My Character

Name: Caroline Quinn
Age:29
Appearance:

Job title and description: Senior Testing Assistant for the Department of Experimental charms- liaison to the department of International Magical Cooperation

Wan't to create a charm for that pesky situation? Got your own spell to ice your pumpkin juice but keep ending up with goat horns?

The Department for Experimental Charms is looking for inspired and ambitious people to become Junior Testers.

Be responsible for the latest craze.... find the latest and greatest spells to wow your friends and embarrass your enemies. Fill out an application today

The wizard equivalent of a crash test dummy; Junior Testers take spells and incantations made by members of the public or pulled up from newly discovered historical relics, test them, cut them down and rebuild them into a functional and marketable product.

Sounds exciting huh? Except when you spend 6 hours in St Mungos with purple skin and no rectum whilst trying to make a spell that turns walls just a little bit more beige.

Amibition: Growing up in a career driven household with oft absent parents Caroline's sole ambition has and always has been to get married and ultimately be a mother.

Sadly, love has not been kind to her and as she ages her fear grows that love will never fall into her lap. Stuck in a job she dislikes, bugged by a constant sensation that happiness is slipping through her grasping fingers, the seeds of wildness have been sewn into Caroline's psyche.

Wand: 11 inches willow unicorn hair
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
Strengths: Like many ministry employees Caroline is unremarkable. A witch of slightly above average power, she is a skilled linguist fluent in a number of different languages including Mermish and Troll which resulted in her position as liason with the department of International Magical Cooperation. She now works exclusively with spells brought back by foreign wizards, including the gringots cursebreakers, allowing her access to the more interesting cases including strange curses, sadly with more disgusting side effects.

At school her strengths were in charms and ancient runes and she was known to be an irritatingly good gobstones player.

Personality: Caroline is a deeply caring and maternal figure, the mother hen of her department she uses her younger friends within the department as a crutch for her lonely heart. Occasionally absent minded, she seems slightly ditsy however she is surprisingly good in a crisis, the threat of danger to those under her care enough to put a steely backbone in her which none would expect.

Family: Caroline is an only child. Both mother and father have retired to a holiday home in Mallorca where they now live bickering and wishing they had never retired.

Appearance of her boggart: An older her alone and miserable

Name**George Nott
Age**31
Wand**12" Aspen Dragon Heart String
Hogwarts House**Gryfindor
Boggart**Dementor (After escorting a criminal to Azakban)

Job Title and Description**Hit Wizard on the Magical Law Enforcement Squad, within The Department for Magical Law Enforcement

Ambition**Having previously wished to become an Auror, George pushed aside his ambition as he'd failed. His hot headed temper wasn't something they needed, nod his impulsive attitude. George now holds no ambitions. However, occasionally toys with the idea of still becoming an Auror. He looks up to them quietly and despises them equally.

Strengths**George is a duellist, being paired with an Aspen wand proved that so. He is practiced at Transfiguration and pushed his flight skills often, giving way to be good at the chase when Apiration is prevented. He is also held for having a strong stomach, as well as being a tough punch and a hard drinker, when the time calls. His school talents were not so much in books but in the field. His essays were bad, often ranging from A-D, but his practical exams were often E, pushing his scores in the acceptable ranges for Ministry approval. He never chose to try out for Quidditch but enjoyed flying around the castle whenever the time allowed. He preferred racing, dodging towers and bridges, now which has come in handy when cashing someone about a major city.

Personality**George is a lad's lad. A Quidditch fan and a duelling lover. He will drink with his team and spend most of his few time with other single members of his squad. However, he's hot-headed, impulsive and reckless. If it wasn't for his dedication and talents, he most certainly would have lost his job. There is a sense of loyalty about him, a strong feeling of purpose within the Ministry. He does his job for two reasons, he loves the sport and he loves the smug feeling when justice is done. There is, however, underneath everything, a fear, an insecurity of the world around him. When allowed to voice his thoughts truthfully and without judgement, he will often express how the world now is different and much, much worse. He fears the worst, and with good reason.

Bio**George's first trip to Hogwarts had been as mesmerising as any other's, however back then the world was frightening. Things we happening that only the older students really understood. The teachers knew full well that something wasn't quite right. Students would occasionally be sent home, all told to go visit family due to 'reasons they couldn't discuss.' However, under all that terror, the students ate, laughed and learnt like any other time of year, any other dark period in Wizarding History. They all believed Hogwarts would remain standing.

George's first year was no special event, he continued his schooling with enjoyable innocence considering the outside world. He expected to be home for Christmas, joining his elder brother's as they headed home for the winter. Yet he remained. His brothers were 6th and 7th year. His eldest brother seemed elated to have been going home, the second eldest however, didn't share the same feelings. Despite every worry, he excelled at transfiguration, though always in practise. He wasn't aware of his lifetime ambition at this point so continued at a leisurely pace.

The summer of his first year was spent with his second eldest brother. His family were a distance branch of Pureblood wizard's, of course all somehow related to the Black's, the Pruett's, and the Malfoy's. It never really played on his mind until third year. His father was mostly absent that summer, with his mother occasionally showing his face.

He could remember one night soon after he had gotten home. Both his brother and himself were sat quietly by the fire, his second eldest brother was nose deep in a book he'd never understand, something he would later come to realise was wand law. Upon getting his Aspen wand, his brother had almost exploded. He had mentioned its meanings and its talents. Something which he would not realise himself until third year. However, he remembered one night, both boy's were quiet.

The house was still, only fire and page turning. The sun had long gone down, stretching into the early morning of that summer. His eldest brother apirated into the hallway, immediately falling on the floor. Both boys ran from their seats in the living room to try and figure the commotion. Soon they heard another crack. Their father appeared in the hallway, wand raised and voice booming.
"You let them see. Someone saw you. You were specifically told to keep it silent." Neither George or the second eldest, Arthur, understood exactly what had happened. The eldest was still scrambling on the floor, determined to finally find his feet again. The boy was sweaty, cold and shaking. It was only in his adult life that George found out his brother was in charge of three accounts of the Cruciatus Curse, they were weak but enough to keep him in Azkaban, where he'd stayed until the jailbreak.

George could remember one day of the summer that stood out in particular. He remembered seeing owls all over the place. Their Norwich home was situated within the inner city, giving way to George's owl sightings. The muggles were confused, which clearly meant there were wizard's involved. He didn't understand why his parents were packing bags and picking up shop for their sudden decision to move north to Leeds. They had no family in Leeds...

Summer ended quickly, and during the journey back to Hogwarts he noticed considerably high spirits.
