"You know what you three? You're not worth the effort today so have yourselves a nice snooty afternoon you losers. I'm not going to sit here and deal with a group of uppity girls and the loser from Baltimore." Jace said with a grunt as he turned around and Samson followed him and the faint mutterings of them calling them 'pathetic nerds' could be heard as they walked away. The only reason the two didn't get in trouble was because they were high school bullies with big boy pants and a possible career in the NFL. That went for Samson as well since from what I heard he was helping manage Jace's workouts. Or at least that's what his friends told him. "So yeah that happened....the freaking jerks can't go a day without being a pain in my ass it seems. But whatever we're grown ups now and we can take it. Or maybe I can but that's just me wearing my big boys pants and all. Not sure how girls mature after all I skipped sex ed in high school and took naps." Joey said with an immature chuckle.

As Jace and his friend Samson rounded off the bleachers they gave a small grin and ran into their favorite little nerd pal, "Hey~! There's my favorite little geeky pal how's it hanging lumpy. See any of those weird Japanese cartoons as of late." Samson said as he rounded on Rhett as they found a new target. "You know that a field filled with big sweaty men running around is no place for a kid like you." Samson continued as he laughed and pulled Rhett close to him rolling an arm around his shoulder, "Or maybe he's into that sort of thing being the sick little tentacle lover that he is." Jace said with a grin as a group of runners ignored what was happening or didn't notice and passed right by them. "I mean look at you, what girl would ever want a little man like you. Guys might be more acceptable towards you I suppose." Samson said with slimey tones coming from his mouth as he held Rhett tightly with his one arm.

Joey was about to get into what he was there for when he decided to make sure the duo of dumbassville were gone for the day when he noticed that they weren't. Worse they seemed to have found a new victim. Oh joy he knew exactly where this was going and he wasn't about to let that happen." "Excuse me for a moment ladies.". Joey said as he quickly got up and left his stuff there and jogged over to where Jace and Samson were, "What's up guys? Can't pick on someone who isn't as big as you?" Joey asked casually and friendly as if he was talking to a friend about a movie. "Oh so you think you're a big bad man Joe Joe?" Jace said with malice as he rounded on Joey while Samson pushed Rhett away from him and rounded on Joey from the side as well. Joey immediately got ready for a fight but thankfully that wasn't needed as finally someone arrived to help him, "Yo, you guys need to back off and get to where you're going no fighting on campus." Couch Bill Hanson said with a calm firmness to his voice as Jace whistled, "Alright Big B I won't start anythin' I was just messing with the dorks over here I'll back off. Come on Sam let's get back to your place." Jace said as Samson nodded his head and Couch Bill grunted, "If you don't say anything about this I won't I recommend just letting it go those two are problems but they're tough." Bill said as he went away. Joey breathed out easily and turned to Rhett, "Well man it's been fun I guess. I'm Joey Hawk don't think we met before but I'm going to get back to my girl friends over there. And no I'm not dating multiple girls. Can't tell you how many times people thought I was...." Joey said as if nothing had happened and turned around and went back to the bleachers without a second thought to the matter and sat back down, "So where was I?"

While he hovered around the Group, he watched the events unfold around him. The problem sorted itself out without his input, and he was fine with it that way. While he was happy to see that the two were leaving the others, he cured his luck as they waled over his way. While Samson was the weaker of the duo, Rhett couldn't escape from under his arm, and struggled to get free with no avail. "H-hey. Let go of me." He said to Samson as he continued to struggle. He was even more aggravated by the duo with the mention of 'those weird Japanese cartoons', as he didn't watch that kind of stuff. While it was true that he did watch anime and read manga, he wasn't one to read or watch any of the adult variety. He found it weird, and tried his best to stay away from it. The the next comment, Rhett was seriously considering attacking Jace and Samson, but knew that it wasn't the right thing to do, since they were bigger and stronger than he was. He just had to endure it for now and get revenge later.

