"The dawn of a new world is approaching, and again we find ourself hovering on the cusp of destruction."

...come to the Town Hall at once. Bring no one with you. the ink on the paper would read as Jinora finished her last letter. It, just like the others, held the same message of urgency she was so desperate to get out right away. Her normally steady hands shook slightly, and she made a fist once she saw her calm demeanor was slipping. And how could it not? With the state of the world as it is, it made the woman question all that the past Avatar did while trying to bring a stop to the misuse of spirits. Today, they roamed free. Many of them were good spirits, helping people, guiding people... but where this is good, light, and peace...there is always evil, darkness, and destruction. It it was in the wake of that beginning destruction, that Jinora finally convinced the Spirit council of Republic City to find the one person alive in the world who could truely understand them.

The Avatar.

Ten letters she wrote to be sent out to a select few that her and the other council members decided on for reasons unknown to them, and reasons that would never be revealed. Their compliance would be non negotiable. It was either do as they were told, or die.

Jinora stood from her desk and walked to a small jar that sat on the open window. The cool night breeze blew the curtains towards her and they brushed her face as she opened the jar. "Spirits, I call upon ten of you to be my messengers of an urgent task." she spoke into the jar. Slowly and one by one the little odd looking spirits would climb out of the vase. and stare at her oddly, awating their orders.

"Deliver these to the hands of those adressed on the letters. Kindly return swiftly with news of their response." she would say. Slowly she reached out her hand towards them and would speak the names of the reciptants starting with her son and then the son of her brother Meelo. "Veilnus... Rin-Ketsu... Taero... Edios.... Akari.... Saekaera... Airi... Xia.... Jia-li..." With each name she spoke, a small spirit would step forward, open its wide mouth to eat the letter, and then jump out the window to be carried haphazardly in the wind. One would question wether they would even get their messages, but Jinora knew those spirits better than anyone. They would get there eventually.

With a heavy sigh, she tierd airbender woman returned to her desk. As soon as she would sit down, another spirit, this time of one that took the shape of a bird, would fly in through her window. One look at the spirit and jinora already knew what his news was.

"It has happened again."

"Not just one this time... an entire family this time. Children and all... faceless." The bird paused and looked just as upset as Jinora felt.

"Koh is at it again. There is no way we can stop him."
"Grrr, stupid good for nothing little-! NOOO!!" Akari yelled as she messed up the nose of her statue again. With an angry and frustrated sigh, she turned the whole thing to water and forcefully bended the puddle into the pond she sat next to in her backyard. Why was she making an ice sculpture in the middle of the night? Well, it was far from a choice really. She had to make one for a little gir'l birthday party tomorrow, and since ice sculptures had a shelf life of about ten hours, she couldnt have made it any sooner. This was how she spent many of her nights. Sitting in her backyard, sculpting ice into all different kinds of shapes. People, animals, places, plants, you name it. She could sculpt works of art, and the entire Republic City knew it. It was a gist she had, but as a result...she often found herself sleeping away her life during the day when she wasent working.

Akari had a great personality. Kind all the time, but firm when she needed to be. Her social skills that were once great were starting to get a bit rusty. Every day it was Sleep, eat, sculpt. That was all, and though she enjoyed it very much, she was longing for something more. something so much more than just the small backyard of her tiny home she could barely afford to keep. She did have one companion, and that was Dozo. Her pet Cat Deer she bought from a pet shop deep in the city. Along with the few turtle ducks that lived in the bushed near her pond, Dozo was the closest thing she had to a friend. Though he was just a kitten, no bigger than a small sake of flour, he was quite the adventurous type and more than once she'd have to explain to other pet owners why he picked a fight with other animals. It usually ended up with her saying, "C'mon he's just a kitten. he doesn't know any better."

Just as she was thinking about him, she heard his tiny growl from just inside the house. Picking herself up off the ground, Akari made her way inside to look for her pet. "Dozo, where are you?" she called. She saw him run up to her from the dark hallway. He let out a soft meow before prancing off towards the front door. Maybe we have a visitor? she thought as she followed him. Stretching her arms over her head as she reached the door, she opened it and looked out into the night. There was no one there. "Dozo, what are you-?" she gasped softly and jumped back in fright when she looked down to see a little spirit creature looking at her. Its head tilted slowly, then rattled back into place with a soft noise. "Ewwww." she said with a frown before nervously bending down and holding her hand out. The little spirit climbed onto her hand and she stood, closed the door, and walked inside.

