[OOC] Reality Shock, a Highschool Reality Show Roleplay

In the vein of Survivor, Big Brother, and even the cartoon Total Drama, a group of teenagers have been chosen to compete during summer vacation at a mansion in Hollywood. They will be divided into teams, will have to compete in weird and/or dangerous challenges, and will have to vote each other off until one teen remains. That person will be the winner of one million dollars.

With drama amongst the contestants, friendships and romances forming, and the weight of a million dollars at stake, who will claim victory as the winner of the first season of Reality Shock?

Rules.

1. One-liners aren't permitted due to this being Casual. However, this is low Casual, so a paragraph is the minimum. If you wish to write more, be our guest!
2. No god modding/bunnying/etc. You can't win every challenge.
3. IC Drama is obviously cool because this is a reality show roleplay. But no OOC drama, please. You'll get one warning. If you have to be warned a second time, your character(s) will be disqualified from the competition.
4. You may have 1-2 characters per person. However, to make this more balanced on genders, if you make more than one character, your second character must be of the opposite gender.
5. Alliances are allowed but they must be established in character, not in PMs. Deciding who you want to vote off with your alliance though, can be in PMs, however, to keep the votes anonymous.
6. When you vote, you will PM me your vote. Please do not vote characters off OOC. Your character must always vote as you think they would vote.
7. More of a note to myself than anything, if I as the GM end up making contestants, their votes will always be randomized as not to introduce bias.
8. More rules may be added in the future.

Name: Sasha "Hashtag" Nylund

Age: 14

Appearance: Sasha is a white 5'7" female. She's of average body size. She has light brown hair tied back in a ponytail a she has peekabangs over her left eye that she dyed pink and curled at the tip, which doesn't go with her hazel eyes too well, but she doesn't care. The weirdness doesn't stop there, as she wears a dark blue tee shirt, a fake leather sleeveless jacket, wears lots of golden bracelets on her right arm, a black choker, a poofy white skirt, pink tights with multicolored polka dots, and shiny light purple ballet slippers. She ties it all together with a light blue sash belt thing that she puts her pins on.

Personality: she's very mature for her age, but knows that she still has a lot to learn. She tends to assume the best of people and in turn think they will do the same, but she's not stupid and knows when someone's being a bastard. She doesn't like talking to people much and prefers to just go online instead, but she's to talk to anyone as long as they start the conversation if they aren't friends and she has a limit to just how much she can socialize a day. She doesn't give a damn what people think and will do what she thinks is right even of people get upset with her or doesn't like what she has to say. Even if the worlds against her, what's wrong is wrong. She tries to be kind and respectful to everyone, but piss her off and it's a whole other story. She tends to act like the worlds a stage, and she loves it.

Like: tumblr, learning about people, creating head canons, doing things ironically, night bloggers, lesser known game related you tubers (PBG, ProJared, JonTron, Did You Know Gaming, Game Grumps, ScrewAttack, AVGN, Game Theory, Gaijin Goomba, TOME, so on and so forth) along with Smosh Games and jacksfilms, Oreos, video games, fandoms, and people being nice.

Dislikes: Hatred, assholes, people that bike in places without bike lane, bras, expensive things she wants, sexists/racists/homophobics/transphobics/etc., pretty much stupid, ignorant people, bad grammar, when people don't get here references, James (long story), a whole lot of other shit, and when people assume that she thinks she's some sort of saint because she's a vegan (she's not, she knows she's not, and actually really likes meat herself, she just doesn't like how animals are treated for said meat, but blames no one for eating it).

Strength: Good at observation, pretty strong, very intelligent, good at video games, ridiculous memory, decent artist and writer

Weaknesses: Stupid comments truly stump her, puzzles, very lazy, sometimes tries to be clever but fails, and she absolutely cannot wake up early, because once she's up, she's not going back to sleep until that night.

Phobias: Any bug or bug like creature, diseases, accidentally hurting people, and some serious trypophobia (the fear of small clusters of holes, think beehives)

Why Reality Shock? It was this or volunteering at a retirement home.

History: Her life is fairly uninteresting, she has two loving (but sometimes overbearing) parents and has an older brother who got a weird illness about 7 years ago and hasn't even talked to Sasha in 6. She knows he's probably dead, which makes her awfully sad.

Personality: Tatiana is usually a bit of a mixed bag. She often tries to be the best person she can be, trying to be polite and welcoming to others. She has a 10 minute rule, she gives someone 10 minutes before deciding on a first impression, this keeps her from judging others harshly or by only their appearances. She is a bit of a perfectionist, if she has to do something, she will do it well, however she is also kindof lazy, so getting her to do something she doesn't want to is quite difficult. She can be impatient at times and stubborn, she also has a fairly short temper and bad language. When she is in a bad mood, she can be extremely sarcastic. She is intelligent and a bit of a spelling and grammar Nazi. In her hometown she is known to always throw parties for her close friends, being a bubbly and fun person to hang out with. She's outgoing and caring.

