Space, the final frontier...

These are the voyages of the starship TERPSICHORE- it's burgeoning mission to seek out new life and new civilizations...

To boldly go where no one has gone before.

The golden age of space exploration is in full swing and after years of grueling preparation you are finally ready to take your place as a crew member aboard the newly christened Terpsichore (turp-SIK-uh-ree). A galaxy class starship, she's still no Enterprise, but with a bold and loyal crew at her helm, her adventures may yet rival the greatest of them all. Whether discovering bizarre new lifeforms on distant planets, taking on missions of diplomacy and bureaucracy, or defending the galaxy from hostile forces, the brand new ship is ready and equipped to take all of it on.

So get out there and make waves!

*____________________________________*

RULES:

~If you want to play as a pureblood from an inherently hostile race (Romulans, Shapeshifters, Cardassians, half-Borg things, ect) YOU MUST tell me a pretty damn good story before it'll get accepted. The show has a lot of weird exceptions to it's own rules, but I'd like to know why the hell that person is there, and it has to be a good reason. Klingons are pretty much off limits because Worf is weird. Ditto for Androids. Everything else is fair game.

~Hybrids are cool too, because we already know everyone can make babies with pretty much everyone. Use common sense and any pre-established rules from the series though.

~Because it's Star Trek, it would be a crime to disallow awkward sexual tension and cheesy romance, but anything beyond that gets taken to PM or fade-to-black.

~I don't like RPs with limited slots, but with the way something like this is structured I don't have much other choice. I'll try to squeeze in as many supporting roles as possible though.

~More of a suggestion then a rule, but: Star Trek is a biiiig universe (literally), so have fun! Use your imagination! The possibilities here are practically endless, and that's why I chose this for the subject of an RP.

CHARACTER SHEET:

Appearance (Picture or description):
Personality (At least a paragraph):
Backstory (At least a paragraph):

CHARACTER SLOTS:

(I'm not big on the technical stuff, so tell me if I miss something/someone important!)

THE CAPTAIN - Kleiner Jorel

Large and in charge (and usually emotionally complicated). Likely to be a human because Starfleet but who knows really.

THE COMMANDER - Untaken!

The captain's right-hand-man (woman, person, oobygooby creaturething). In charge of yelling at people for not doing their job and taking over the ship when the captain is unable to command.

THE LIEUTENANT COMMANDER - Untaken!

Unfortunately, Starships have vice-vice presidents. Don't worry though, there'll still be plenty of chances for you to show off your badassery even if you never get lucky enough for the Captain and Commander to be incapacitated at the same time.

THE CHIEF ENGINEER - Untaken!

A starship is a beautiful woman, and you get to treat her like one. Or at least spend all of your time in the engine room whispering sweet nothings and beating on stuff with a space wrench or whatever.

The chief engineer has two assistants!

~Assistant One - Untaken!
~Asisstant Two - Untaken!

THE CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER - Himori Himashi

The doctor in charge of looking out for everyone's physical and mental health. Comes with the perks of being able to say "He's dead Jim!" ironically and bossing the captain around when he's sick.

The chief medical officer has two assistants!

~Assistant One - Untaken!
~Asisstant Two - Untaken!

THE CHIEF OF SECURITY - Untaken!

Got extra unused muscle and a ton of pent up angst? Like flipping tables a lot? Then this is the job for you! Tough stoic guys are preferred; just don't call him 'Constable'.

The chief of security has two assistants! (omg poor guys)

~Assistant One - Untaken!
~Asisstant Two - Untaken!

ENSIGNS - Five Slots!

Bridge bunnies. This is a great place for new recruits to Starfleet to get their footing and be seen. Also the captain probably hates your guts, but eh. It's a living. Terpsichore currently has five Ensigns per a special Starfleet Academy program. Let's just hope none of them are Wesley Crushers (<.< >.>)

~Ensign One - Untaken!
~Ensign Two - Untaken!
~Ensign Three - Untaken!
~Ensign Four - Untaken!
~Ensign Five - Untaken!

CIVILIAN CREW - Unlimited Slots!

A starship can't just have a working crew, and it needs a living one as well- these people are the population of a virtual star city and include all kinds of occupations ranging from teachers to salespeople to janitors. Maybe you're married to a crew member, or you're a scientist studying abroad, or you're just here for the free replicator food. Either way, the ship needs you to function just as much as anyone else.

CIVILIAN CREW LIST:

....None yet!

Don't worry too much, it sounds like a lot but it's not that intimidating. If you have any problems I can certainly help. First of all, basically every space opera thing ever is based on this, so don't think of it as being too different then any other thing in the same genre. I can also throw up some quick species descriptions if that's an issue.

Name: Himori Himashi

Age: 25
- Effectively immortal, they don't age after their prime, but can be killed by normal means, they can heal pretty fast though.