The young man looked up as high as he could when Joey had walked over to them, and was curious to see what he was going to do. From what he had seen earlier, Joey didn't like Jace and Samson all that well either, so Rhett assumed that he was there to help him. He was forced to regain his footing after being pushed away from Samson, and soon after he did, he looked at Joey once again. Rhett got into a loose stance, but stood back up normally as Coach Bill walked over to the newly formed group. Rhett didn't say anything to the coach, and simply nodded in understanding. He knew that they were older, bigger, and tougher than he was, but he still wanted to be able to get in a few good hits on them.

Rhett turned to Joey as he turned to him and listened to what he had to say. At them mention of 'girl friend', Rhett immediately thought that it was some sort of polygamous thing, but his thoughts were put to rest moments later when Joey cleared it up. Rhett smiled calmly at him as he walked away, checking his watch just after to see if he still had some time before his next class.

He still had time, and with that, he smiled to himself. Slowly and cautiously, he walked over to the group that Joey was with, and waved shortly to them all before looking at the only male in the group. "Hey. I just wanted to say thanks for helping me back there with those two. If you need anything, just ask. I owe you for sticking up for me." His voice was calm and relaxed, but he was a little nervous inside about how things would turn out. There were currently three girls near him, and his mind was replaying what Samson had said previously about girls wanting to be with him. He knew that he should take it to heart, but the words still affected him.

'No problem!' Gale said, sitting back down next to Joey. 'Hey...' She looked up at Rhett 'Sit with us. We could use some more company!' Gale smiled at Rhett. She was open to more friendly people sitting with them. Gale never talked to Rhett, but she has seen his face down the halls a few times in the week that the college opened. 'Got a name?' Gale asked, hoping that Rhett would respond with his name. She quickly placed her two arms behind her, her hands resting on the ground, holding her back from falling flat on her back. She continued to stare up at Rhett, hoping for a name. She continued to hold the pose that she was in, it was slightly painful yes. But it kept Gale in a respectable position. After She and Rhett would get introductions out of the way, she would immediately spring back into the bet with Joey.

Alyssa just sat there as she listened to the conversation up ahead. She was reading her book, wondering what they were talking about but she didnt pay much attention. She looked up seeing Rhett walking towards them, she smiled waiving at him and got back to her book. It was so boring, and all she could do was hang out with her 'friends' and then school being boring as usual! It wasn't the typical happy fun days. All she wanted was something excited to happen! Nothing big or anything but something. Alyssa closed her book putting it back inside of her bookbag. "Alright. There we go!" and she got back to her friends.

"Alright guys well you see Professor Dom needed me to go and pick some herbs from the nearby forest area. They're quite common but he has papers to grade so he doesn't have time to get them. He's paying me plus anyone who I can get about a dollar per herb picked. Of course they got to be in good condition and what not." Joey said casually putting the whole ordeal behind out of his mind however as the other guy came over he shrugged casually and replied to him., "Oh yeah no problem dude I needed to take the duo of dumbness down a peg or two." Joey said with a smile as he cleared his throat and repeated himself, "So I was wondering if you guys wanted to help me make some quick cash and split the cash money for gas in getting there and back and whatever. I'd say we make a small profit, we get something nice to eat, and I drive you guys home. Of course you don't gotta go of course it's just an offer and I'll extend it to you as well if you're interested big guy." He said mentioning the new comer to the group as he chewed on another piece of gum and waited for their replies. "Of course going for a herb pick isn't very clean so bugs and crap may be out there just saying so before ANY of you blame me for bug bites." Joey said quickly.

Alyssa looked up at Jace as she smiled and nodded at him. The thought of helping others made her smile! Especially if they were going to get payed, so why not and help out? Plus. It's nothing big! Just picking up herbs and such. She stood up from the bleachers and walked towards Jace as she nodded with acceptence. "I will come with you! To pick up the herbs. I like nature and such." And then he spoke about there being bugs and having bug bites, which made her think twice but her answer was still a yes! Alyssa looked at the others as she stood next to Jace. "Come on guys! It will be fun. Its better then sitting down here doing nothing, haha." A laugh escaped her mouth, as she flipped her hair to her right side of her shoulder and waited for the others response, hopefully they could come!

