 2010, so long before "Guildfall". GM'ed quite a few games in that time and, like many, lost quite a bit, but I like to keep moving forward and, as such, I've created and joined quite a few new games since the Guild's return.

And while we're on the topic of Zodiacs, my signs would be Libra and Rat, to cover both types. Although admittedly I really wasn't into Zodiacs at all or even knew my own sign until (NERD ALERT) I started reading Homestuck.

Haha I'm the opposite. I've been into astrology for a while and that's why I tried to get into Homestuck when I learned about the trolls. I haven't gotten very far though... It's so slow and there's soooo much!

Yeah, Homestuck's a long read. There's definitely way more to it than the trolls, especially since the trolls don't show up until late Act 4, and aren't properly introduced until Act 5. If you really wanna read Homestuck, you're gonna have to just sit back and enjoy the ride. Trying to quickly get through it just for the trolls, well... won't be satisfactory.

However! How far are you? If you haven't finished Act 1 yet then I can safely say you haven't really gotten to the interesting parts yet. Act 1 is notoriously slow and tends to turn off a lot of people to the comic, but once you get to Act 2, things finally start to speed up. And from there on out, the plot of Homestuck thickens exponentially until everything is so wild and crazy it barely resembles Act 1. And while the trolls don't show up until a lot later, there's still a ton to read and enjoy before them. Contrary to what some fans might have you believe, the plot does not revolve around the trolls.

Yeeeaaaah like I said, Act 1 is really slow. Even as a diehard fan, I acknowledge and accept that. You kind of have to get into Act 2 before the story starts to go anywhere interesting.

Awwww I don't like the Let's Reads. Takes some of the fun out of it, in my opinion - especially in terms of the interactive flashes. Plus all the flashes look better on the site itself, if you ask me.

Buuuut I've rattled on about that enough for now. Don't want to force my opinions on you.

It's a webcomic. It's not a webcomic in the traditional sense, though, as instead of simply being a comic hosted on the web, it's made for the web, as nearly all the images are gifs, and nearly all dialogue is presented as IM's between characters, and there are even some cool flash animations and interactive segments.

As for the plot? Well, that's hard to explain while still doing it justice. Reeeaaal hard to explain. And telling people to "just go read it" doesn't work so well since, as we were just discussing, the first Act is really slow and doesn't resemble the rest of the story very well at all.

There are some nice fan-made trailers on Youtube that do a good job of introducing it, though. Here's one of my favorites. The voice-acting in it is done by fans but everything else (all the art, animation, and even the music) is straight from the canon.

Well I suppose I can't say I make them from scratch. I downloaded a program that turns video clips into gifs. Once I get raw gifs from that, I edit and caption them in Photoshop. Still rather time-consuming, but, eh.
