Might've not made this clear and I certainly won't bother enforcing this now but NPCs are actually paid Oracle employees which is why Ares was able to have a coherent conversation with Baggles. Heh. Let's just leave it.

By the way, does the public info work like an actual search, or does their user and health pop up when you open the ui?

You can see other player's HP bar and username by your UI. Now we wait for Xenoko. Wonder what the monk has to say about all this.

Edit: Up for vote, do we want "NPCs" as AI or Oracle employees (which is what I originally intended)?

I don't care one way or another. But you would think most characters couldnt tell the difference. Half of us appeared to jump in the game with little forethought, unless an NPC told you straight out that it was a real person, most would assume them ai.

That said, it isn't odd for them to be actual people, mistaken as ai by some, acknowledged by others.

If I were you I would leave them as real people for convenience and any plotting you had in mind.

Edit: with that information on the ui, I might just have Fool pull a party trick in an upcoming post.

My two cents...
Why not be both? Certain NPC's are employees masquerading as AI.
I suggest this because it seems highly unlikely to me that there would be a large group (dozens or even hundreds?) of game technicians who would be absolutely 100% cool with trapping all these players in a death game and then walk around like as peasants and shop keepers.

Also, AI dont have to log off to eat or sleep or live their life so it would make more sense why we can interact with certain NPC's all through the day, week, year, ect.

EDIT: plus, game this advanced would likely have AI smart enough to mimic real people very very well.

I'm not the GM, however, so I leave the decision up to you!