Gale stood up. 'Yeah sure, I'll come. Bugs never bothered me anyways.' She said. She quickly picked up her bag, and began scrounging around the front pocket for something. 'If it means if we have to do some dirty work.' Gale started, pulling out what looked like a hair tie. 'Then I shouldn't have my hair in my face.' She finished, grabbing her long, dark brown hair and putting up into a pony-tail. She looked over to Joey and Alyssa, then to Rhett. 'Ready?' She asked, holding her bag by her side. Gale really didn't mind bugs, in fact she really liked spiders. She was always the one in the house to get rid of the spider in the household, mainly because her Dad was out on patrol. Gale pushed scratched her forehead and awaited a response from everyone else.

Rhett smiled a little more as one of them told him to sit with them. He complied happily and sat down on the bleachers, glancing at the woman who had just put away her book. The seemed nice so far, it was the most interaction he'd done with a group since he had gotten to the college. It was a pleasant change from his normal routing, and he definitely wouldn't have minded hanging out with them more often if he allowed them to do so. He turned back to Joey and listened to what he had to say. He wanted to join in, as it would give him a little money, as well as some time with the people he hoped he could call his friends. They all seemed like cool people to him, and he wasn't really complaining about the change.

"Sure, I'll join you guys. It sounds like fun." Rhett wasn't the biggest fan of bugs out there, but he wasn't afraid of them either. He had his experiences with small creatures before, and he decided from an early age that studying bugs wasn't for him. He wasn't all that interested in them, and decided to take up another study of science instead.

"I'm not sure about fun big man but one thing is certain. Taking some bug bites and pulling on some weeds for cold, hard, cash is certainly something I'm signing up for. Glad to see you all want a piece of the money. Good thing the others didn't come along." Joey commented as he stood up after getting all of his stuff together. "If you guys got classes later today I won't be able to drive you back just warning you all. I've got stuff to do myself so if you drive or take the bus go get into your cars in the case of the former or in the case of the latter just chill with me I got a minivan. It's not glamorous but it keeps me going from one place to another." Joey commented as he told them he was heading to the bathroom really quickly before he went to his car and told everyone where to meet him in a couple of minutes if they were going with him. If not he'd tell them to send him a text message.

"Phantom Ranger! Phantom Ranger!" Alpha Five exclaimed as Phantom turned around quickly to see what was going on. "What's up Alpha?" Phantom asked in his raspy voice, mostly due to the voice system built into the suit he wore, and walked over to the screen and behind his mask he frowned deeply. "There's a group of puddies in the forest! What are you going to do there's a lot of them! If only Zordon was here he'd know what to do." Alpha said as Phantom silently stared at the screen. He turned away quickly and went over to a console and started the teleportation sequence. "Alpha I'm going to take them all on." Phantom told Alpha patiently as the robot scrambled to help. But Alpha voiced his objections as he did so. "But you're alone and there are no more power rangers! Are you sure you can take them all on!? I think there's too many of them and I don't want you getting hurt!" Alpha said worriedly as Phantom grunted and chuckled, "You know Alpha you haven't lost your charm all of these years. Don't worry no grunts can take me on and there's no monster so it looks like whoever is behind this all hasn't consolidated power yet. With luck I can stop this before it gets bigger. Besides they're in the forest what are they going to hurt some shrubs? I'm setting myself nearby I don't want to be teleported on top of them. If I know one thing about these things is that they don't have a spec of intelligence more than a single pea." Phantom said with confidence as he vanished in a flash of greyish black energy.

Some time later....

Joey had finally got his stuff together and had driven with his companions towards the site he was talking about. Thankfully traffic had been low and the ride was nice due to the air conditioning. "So guys how's school going?" Joey asked the people in his van patiently as he kept his eyes on the road to watch out for nearby pedestrian hunters and or the local deer. God forbid he ran over a god damn skunk. "MAN I am not looking forward to getting bug bites Joey said with a sigh as he waited for his companion(s)' response(s). .

As Alyssa nodded towards Joey, she walked back to the school handling a research paper that was due today. Since she was going to go somewhere with Joey and the others! "Thanks." Alyssa said and turned around looking at her phone and noticed a text where Joey told them to meet him at. Alyssa nodded and made her way towards him! As she got there she could see his car and Joey inside. She got in, raising a leg ontop of the other as she sat down. "School is going okay. Nothing big. And ugh... I hope so too! I dont want to get all bitten up by bugs. I hate them." Alyssa shooked her head taking out her phone and texted her mom that she was going to be a little late home.