Gen: Female

Rank:
- Federation: Sensory Chemical Specialist/Medical Officer/Councilor
- Home World: Chemical/Biological Weapon Expert/Scientist II/ Chef Tech Developer/Seductress

Race: Succubus
- The Entire Race Matches the Mystical Seduction Abilities of the Succubus on earth... they produce very potent pheromones in every fluid their body produce and it is custom to make out with people they like. Their Saliva Can be used to make a Instant anti-Pheromone that is a 1 time use per incident, and it also is a Amazing cure for all additions... at the same time. Which makes making out with them very very lovely, it takes the edge off of the Contact addiction, and is like all the human pleasure in the world combined.... they are also great in bed too, and seem to suffer if forced to dress modestly. The Race also have a very Seductive voice, and Inhibitors were invented so they could talk normally to other races... because their pure voice would make people want to tell them anything, and do anything.... well anyone outside their own race.... people can resist though but it is hard. There is no Inhibiting the Pheromones though... just the cure drug that only works per incident... it can't be synthesized.

Planet: Lustrous VII
- A paradise for those seeking a good time, the entire planet is devoted to pleasure, and spreading such.... the military weapons are all made to make the enemies deal with themselves.... they have pretty advanced technology... and their weaponry is kind of different.... they also have a kind of shielding that is different too... so much so the Borg Leave them alone... as they held off a entire Borg armada.... including a Queen vessel.... they are not willing to share their technology.

Appearance:

Bio: Himori was once a Weapons Expert for Lustrous VII but was recruited when pirates, used weapons on the ship, to make the entire crew try to love each other to death... she now works some medical and such, and happy to go with them, her voice is always seductive, and she is also on board because her Saliva has a Enzyme that Fully removes all Addictions, and resets the receptors in the brain back to normal, basically she and her entire race are a walking cure for Drug addiction... sadly it can't be Synthesized.... she produces Pheromones that are addictive too, she isn't fond of people being addicted to her.... But she does her part, and if the Crew Encounter the Borg, she has the knowledge to make a weapons and shields to counter them.

Her Race has Laws against helping outsiders, even if they are being attacked by Lustrian forces.... so her helping the crew out, got her in a great deal of trouble, a Death Sentence on her planet even... so she escaped and begged the Captain to let her join.

I'll have to think about that, I really don't know about original species since that's kind of the thing I do in my other RP and I don't want to repeat myself. Also I know it's kind of your thing, but I'm not a big fan of the overly sexualized pictures or character concept for this RP. I mean, it's Star Trek, so there is a little bit of that, but it always tries to be at least somewhat kid-friendly and open to younger fans.

Also, this has nothing to do with your character, but I'd just like to say that the Borg are likely to get less exposure with me because I'm not as big on them (or Voyager and 7 of 9) like some people are. They'll be there, just probably not as arch villains.

^_^ that is fine :3 Also I don't plan on having her do over sexulized things, she was happy to get away from, her home world, but her race is rather sensitive to modest clothing and fabrics, she piratically has to sleep with silk sheets.

I am also a Star Trek Buff.... So I would know that what Himori did would be also her giving her home world the middle finger to live with as different race that may not understand her. She can develop weapons that are highly interesting and may help you.... she isn't a chef officer, she is just a officer.

The Borg are Promonant in the Delta Quadrant.... Himori's race developed a weapons to combat them that made Adapting useless...

"We will adda-----" BOOM
"Adapt to that" :3

Okay, as long as you can promise to stay within reasonable limits of the series. XD Anyways, it is about seeking out new life, I'm assuming they're discovering new species all the time...so should I list her as a medical officer's assistant or perhaps civilian crew?

Medical Officer :3 She has science to but she signed up for medical, she doesn't intend on developing any tech unless it is needed.

I was thinking about adding something about a science officer but I notice they're kinda sketchy about the specifics of what that means. I mean in TOS it's pretty obvious Spock is the science officer but in TNG there are a lot more people wearing blue (Plus, Bones, Dr. Crusher and Julian from DS9 all have blue uniforms, so it can mean medical staff too) and no one in particular gets called that.

That just shows how little advanced reading I've done in the expanded universe- All I've ever done is watch the shows since I was a kid and pick up what I can from them, so all of this just blows right by me. I'm sure some of those really serious hardcore guys would say I wasn't a true fan because of it. =P

Please do help, I'm floundering here.

My love of Star Trek besides nostalgia factor comes a lot from the character concepts- I'm a character stylist at heart, and I really appreciate the complex network of bonds and relationships among the characters, especially that 'cozy family' feeling that really evolves in TNG. I also know a little bit more about the biology of the races, because I'm a creature designer as well and find that interesting. As far as technical details like rankings and types of starships, let's just say reach me if you want to know anything and everything about Pokemon- but when it comes to 'Trek I'm dead in the water.

