The world is an interesting place. People live relatively in peace, most danger is kept out of their life by the walls. Large blocks of smooth black material, creating a veil between life and death, a curtain never to be raised that holds back ferocious beasts of all sorts. They were put up generations ago, by the great king Midull. He created safe havens for people of all kinds to gather and for beast of all kinds to never find. Everything was perfect, people began living normal lives, free from most danger, and the kingdom of Altier was at peace.
Until he arrived, a man known as Drugah. He came and brought back the fury of nature. Crumbling walls and sending forth droves of vicious assailants into the cities, many lives lost and families were torn apart. Crops were pillaged and massive damage caused for a good amount of wealth to dry up. Drugah commanded power, he came and set examples of entire settlements. Just when the king, who was far too kind for his own sake, was to release the power and gold to the vile man, a group of adventurers appeared.
Thwarting the darkness they sent Drugah to hell, and with a good deal of help eventually pushed the monsters from the towns, allowing for walls to be re-built. With this, the guild of monster hunters was established, a network of people who gathered to protect cities from invaders. They were heroes and pure-hearted people.
Were.
That was the past, this is the present.
The guilds have changed, taking form into a business of sort. Only going out to purge when paid. Most hunters bear good will but can scarcely function without staying in the agency, and now a hierarchy of power controls it, making money and keeping monsters away at their selective leisure.
Of course, as stated earlier, quite a few people do not agree with this system. They want things to return to the old ways, to be heroes who help those who cannot help themselves. One of these people is Xavier V. Lifesaver. He is the head of the Kalli agency guild. A small city that is really just a dot on the map, meaning it's guild is of a smaller size. Xavier is an old man, one who keeps his hunters in line and wants to change things for the better.
He is to start a revolution, but he needs help. His hunters do not yet know of his plans, and without them his uprise is even more doomed. So, this is where you come in.
Are you a just a worker who hunts for a living, or a hero that lives to keep peace?
The choice will be yours, fight the system for change, or fight your previous allies to keep your money flowing.
As you see this is an explanation of our story premise. It shows the history leading up and tells of what is to happen very early on in our story. You will play as likely a hunter, or perhaps just someone who gets caught up in their business, and end up being a part of the power struggle for change.
In terms of powers we will of course want to stay limited and coherent, but I enjoy leaving a lot of room for creativeness. Magic is a definite source of power in this world, yet that does not mean all hunters use it. Be a skilled swordsman and nothing more if you wish, be a sniper elite with a massive rifle made of alien origin, it's all relative.
Races are another thing that is quite open. Keep within reasonable boundaries and you can be whatever you want.
Details about the world:
Technology: So I stated earlier you may have high tech sci-fi like weaponry but that doesn't mean the world is to be all advanced now. It is very much still a fantasy setting. Castle towns with grey stone roads. Horse drawn carriages and the like, I just want to mix it up a little bit. Odd pockets of technology exists here ant here, by this I don't mean one town is a space station and all others are little farmsteads. I mean that some inventions exist when they wouldn't usually. Some examples are phones, house and cellular, elevators, a good amount of odd weapons. So, giant mech-suits? Not so much. Cool as all hell laser sword? All power to you.
Government: As I said earlier there is a king, he is the center of all political power in the kingdom bu rich swanky businessmen have wormed their way in. A centralist power system hidden behind a monarchy.
Monsters: I want you to go f*cking wild. A huge range of monsters is welcomed, we will mostly do battle with the usual mid-power guys (skeletons, Minotaur, giant spiders) but small little things are perfect, and ancient evils proclaimed to destroy the world? We can take that on too (Not really, but we cant try).

Our starting town is relatively small. It functions mostly by trade, and doesn't have a terrible amount of action monster wise going on. A very notable part of it is it's monster barn. A large building made to bring in monsters and tame them. It gives a fair deal of business to the guild.
The guild building is a tall three story thing. It's entrance room has a receptionist who takes troubles and quests for guild members to take. Solo members and groups can take quests. A system of power is in the guild, meaning each hunter has a rank. Starting from E up to A then up to S and double S. A lounge exists on the top floor, only S and SS members may enter it. A good deal of the first floor is commons area and a mess hall, half the second floor is a large training section, including shooting ranges and various equipment. Spars are only allowed if watched over by an S or SS member. The head's office is one the top floor. Each group is given a room, it is to be used as a base of operation and for private gatherings. An extra wing has been added to the bottom floor to accommodate for more team rooms.
I will allow a maximum of 3 S class members, one other person may be a SS class, I'm afraid of keeping things fair, so I shall monopolize these hefty classes.