Gale nodded and followed Joey towards his car. She used the driving time to quickly text her father where she was going. He was a cop after all, he could put up missing people reports in a heartbeat.

Anthony: You sure it's school stuff?
Gale: Yeah dad, drugs. Me and my friends do hardcore drugs
Anthony: Haha. Text me when you're done. Remember I can put up missing people's reports in the blink of an eye.

Gale shut her phone and noticed that they've arrived to the site. She hopped out of the car, and looked up. The trees were huge, and magnificent, perfect for climbing. 'Alright shrub wizard. Were do we do start?' She asked Joey, looking over to him.

"I have some classes to get to later, so I'll just meet up with you all there." Rhett told the group as he left to go and get his car. While it wasn't the prettiest thing around, it was in fair condition, and the only real reason it wasn't all that glamorous was because he had other things that were more important to him than cleaning out his car filled with notes and papers of all sorts.

The young man followed behind Joey as he drove to the site that they would be regrouping at, and sat patiently in his car, playing music that a person like him wouldn't usually be listening to. For a study a few years ago, he had studied several genres of music and their affect and mark on society. It was at a time when he was still figuring out what he was going to be spending his life doing, and although many of the genres he learned to love because of that study, researching demographics, cultures, and subcultures wasn't what he was planning to continue to do. He loved listening to the powerful guitar riffs of late eighties through early nineties rock, and felt that it was much better than the music today,

As Joey rolled his eyes at the fact that his friends couldn't simply chill out and chat without the need to text on the phone or whatever the flying hell they were doing. God knows girls were still an entirely different species to boys even to Joey at his age. They were like rabid hyenas when it came to dumb stuff like 'who's hotter Richard or Cameron from the series Morning' every little thing they did made him question if they were mentally sound. That being said he also did some stupid things himself so who could say what was stupid and what was not? Certainly not this guy. "You know you guys could talk a little more to each other instead of playing on the phone we could play eye spy or some other game...I'll stop talking now those are LAME ideas." Joey stated plainly bored as he mumbled to himself.

...It'd been a while since the Phantom Ranger had faced odds like this and come out on top but it was him and he had confidence in his ability to beat some walking meat shields down...assuming these things were made of meat. Putties were simply the most generic combatants in the old king's army and he knew that despite all of his time spent on other worlds Phantom had not come across something so dull as them....hell some rocks were more colorful than them. Phantom was surrounded on all sides as he blocked and pushed back the putties one at a time with swift kicks and jabs thanks to his suit's ability to augment his abilities.which were already substantial to start with. "You ugly bastards didn't get the memo your king's gone get going already!" Phantom said as he beat the nearest ones to him with his free hand and his feet while using his other to quickly gun down the ones using a blaster from space. His spinning and weaving were almost blinding when a group of putties decided to break away from Phantom and before he could aim at them he was finally grabbed from behind, "You know you really have the worst timing!" Phantom said struggling as Putties piled on top of him. "God damn it!" Phantom said as he managed to knee one in it's weak spot before kicking the one behind him's leg out from beneath him and punch the third that had come near him. He couldn't let the group report back to their master whoever it was! But first, "I'll need to deal with you guys first!" Phantom shouted as he continued his fight.

Some minutes later....
Joey had decided to take a split second choice to take his eyes off the road. That was all that it took....

Joey slammed on the breaks rather suddenly after he felt the car slam into something, it wasn't a road bump because Joey felt the impact shiver through the car. "What the hell!? REALLY it was probably a skunk...I'll go check to see what I hit...Freaking wild life." Joey complained as he exited the car. "Feel free to stay inside you want it'll only take a moment but if you want stretch your legs for a bit." Joey told the girls as he ran his hands through his hair as he breathed in deeply. "Alright time to be a big man Joey it was just a raccoon...or a skunk. It's going to be icky but what can you do?" Joey stated to himself as he hated nasty things like dead bodies no matter what species they were. When he came to the front of the car he saw what he didn't expect to see however. A man sized big grey creature plowed just underneath his car. "What the fuck are you?" Joey stated as he dragged the thing out and noted it felt weird. "Well this isn't normal...is this thing a human or is this some creepy pasta shit right here?" Joey asked himself as he looked at it with his eyes wide open. It didn't look human that was for sure and what weirdo would be out in the middle of the woods with something like this on? Joey noted it was twitching slightly and that it clearly couldn't get up because....well he ran it over with a car. "Hey guys come see this!" Joey called.