She flicked the lights on in her kitchen then knelt once more to sit at the table in the center of it. Putting the little thing down on the table, Akari just stared at it, and Dozo walked over, seemingly confused at what the thing was for as well. He lay on the table next to it, his head resting on his paws. Akari reached out and sctarched his head, and the little spirit turned and patted Dozo's nose softly before turning to her. Akari raised a single brow as the spirits mouth opened up and out came a letter adressed to her. "I'm going to pretend I didn't just see that." she said to the little thing. At least the letter wasent wet with spit or anything. She opened it carefully and noted the beautiful script of whoever had wrote it before reading it out loud.

There was no sign off, just the brief, few lined letter that made Akari's blood run cold. If a council woman was asking for help, then hell she needed to step up. Though she was afraid and confused, this was almost what Akari was asking for. change. A chance to do something more than fret with ice in her backyard. She looked at the little spirit for a moment before she turned her head to Dozo. his small head rose from its resting place on his paws once she did. "What do you think Dozo? A little danger is healthy I heard." she said to him. Petting him once more, she stood and went to her room to change from her work clothes to her casual clothes. She untucked the hair that gped in her shirt before slipping on her boots. Dozo came running in and he stared at her. Glancing at him, she said "You're not coming with me. No way. I can't afford to let you get hurt." Standing once more, she moved past her pet and back into the kitchen to get the little spirit guy. Making her way to the door, she turned to look once more at her best friend. His brown eyes stared back into her amber ones and she sighed. "Oh come on then you baby. You slip up once its back home, got it?" He made a little meow of approval before running up to her. She knelt and he jumped up on her head, the perfect place for the little guy to stay out of trouble.

Akari closed her door and began a fast paced walk towards the town Hall in the dead of the night. Fear was working to help her for once as she took all the busy streets of the city on the way there. The threat of Jinora's letter was still in the back of her mind. What kind of threat was so urgent that the city would no longer be safe...? And more importantly, what the hell was Akari supposed to do about it. I sculpt ice for a living. What the hell did she see in me that made her think i could fight bad guys, or whatever this crap is all about? she thought to herself. Losing track of time in her thoughts, Akari was surprised to find herself at the Town Hall faster than she anticipated. She stood at the bottom of the large stone steps and stared up at the building.

Turn around Akari, this is bad. Your too weak to do anything heroic...

That was the thought that made her take the first step.

Xiu tapped her finger to the metal table in the room with four white walls. Four seemingly enclosing walls as the only decoration to be seen in the room was a long mirror. She looked at her own reflection revealing that her other hand was holding her head up by the chin. The next items she took note of in the room was the man in a jumpsuit who was bald and had a very unkempt beard. His hands were hidden behind his back, and the note that chains made clinging reminded her that they were tied there. The chair she was sitting on was connected to the floor; much like the table. Her taps rang out in a slow tempo before the sound of her voice broke what was a silence in speech between her and the man.

“Look, Taika, we have some options here and I wish for you to choose the better of the two. First, you confess and get off with two years. Good behavior and you can get off in one with parole. Second, you keep lying to and voiding my questions and end up in there for ten years and I still get the man I want.” Turning to him she gave her signature eye of annoyance. Giving him the feeling he was no more than dirt to her at this point. “I think it wise you choose the first, or else I might just not ask as nicely.” Her hand that had been on her chin picked up a glass of coffee she had and she took a drink of it waiting for his response. Upon putting the glass down she saw his sweating, hesitation, and finally acceptance to his fate. Bingo. she thought as the beans were laid out in front of her.

“It’s Johnathan Nash.” He said after a moment. Lowing his head in defeat he spilled it all. “I helped him get the plans to the building… he found that her could use the sewer to get to the building and did it. H…He is an earth bender! And can bend metal, he left the academy and force about ten years ago they say.” Xiu sighed slightly at the explanation. This meant she had a trained fighter to face, but a small feeling of excitement was in her. A challenge was always a good thing for her. She wished for it, and now she had it. Not knowing she was about to be unable to complete it with one letter. The reduced sentence was confirmed his reduced sentence to him and stated he was doing the right thing before she stood up from her seat.