RULES----
Usual guild rules apply, meaning no sex in IC or OOC, keep arguments to PMs as well, negative character relations should not become player negative relations, don't god-mod, don't power play, be fair.
Don't swear every other word, we have many more good ones to use instead.
I will try my best to call people out for negative posts and such, but others may do it as well. Don't take things to offense, we just want things to be kept clean and of a quality standard.
Don't pet the unicorns. We've lost more than one intern that way.
HAVE SOME DAMN FUN.
Oh gawd, okay is that enough? I think it's done...Uh, yeah, enjoy!
My characters---
Appearance: An older man, easily into his 50s his hair is already a light grey. It is kept in a sort of tuft with only moderate regard to it's well being. His skin is aged, wrinkled and admittedly a tad leathery. He has slightly sunken in eyes of gold, they pierce stone and are always cool. He has a hard face, a scar spreading from his nose bridge to beside the left edge of his lips. He has a beard staying close to his chin and framing his mouth. His nose is defined and sharp. His tone is deep due to time in the sun as well as foreign genes. He has a well built body despite his age, easily filling his usual all black suit nicely. A white shirt lies under his coat jacket with a blood red tie, the guild insignia small and on it's tip. He has matching dress pants and oily black shoes. A visor of intricate metal framing and orange clear material is worn when he enters battle.
Gender: Male.
Name: Xavier V. Lifesaver.
Age:57
Background info: Xavier came to Altier as a young boy, his family leaving the dangerous and wall-less cities to the south. He arrived in Kalli when he was 13 and grew to become a out of city fisher like his father. Age 19 he was out on a trip, his father and him catching the days meal and tomorrows gold. They were up a bit farther stream then usual and ran into a Dire-bear. The large beast assaulted them defensively and Xavier made it out alive, a new scar to adorn his face. His father, did not. He escaped with the aid of a passing hunter, the prior guild leader. After losing his mother to sickness two years later he sought out the person who had saved his life. Looking for both a way to repay his debt, and to give meaning to his life. He grew slowly as a hunter, starting in the lower ranks with a team of new allies and friends. They eventually took down a mighty beast holding back trades from a large road, and were ranked to S. After this development a calamity occurred. His savior and boss, the guild head, passed away. Dying to a large beast far off in nearly uncharted territory. After some decision making, and settling of documents, Xavier was not elected, his friend and SS ranking member though, did. Accepting the change with ease Xavier continued to grow as a hunter, eventually rising to second in command. One more death, to yet the same beast, and Xavier took his current position. No more attempts have been against the beast, it has been named "Deaths favorite." Xavier has kept the guild running properly and efficiently for nearly 28 years now. His position is solid, and though he does not often leave the guild due to responsibilities, he is known to take special cases.
Powers: Kronos eye: Able to view things as if they were slowed Xavier can react with alarming speed to current developments, this is obviously an amazing ability to utilize on the front lines, and it has saved his life a few times over. It was gained when slaying a titan of a magical beast. He does not know why he has it, but he has not stopped researching, even now.
Call of hero: A spell that is cast with a short incantation, he releases a large radius of selective magic. Healing allies and ravaging enemies. It is a major drain on his energy supply and he is quite vulnerable casting it.
Basic magic: Xavier has a very deeply rooted understanding of magic, years of training have brought his mana level and casting prowess to excessive amounts.
Money: Screw the rules I have money.
Weapons: Dual Soul Stingers. A single handed pistol created to run off of the users energy. It shoot projectiles of raw magic, and thus does not need to be reloaded. They are known for high customizability and Xavier's are no exception. He has increased the damage output, meaning also increasing the energy drain. He has altered projectile speed and fire rate. This means he can fire three bullets in rapid succession, and have them hit a single target all at the same exact millisecond. He has cane blade, a detaching nook that sprouts a thin metal blade. It is designed to be ludicrously thin and yet sturdy, this allows for it to cut things with ease, so cleanly in fact they can be stuck back together without any adhesive. Of course detaching them is just a matter of now sliding them apart, but I digress.
Interesting equipment: His visor is a scanner of sorts (insert dragon ball z reference) This tells him about monsters value and if they are on his guilds hit list. He has phone in which is used to hub together a collection of guild data. It can only be accessed by inserting his magical pulse. A coin from each previous two guild heads.
Personality: i prefer to leave this blank, as I tend to write something specific, and stray from it naturally. That being said I intent for him to be caring yet strict. He will be a fatherly figure at times, and a harsh businessman at others. It all depends on the person he is interacting with.