Gale slowly peaked her head out of the car, and got out. She walked over to where Joey was, and looked down at the thing they ran over. Gale placed her hands on her waist, and tapped the thing with her foot. Nothing. 'Well.' She said, looking over to Joey. 'You killed it.' She jokingly finished, looking back down at the creature, or what ever the hell it is. 'But in all seriousness. what the fuck is that?' she asked Joey, slightly concerned as she looked over to him again, strands of dark brown hair falling against her face. Gale pushed the strands back behind her ear and placed her hand back on her waist. 'Could this day just get anymore... Awkward?' She asked herself, hoping that she wouldn't jinx it and something 'awkward' would happen.

As they stopped the car. Alyssa peaked out of the car and got out with Gale. As she walked toward the thing they crashed, she covered her mouth with her hands and looked away, scared and wonder what the hell that creature thing was! A tear escaped her eye as she walked towards the car getting in. She has never seen something like that before, so she prefered not to be close to it. She admired, Gale so much because she was tough. Alyssa wasn't that tough but she could be...sometimes. She sighed sitting on the car waiting for Joey and Gale. "Come on guys. Please." Alyssa didn't want to be here, maybe she shouldn't ever came.

Seeing Joey's van suddenly stop in front of him, Rhett hit the breaks and sat in his car for a moment. He wondered what was going on, but he was sure that one of them would tell him if it was important. He was in there for a good moment listening to Foreigner before he heard Joey's voice call out to him and the others faintly. The young man turned down the radio and unbuckled his seat belt before getting out of his car to see what was going on. He walked over to his new friends to see what was going on, and was surprised to see what was in front of the van. He stopped in shock at the sight of it, and took a gulp before hesitantly stepping towards it.

"What it that thing?" He asked quietly, studying the humanoid thing with his eyes as he stood at a small distance. "It's obviously not human, that much is for sure." Something about that was vaguely familiar about them to Rhett, but he had no idea where he had heard or seen anything like that grey being before. "We should probably just go and let the animals pick at it. They'll be much more tolerant to that thing than I am."

"I don't know what's going on but I agree with Alyssa we need to get going and we need to get moving quickly. Whatever this thing is it's not any of our concern." Joey said as he proved it wasn't human by running his hand from the tip of the neck all the way to the top. "Unless the costume is full body and has a zipper then this thing isn't hu-" Joey started to comment as suddenly from out of nowhere he was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground. A group of ugly monsters, about six of them, had surrounded the group and they were clearly not happy to see them. Joey hit the pavement hard but quickly got up only to be kicked in the back and punched in the gut. "OW what the hell is h-" Joey tried to say as he got knocked around like a pinball between three of them before he managed to kick one of the in the leg tripping it. "Looks like we have no choice now guess we're going to have to fight these things! Wasn't expecting this to be perfectly honest." Joey shouted to the group while one of the three broke off Joey after he kicked it in the face and decided to let his friends deal with Joey instead while his friends charged after the other guy in the group while the other two charged the two girls. It looked like they had a basic sense of tactics at the very least. Two teamed on the boys while the girls got one of their own to deal with.

Gale watched as Joey quickly got knocked around before tripping one. One of the freaks approached Gale at an alarming speed, hitting her square in the gut. She took it in, and grabbed the back of the things neck. 'Hey!' She said strictly, Kneeing the monster square in the stomach 3 or 4 times before slamming her foot down on its own foot. She quickly punched the thing square in the face, forcing it to take a few steps back. However, the creature just... took it in and ran towards Gale again. 'This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder!' Gale muttered to herself, as she prepared for the monster to strike again.
