This is an old idea of mine I've posted on another forum without much success, but I'd like to see it happen. It's in casual because I would expect realism in the roleplay, and good character development, however the nature of this roleplay is fast paced posting which could result in shorter posts. This would be a shorter roleplay where you have to fight your way out of the alien base and back home. Many of your characters will die - that's expected, and it's part of the experience. The combat would be partially based on dice rolls to keep the game fair, but it would be weighted by what's actually happening. Your characters can be from any time period in Earth's history.

The concept:

One day, you looked up into the night sky and wondered if we're all alone in the universe. That's when you were overwhelmed with a bright light, and you got your answer. You only wish it had been different. You've been abducted by the Peregorns, a race of aliens that has been kidnapping humans for... who knows how long? You've seen what appears to be cavemen in the Exhibits.

No matter when you were abducted, it hasn't felt like all that long of a time you've been here, although back on Earth most would call it 2014. You're frozen in some cryogenic machine most of the time. Other times, you're taken out and experimented on. But all that is fuzzy. The machine does something to your brain, and makes you forget a lot of the time you've spent outside of it. The memories are fuzzy, and come back in bits and pieces. You don't know many things, but some things are known by every captive human:

First,

You were abducted. By aliens. It might seem unbelievable, but it happened. These aliens seem to know English, and they've somehow made all of the kidnapped humans understand it too. You haven't talked much with them, but you know they're called the Peregorns.

Second,

You don't actually know what they look like, because they always wear mechanical suits that cover their entire body. They're slightly taller than humans and appear humanoid. You can't distinguish gender. Their heads are larger than the average human's, and their feet and hands are longer. You guess that they wear these because the atmosphere inside the Facility is made to suit humans, not aliens.

Third,

These Peregorns are extremely scientifically advanced. They seem to favor robots and other mechanical things heavily. You know you're not on Earth because you can look out the window and see an orange sky, with no less than eight tiny suns dotting it. The ground is brown and rocky, almost like a desert, and there are large alien buildings that are few are far in-between.

Fourth,

You know you're in some sort of building, not a spaceship. It's a gigantic building, but you've been confined to a holding bay where you're kept in cryo, or on a lab table.

Fifth,

You aren't the only human held captive. There are dozens, maybe even hundreds held in the same building. All from Earth, but from different time periods. You've seen women in old Victorian dresses, men in Roman armor, British redcoats, African tribesmen and much, much more. But you don't know *why* you're all there.

Sixth,

You know a way home. The aliens didn't fly you all the way to this distant planet. They *teleported* you here directly from Earth, to this very building, on the opposite side of where you're being held. It's always been a small, but persistent dream that someday you could return to that teleportation pad and return home...

Until one day, when that dream becomes a reality. During a lightning storm, the power shuts off to a small selection of cryo pods. Such a freak accident, the Peregorns don't even notice. But it frees you from your captivity, along with a handful of others. It's the first time that you've been conscious without a Peregorn forcing you to do something.

It's your only opportunity. You have to escape. No matter the cost.
