Apologies if this has been suggested already, I ran through Jorick's blessed collection and did not see it (wonderful idea, really!).
My idea is simple in nature. Like the Big Mac with three buns, I believe our RP threads could benefit from the ability to create an additional tab. All jokes aside, I find this could allow the ability to build off other roleplays, inspire GM collaboration (perhaps allowing new GMs to work with more established names), and additionally aid in creating that inner-community feel. Here's an example:
A popular fantasy RP runs through a wonderful set of plot arches until finally the GM believes its time to wrap things up. They intend on continuing the RP, but hear alternate imaginings about how to do this. 1) Continue in the world 100 years later & 2) Continue w/ a group parallel to the first. Rather than choosing one or the other, they simply open a second IC tab. One is designated for idea #2 and the other #1. New and old players become involved in this world, sharing similar pools of knowledge and coming together as a whole with their ideas and reflections.
I also understand there may be a few concerns. One would be people continuously adding tabs and stuffing their RP. To that, I'd suggest a limit of 4. This provides 2 OOCs and 2 ICs if necessary, or some other combination. I would also point out that many RPs simply remain in the same thread, choosing only one possible idea, or if they do continue on -- well, I don't see many Part III's. Another concern may be that this seems superfluous. I'd suggest that the idea would allow for a "persistent world" structure that is actually possible to maintain with one or two GMs. If the OP is able to mark themselves and others as GMs (therefore having some editing abilities w/in their threads) this idea would only become more useful.
I'll only state that this idea can wait. I believe it could be a positive feature, but I recognize other areas deserve your attention first, Mahz. Just thought I'd let you mull over this idea. You're doing great work so far!