Likes: Video games (Assassins Creed, Fallout, Portal, League of Legends, World of Warcraft.. etc etc.) Board games, Anime and Cosplay, Japanese culture, animals (She works at a pet store) adventure, puzzles, sweets, all her pets.

Dislikes: Trying new food, meeting strangers, the dark, thunderstorms, rudeness,

Strengths: Despite the fact that it causes her great anxiety and discomfort, many would say that she is great at getting along with strangers. She always has a happy smile when she meets others, and generally gets along with most people. She is athletic, a good runner and swimmer.

Weaknesses: She has developed asthma, making it difficult for her to run fast for long periods of time. Anxiety and insomnia keep her awake at night. Also she is allergic to practically everything (ask her, she'll tell you). She really has no arm strength, so don't ask her to do any pull ups or climb ropes and shit. Oh, and she has a potty-mouth.

Talents: Great with people and animals. Good at running and swimming.

Phobias: She's alright with bugs, but centipedes make her cry. Needles give her panic attacks. And being buried alive or left alone in the dark.

Why do they want to be on Reality Shock?: Why not? Seems like fun!

History:
Dina has had a relatively happy life. She was born in Russia, but moved to California when she was four because her father got a transfer. She had a small but good group of friends that she always played with at lunch and recess times. Sadly, her father was posted again, this time to New York, so at the end of 3rd grade, she moved to a small apartment with her family. At the end of 5th grade she started having a bit of trouble, she started getting bullied, it got worse the next year when she went to middle school. Because of this, she shut herself away with cartoons, mainly anime, and video games. Ever since then, gaming and making costumes has become a hobby for her and she does it in any spare time. At the start of high school she realized that she never wanted to be like the kids that bullied her. She decided that she would be accepting and warm towards those around her, and since then has lived up the that promise.

Name: Josephine Ryan

Personality: Josephine is very quiet and keeps to herself most of the time. When it comes to computers and technology, she's your gal! She also loves to solve riddles and puzzles, and is very good at it. Her grades have always been at least a B average, because school always comes first with her. She dreams of going to Harvard law school and becoming the best lawyer that she can be. Physically, she is in pretty good shape. She goes to the gym every once in a while, but nothing special.

Likes: Computers, her cell phone, books, anything to do with solving puzzles. She loves fashion, and always has something new in her closet. She is in love with old school hip-hop and r&b, and she's always reblogging things on Tumblr. She's basically signed up on every social networking site, though she doesn't really talk to people in person.

Dislikes: The outdoors (Allergies), and bugs. Anything to do with water. She hates anyone that is full of themselves, talks back to her, or shows just an ounce of disrespect. She is also willing to put hands on anyone that comes near to hurting her twin brother. Awkward silences and being around people the she doesn't know are also strong dislikes.

Strengths: Her intelligence gets her very far. She is also very good with words and can talk her way out of anything. She's a great liar, which sometimes comes in handy.

Weaknesses: She isn't the best with physical activities, but she isn't terrible. She can barely swim, and panics whenever she is near a large body of water.

Talents: Computer hacking, which she isn't very proud of. She is also fluent in Spanish and French, and is currently working on German.

Phobias: Water, water, and WATER. If she so much as touches a large body of water, she will go crazy.

Why do they want to be on Reality Shock?: Her brother talked her into it.

History: Josephine and Derek were born on August 12th in Atlanta, Georgia. They grew up in a "ghetto" neighborhood, but when their father got a better job, they finally got to move to LA. From then on, they've had a pretty good life. Josephine was the smart one, and Derek was the athletic one. Whenever they weren't in their classes or with their friends, they will always be seen together. That was, until their parents died. Josephine and their parents were on their way back home when their car flipped over and landed in a river. Her parents couldn't get their seat belts unbuckled, and drowned. She didn't have hers on. From that day on, Josephine has been deathly afraid of water, (oceans, rivers, etc) and even though Derek didn't understand her phobia, he still helps her through it. When no one else stepped forward to take them in, their neighbor adopted them when they were eleven.

Personality: Derek is very opinionated, and has a very big mouth. He is often known for not being able to keep secrets, and for spreading rumors. His excuse? Because it's fun. He's an overall fun and rowdy guy, and he is very protective over his "little" sister. (A few minutes apart.) He loves sports, and can't go a few days without going out for a jog. He keeps his body in shape, and eats right. When it comes to school, he usually has straight C's. That's only because his sister lets him copy her a couple of times. Okay, maybe more than a couple...

Likes: He loves the outdoors. he could stay outside for hours. He also loves to swim, rock climb, and do anything physically challenging. He's a big fan of rap and hip-hop, and always updates his Instagram. His favorite artists are rappers like Kid Cudi, Drake, and Lil B.

Dislikes: He absolutely hates country and pop music. He also doesn't like anyone who is mean to his sister. He's scared of heights.

Strengths: Anything that requires physical strength and agility.

Weaknesses: He isn't the smartest person in the world, well, according to his GPA.

Talents: He's very good at sports, and just like his sister, can smooth talk and charm just about anyone if he chooses to.