Name: Saval Goodspeed
Rank: Lieutenant (Helm)
Age: 26
Race: Lasthope Hybrid (Human/Vulcan)
Appearance :
Personality : Saval has a good sense of humor enjoying jokes an even innuendos, she is dedicated to the ideals and codes of Star Fleet and the Federation, insightful she sometimes seems able to make assessment and decisions based on little information or facts, aggressive Saval is a committed competitor, fearless she seems to thrive best when the chips are down but she is also known for her self control which is a byproduct of her time spent at the Vulcan Science academy

Backstory : Born on the accidental colony Lasthope Saval's early life was one filled with turmoil.
Her parents died when she was 3 when a tidal wave killed* everyone living on the Island her family called home, that is except Saval who was found in a boat drifting on the current ;she'd been playing in it when the wave struck.

Adopted by the Shran, Forester's* she grew up with 5 mixed siblings; 3 boys, 2 girls of Andorian/Human descent.
Her Foster parents had no knowledge of how to raise a Vulcan child and had to trust that they were at least raising her with honor and moral values.

At the age of 12 Saval began exhibiting the ability to read people around her emotional statesman she possessed extra-normal mental traits was no surprise but her area of specialization was, Vulcans were known to be an emotional race who had to train their own control less they be overwhelmed by their passions.

Her foster mother Lissan Shran taught Saval the Ushaan along with the devastating kick boxing art known as kharakomanda and brutal wrestling art known as hleshvalath. The hope was that the Andorian codes of conduct would at least enforce self control of Saval's aggressive tendencies through ritualistic combat and honor.

Saval grew quickly on Lasthope at the age of twelve demonstrating mental abilities that were outside of what was ascribed as normal for Vulcans, she was an empathic.

The council of Lasthope deliberated for nearly three weeks finally making her move in with two of it's senior members Rak'van Tolth a Rigelain who's former duties were as chief medical officer of the Asimov a Federation science vessel that had stranded them on Lasthope when it's core went critical.
Linda Wienmer who'd been an Ensign nurse now 143 years old.

While Rigelains might resemble Vulcans Rak'van was nothing close to Vulcan.
Saval's luck was to be born on a world with a low population of only 975 people, this low pop and it's spread out condition allowed her to practice her control to a degree of ability that the council was using her to mediate disputes when Saval was only fifteen.

When Saval wasn't meditating or performing her duties for the council she was usually found amid a rapt audience as she spun tales of the mighty San Francisco and her crew.

When Saval was seventeen the starship Voltaire exploring on the edges of what was once Klingon space found their accidental colony.

The Voltaire's Medical officer Sendat of Vulcan was shocked when he met Saval. Saval's behavior lead him to ascertain and at his urging four months after Lasthope's rediscovery that she be sent with all haste to Vulcan where her damage could be repaired and if not where she'd receive proper care.
Saval though not happy with the council's decision when they agreed with Dr. Sendak went to Vulcan.

While on Vulcan Saval was taken in briefly by her mother's clan but later released to the custody of the Science Academy because they judged her as too unstable emotionally.
While being studied and cared for by the Academy Saval requested to fill her free time earning a degree in probability theory and quantum theory.

It was while she was studying at the Academy that Saval found out that she had a cousin who taught law at Oxford.
Corresponding with him they formed a plan of defense so Saval might prove she wasn't Vulcan or Human but her own Species.

Her case went quickly when Saval called Lwaxana Troi a flamboyant and unrivaled mental expert to do a deep scan of her mind.

Saval and Ambassador Troi knew the Vulcan council would debate her stability but as she'd been breed with no aid or medical help they chose to attack along the lines of galactic evolution.

Proving that Saval's physiology was so different from either race was easy once they were combined with Ambassador Troi's agreement that even her method of thought differed from both.
Winning her case in Federation court Saval was now free to pursue a dream she once thought unreachable, she would attend Star Fleet Academy.

She was approached by Star Fleet medical and asked to join the Councilor's training program but turned it down.

Saval instead dedicated herself to achieving her dream of commanding an exploration mission. Taking every command and Tactical class she was allowed to attend.

On graduation she received an appointment to advanced studies at the Mars academy of War.

Saval is a character I developed for a Table Top LUG (Last Unicorn Games) RPG and her biology and personality is well developed
When I played her in a LUG campaign she shocked her Academy Rookies by making a Lewd Comment about another Cadets firm little but, they expected the usual Vulcan coolness but got the tropical girl who's people rarely wear clothes
It's why she gets along with Onions, Deltas an Beta zed
As an Empathy lying to her is a waste of time unless your brain type is so dissimilar as to be unreadable

She can if needed serve also a ship's councilor having been cross trained in the rudiments of Psychology though she's not known for pulling her punches

My character will likely be a Betazoid, it was a tossup between that and a Trill (because personality.) I don't actually have any established original characters because this is my first foray into roleplaying Star Trek, so I'm taking my time developing something.