She had been tracking a recent criminal who was on a terror spree in republic in damaging property and theft. Having hurt two civilians already her priority was stopping him before he eventually killed someone. Xiu finally got the information she needed to get him, and when she escaped the white room she had a large smirk on her face. Several members of the force ran up to her and congratulated her on her achievement. She had a name and a plan on hand and with it would easily find the man they are after. If it was accurate, but she was sure it was. Her plan was to head to the location now, but on her office desk there was a certain little spirit. It was a peculiar spirit with an oblong head which held a letter. She took the letter from it and read it. Suddenly it crippled between her fingers as she knew she wouldn’t be able to catch her crook after all. In a matter of moment she had ordered a few officers to head where she had planned and took her lead from the office. Even if she wasn’t in charge, they knew she told them to catch a major criminal and didn’t hesitate to possibly loose him.

Once outside she hoped on her trusty stead. Her stead was a motor bike that had you leaning forward to sit on it. Helmet on she then lowered her goggles and revved the engine. Listening to her baby purr she thought Time to ride. Quickly bolting off the curb onto the street heading to her determined place of meeting. She was confused as to how she got the letter, more so of her Master’s odd words the night before. He told her that a great change was going to occur soon in her life. For a moment she had been worried it was his final speech before death, but he simply coughed and said he wasn’t going to die so soon or easy. As her thought of the master finished she parked in front of the trademark Council Building. All of its glory led to a small excited smirk. She may be mad from losing her criminal chase, but her personality saw this as a new event unfolding. A mystery to solve, and possible action if this letter meant a matter of importance. She let out a small laugh to herself before setting her helmet on her bike and waking it whilst raising her goggles.

Quiet. It was quiet, like always. Saekaera had known silence for a long while now. It was comforting, to say the least. The last thing she spoke was her oath of silence, and she had muttered it quietly, almost under her breath. She sat in this comforting silence, her eyes closed. This place was away from the hustle and bustle of Republic City, but still within the city itself. It was a grove tended to by Saekaera, and many other silent monks. It was small, yes, and perhaps not the prettiest thing, but it was quiet. That was all that mattered. Sometimes, she would meditate here, and sometimes she would meditate with others. This was one of those occasions. An air bender had come to meditate with her, but she hadn't bothered learning who he was. All that mattered was that he wanted peace and quiet. Saekaera, just happened to know exactly where he could find just that.

And now, here they were. Peacefully dull; that’s what this place was. If you listened close enough, you could hear the sound of leaves touching the ground. It was always nice just to sit among the silence, less so with another, but still quite nice. That caused her to open an eye. She looked about, one eye still closed, trying to find the air bender. There he was, meditating. He didn’t look like the average air bender. He had jars filled with strange swirls. Saekaera watched the swirls with interest. What exactly was it within those jars? Saekaera didn’t see many aggressive air benders, so she was quite curious. Why was he meditating here anyways? What was he doing? Her other eye shot open to watch the swirls in the jars, and she let her mind wander.

Crush, crush, crush, crush. The sounds echoed in Saekaera’s mind. She didn’t see anything this time around, but she heard it. She always heard it. Crush, crush, crush, crush. Her eyes were still focused on the swirling gases within those jars, and while she heard constant crushing, she saw the strange swirls. She did not return to reality for a small while, and when she did, she caught herself still staring. Those jars raised a lot of questions, many which would probably go unanswered. That bothered Saekaera. She wanted to know what those jars were for. Her mind wandered once more, this time her eyes were closed. Those jars were very neat.

Crush, crush, crush, crush. It didn’t sound much like that, really, but the concept was still crushing. Perhaps she let the guilt consume her entirely, and that’s why she felt this way. The guilt ate away at her day in and day out, and she just let it. She was under no illusion that this was not her fault. She knew what she was doing. She kept crushing his now-softened skull, until it turned from a crush to a squish. She could have stopped after one blow. But she didn’t. She didn’t stop.

Again, she snapped back to reality, feeling as though she was not affected by gravity. Those swirls were very entrancing. She didn’t like it. They made her curious. She stood up to stretch and her Naginata fell from her lap, crashing into the stone on the ground and breaking the silence. She felt like an idiot, but she would not let that much be known. As Saekaera bent down to grab her Naginata, she noticed not one, but two strange little creatures. One ran straight to her, and she blinked. It was strange, but not scarily strange.

She blinked, trying to figure out what the small creature was doing. It took a letter out of its mouth, and presented it to Saekaera. She opened it, and read it to herself. She almost sighed, but she stopped herself. She took her oath very seriously, perhaps too seriously. She felt a wave of disappointment flow over her. They knew who she was, and that irked her. Silence doesn’t keep secrets well, she jested silently to herself. She looked back down to the small… thing… and shooed it away. It was distracting. She decided to get ready to leave, and so she turned to the air bender.