Hunter rank : S (After becoming guild head, he stopped doing many dangerous missions, thus stunting his ranking.)
Other: He is a well respected member of the community, and is at odds with many other of the current guild heads. He runs the monster barn and owns a large fishing corporation spreading out from Kalli, it is relatively local for now, though is growing and spreading rapidly across the kingdom, it is named after his father. "Daveir's classic fish"
Appearance: A tall and lanky figure she stands higher than most women her age. She has unkempt greenish long hair down to nearly her ankles, and the outgrown bangs often cover her face. Said face is pointed and long, her chin sharp and her nose matching. She has small eyes of yellow and black, the pupils making a slit shape, comparable to a cat. She has a thin line for a mouth and defined cheekbones. Her whole figure could be described as slender, and her arms are spindly. She has long legs and a thin waist, one could say she even looks underfed. She wears a bodysuit of a thick white material, dirtied and faded with time. The sleeves are exaggerated and wrap multiple times around her body. A few chains link across her shoulders and meet near her belly button, coming together with a large lock. Her legs have a multitude of straps running down them, and are bottomed with simple black boots. A scar covers her left shoulder, though that is not usually seen.
Gender: Female.
Name: Suze.
Age: Unknown, though she looks to be around 18.
Background info: Dragons are an odd thing. They were powerful and known to be intelligent despite their beastly nature. They were known to be fearsome, and yet they are nearly gone now. The things seemed to up and leave, becoming dust and parting from the world. Though not all.
Another odd thing about dragons, many could change forms, either becoming a different beast to invade and feed, or a larger titan, to scare off worthy foes. Though some were known to look human, to meld with society and prefer the complicated lives of thinking and relative weakness.
One final important note on dragons, is they can align to any element of their choice. Usually one they were surrounded with at youth.
Suze, was once one of these creatures. She had been found long ago by Xavier and his team on a mission. A small settlement had seen her flying in her true form, and feared for their lives. They called the hunters preemptively and they were set out to eliminate the problem. Arriving at the creatures den they found a vulnerable and calm beast. She did not attack, and so neither did they.
After some time, they talked. Coming to a conclusion that Suze could be trusted, they allowed her to lave without a struggle, but a year or two later, the same thing happened. A village was attacked, by a horde of lesser creatures, and they had spotted Suze, thinking her to be a ring-leader of sorts. Xavier had managed to cut off the team that was coming to hunt her, and managed to talk her into a different life, one free from such blame and danger.
She would return with him, and be a "prisoner". Kept in magic binds she would love in the guild, being used for special case missions. Her cell was a large room, one furnished quite well, and stocked with material of deep human knowledge. She would live there during her own time, and when anyone was to see her other than the guild master or Xavier's team and trusted friends. She would false stay in a true cell. She is only known to wear her binds now of some twisted fondness, feeling though they are not natural they are who she is, just as her current body is. A small amount of people know she is not an actual slave in the current guild, though some sense of mystery still surrounds her, especially to new members and outsiders.
Powers: Necrotic breath: A gust of pure negative energy is released from Suze's mouth, debilitating enemies and rotting the touched world. It is magical and thus block-able, it cannot be breathed in and is an energy more than a gas. It can easily kill a person with weak magical fortitude. It works as a weak acid to burn metals. Cannot be used for extended periods of time.
Shift: Partially or wholly shift to a true draconic form.
Gaze: An area of effect magic circle, it stuns those inside it, ally or foe. It is simple and thus easy to undo with some magical know how. It more relies on raw energy then intricate magic knowledge.
Dragon howl: A beam of pure magic. It is a hot line of destructive magic and what has made dragons so terrible to face for many years. It is known to decimate nearly all it touches, and is simply energy stream lined to any given point. It drains the user massively, yet can be fired consecutively, or in short bursts.
Hollowing air: A cold aura surrounds Suze, stifling magical energy and slowing any living thing in it. It carries a sense of dread and is known to be used in tandem with gaze.
Weapons: Uses non. She has no need.
Interesting equipment: None, her hands are not usually free enough to carry any.
Personality: Again, I like to leave this open so I do not stray from my intended goal, that being said, I intend Suze to be cold and straightforward. Ignoring most social nuance and saying what she wants when she wants, however rare that is. A woman of few words, speaking more with action.
Hunter rank: SS
Other: Yes I know, this is kinda bare-bones. She is to be mysterious.
Used as a sort of last resort. She is sent alone to deal with things others could not. She has yet to fail and is debated to be the guilds ace. Debated often actually...
