Well if this is 1953 I could technically still have Stalin in power for a few more years. Shit, I might just do that. Maybe he survived longer?

That would be lovely, all depends on the month we start I guess, I mean the leading theory is that Beria poisoned him. But I guess if he is dead you could still maintain Stalinism by having Molotov clutch the leadership, or alternatively you could make things really interesting and have Beria take power...it'd be hard with the latter, but I mean if he moved quickly with the NKVD against individuals such as Khrushchev, Molotov & Zhukov then he has a shot.

There's also a theory that Tito poisoned him, lol. It seems people like this theory about Stalin being poisoned. I [personally think it was possible, but there's really little proof for it. For the sake of RP though I might still retain that he was poisoned if I decide to go the Beria route. Maybe he can stage a coup within the party.

Also, I suppose I should choose a month. I want January since it's a chance to start things fresh for a new year.

Basic information:
Official Name: Republic of Korea
Official Language: Korean
Capital: Seoul
Demonym: Korean
Population: 20,670,000

History: Korea has a rich history of various dynasties taking power of their own Kingdoms. With various dynastic rises and falls until the establishment of the Empire of Korea when Korea was unified. However, the lifespan of the Korean Empire was short as the Empire of Japan invaded and annexed the peninsula. For several decades, the Korean peninsula was occupied by the Japanese until the end of WW II when the Japanese Empire had to surrender all of its Imperial expansions. Korea was left without a leader and was governed for a few years by a 4 party council (US, USSR, UK, and France). However, despite the invasion, Korea was left with a modern infrastructure system and the beginnings of a solid industrial base. Therefore, the future seemed decent. Then came the split. The North was largely controlled by the USSR and picked Kim Ill Sung as leader of Korea while the UN picked Dr. Rhee as the proper leader of Korea. This spit would eventually lead to the Korean War.

Politics and Government: The government of the Republic of Korea is currently a strong, central government with much of the power enjoyed by its leader, Dr. Rhee.

Military:
The Korean Military consists of 4 branches:

The ROK Army
-554,267 Men under 3 corps

The ROK Marine Corps
-22,174 Marines under a single Regiment
-Total: 576,441 Ground Forces

The ROK Navy
-15,000 Men with 57 Vessels

The ROK Airforce
-11,461 Men under 1 combat wing and 1 support wing
-110 aircraft: 79 fighter-bombers, three fighter squadrons, and one fighter wing

Comments/General Information about Military: The ROK military is under the UN Command. In addition, it should be noted that the ROK military's equipment is virtually all US equipment. The beginning of the Korea War saw the ROK forces armed with surplus/hand me down US equipment, but once the UN intervention arrived, the ROK forces received a much needed rearmament of modernized equipment.

Geography:

Economy:The ROK economy is substandard with the GDP per capita being around 79$. This problem was made worse due to the Korean War as the infrastructure and industry of the ROK was damaged, but not to the extent of North Korea where US Pilots report the lack of any significant bombing targets. Still, the ROK relies heavily on agriculture, but is making steps to becoming an industrial nation.

Culture:
Infrastructure , science and development:

My population is 14,845,000
but the only information on troops I could find was
Seven Infantry Regiments - (21,000-35,000)
Three Armoured Regiments - (9,000-15,000)
Twelve Air Division Squadrons - (144-288)
Warships - 40

That doesn't seem like a lot when I compare to other countries.
Do you guys think it is correct or have I found wrong information?

I feel like I'm going way too depth into this history section. I already have about three paragraphs and I'm not even into 1917 yet O.o.

I took an axe to most of mine. Seemed little point in it really, no one's going to care about the past, only the future. As long as the key details are there, I think that's fine.

Not telling anyone how to ice their cake though.

Buddy, watch out for typos. Also, ROK Marines fall under their Naval command, though it is mostly independent.

Seems right, Canadian Forces downsized quite a bit after the Korean War. Their smaller numbers are better suited for peacekeeping and assisting NATO instead of spearheading large scaled conventional warfare.
