The tides of war is upon you, young knights and sorcerers. But fear not, for I have found the path to heaven, to the gods themselves. So hold this world alight with your raging fires and know that I shall return, Triumphant.
-Last words of the Mad King IllonizesIts been nearly a thousands of years since the Mad Kind, Illonizes descended into a ancient tomb of the old world, never to be seen again. But his words still lives, his words a curse that ended up shattering the once glorious Empire of Adrania into squabbling, petty states and kingdoms, all vying for power and glory. His crazed ambition twisted races to try and eradicate one another. It drove the drove the Hari', by humans known as Elves, to turn on their own brethren. The Light elves, the gorgous Luni-Har, lost themselves to their own vanity and sun worship, blinded by it's light. The Dark Elves, the Mandi-har, forsake the world, seeking perfection in rebirth and starting a morbid death cult in hope to achieve perfection. The Wild Elves grew more feral then ever, more resentful of civilization and more isolated from the other races as a result.
His curse made the serene Tindras, mighty people of the sands to folly, made forsake their god and loose their immortality as result. Once more long lived and controlled then even the Elves, they are now cursed with fleeting and short lives, slaves to their impulses.
The Mad Kings words carried down into the tunnels underneath the mountains, and even poisoned the great Dwarf Jarls for generations to come. It made the dwarves lose themselves to greed and gave them endless ambition, to dig, to mine, to hoard.
But Worst was the fate of The shadow borne. Their own darkness became a curse, their kind mistaken for demons and hell-fiends. Their status as scholars tainted by false rumors of necromancy and vile experimenting. Their place in the world became one of constant witch hunts and persecution. They all but went extinct at the hands of the “good”. Only small pockets survived in
Uliar, the world of strife and endless war lies on the brink of a new disaster, just as it for the first time has begun to recover. It's the old tombs, uncovered in the north, that whispers of a second coming, the birth of a new Mad King. This is the story about those that would play a part in this new crisis. And how their actions would influence everyone forever.
Gods of Uliar
Religion plays a big part in a lot of the politics and wars that ravage Uliar. While the pantheon quite host more then hundreds different, minor deities, some more obscure then the others, there has always existed the Eight of the Infinite. These are the oldest of gods, the ones said to once have created Uliar. Legend tells that each of them have fought the other, and that now they are all to grievously wounded to directly meddle with the world. In their place, the minor gods interact and manipulate as the Eight recuperate and heal for Aeons still.
Death Goddess Mortina: Patron god of the Mandihar, Mortina is the great constant. She is what allows things to die and pass on to whatever fate awaits their spirit. Neutral in her view upon life she does not take pleasure from ending them. He merely sees it as her task to allow room for new life. Mortina bestows her most devote followers the power to wield death as a tool. Not to be mistaken with necromancy her blessing does not make undead, but merely turns her followers into finely honed killers. To Mortina necromancy is the greatest taboo and her followers tend to persecute necromancers and necromantic beings.
God of Light Suin: The god of light known by many as simply "The Light". Suin is the patron god of most humans as well as the Luni-Har who consider themselves his chosen people. He is considered the justest and kindest of the gods. He allegedly created all of the elves in his own image and lifted the Veil of dakness from human hearts, leading them into the light. It is for this very reason, Luni get along better with humans then any other race. He bestows followers with Light and Holy magic.

So instead she makes sure her followers treat death with dignity and do not fear it, but teaches everyone that they need to care for their lives and one another before the final embrace finally come. She bestows great healing power to her priests and priestesses.

His darkness even corrupts life and death, creating the undead. His followers are many but secretive. Assassins, Demon Lords and Necromancers follow Zails dark gospel. He bestows many a dark power upon his chosen, the main talent being Necromancy.
Elana Goddess of Creation: The goddess of creation is the oldest of gods. She created all the other gods and gave them their tasks in creating Uliar. Her loneliness created Hesele, her rage created Kartan, her fear created Zail, her sorrow Mortina and her hope Suin. Realizing that the gods that manifested from her feelings needed balance, she created The Twins out of her pride. Elana as a godess is worshipped mainly by Wild Elves and Dwarves. Most minor creation and life deities are tied to her. She bestows her followers with the powers of nature and empathy.
Kartan God of Destruction: Kartan is the rage of elements, the unforgiving wind, the raging heat, the crushing waves and the trembling earth. Kartan was made so gods could be unmade. He is the strongest aside from Elana and he personifies the elements. All minor gods and dieties tied to specific elements are tied to him. His followers tend to be violent outcasts or people who's talent for destruction such as warlords and the like. His gift is generally the power of the elements, a raw and powerful talent that takes lifetimes to hone perfectly.

The two kingdoms are both heavily populated with Luni-Har and Dwarves, with humans making out the third biggest demographic.