She did not look at first, and instead tried to signal him by hitting the stone ground with the wooden end of her Naginata. When she began to walk away, she did not hear the sound of footsteps behind her, and so she turned, a disappointed look on her eyes. Despite her interest in his very neat jars, she did not like it when people did not leave the garden. That’s when she remembered that two of the small creatures had come, and only one ran to her. The other seemed to be trying to grab the air bender’s attention. Saekaera was curious, and instead of going ahead by herself, she waited for the air bender. His jars were very neat. She’d probably get answers after all.

Veilnus had travelled for a long time since he left Air Temple Island, he had visited many settlements, and learned many things. Sometimes he would meditate to concentrate and contemplate on the important things he has seen or learned. This was one of those times. Veilnus had found a quiet place - perfect for meditation, except there was another there; a monk? He would have asked if he could meditate also, but she did not speak. Instead, she remained silent. Veilnus assumed he could remain; she likely would've had stopped him in some way had he not been allowed to stay here.

He sat, and concentrated. A harsh, yet concentrated and controlled wind swirled around him naturally, it happened whenever he began to meditate, and it somehow made him calmer, despite the nature of the wind. He remained in this state for a long while, even when the two mysterious creatures arrived. One when to the monk, while the other went to him. Veilnus never noticed this, and the create simply stared at him - occasionally tugging his clothing; until it decided that he wasn't going to leave his trance. It instead pulled the letter out of it's mouth, leaving it on the ground next to Veilnus before departing. Perhaps it was better for Veilnus to not see such a thing.

He left his trance not soon after, and immediately noticed a letter on the ground. He opened it up, and read it. He knew who this was from. "Of course." he mumbled.
He stood, and looked at the silent monk; he could see that she had a letter too. Did that mean that she was going to accompany him? Probably.

"Are we leaving?" He asked.

"Fight Fight Fight!" went the chanting of the night fight club in one very known area. Republic City, but not just Republic City, it was hidden in the depths of it and only the best of the best could find it. Airi smiled as she had on what seemed to be a remade water bender uniform. She had her basic Water bending shoes on but also wore the clothes of many non-bender individuals. She didn't wanna stick out as just a bended, but also wanted to stick out as a normal person.

"Welcome to the stage, Airi! She's new here, so please, be gentle." The announcer yelled as Airi jumped up onto the stage, a hood hiding her face from the public. Airi stretched her back slightly and smiled at the man who was in front of her, he was skinny but had a lot of muscles, definitely a challenge for her. “Ready, set, FIGHT!” the guy yelled, causing Airi to put her hands up in a defensive manner.

“Awwww…. Look at the tiny girl… You shouldn’t be here, you can get hurt, you will get hurt.” He taunted, which only caused Airi to scoff slightly. “That’s what you think, punk. I’ll give you time to run.” She taunted back. She flipped into the air and sent a kick to the side of the man’s face, but he didn’t flinch, he just grabbed Airi by the ankle and tosses her to the side, where she pushed off the wall when coming into contact with it and went flying, sending a punch straight to his face, causing him to stumble back.

“Stay one step ahead of your opponent. Analyze everything in the room. What could be a weapon and what could be fatal. Use the room to your advantage.” she stated as she landed back down onto the ground and cracked her knuckles. The man was furious now, he went to the girl and started to swing his large, meaty arms at her, in which she used her training back in the Air Temple to avoid, dodging from left to right. “Is that all you got?”

She jumped up into the air now, grabbing onto the light that hung from the ceiling and sent four quick kicks to his face, causing him to fall down. People looked at her in confusion, they didn’t know how she could be so good at fighting. She didn’t even do much! but it seemed to take this heavy, meaty guy off his feet. The reason was due to them being opposites. She was small and quick, he was slow and full of muscles. All it takes is one fast girl to take him off his feet.

As he came back to his feet again, she let go of the light and body slammed him, slamming his head into the ground, the final blow. As the crown started to cheer in confusion, Airi was given her prize, where she gratefully took it and left. Heading out of the club in seconds, she was down the street, hood still up and money in a bag in her pocket. That wasn’t all though, now there were three cloaked figures following her in the distance, probably wanted to make way with her money, but that wasn’t it, her hand was not becoming numb, an injury from her fall at the Air Temple. “Crap… Not now… I can’t bend without it..”
