Sia would have like to say that she'd had a good night but in truth, she hadn't. The phone call from her parents had been the last thing she'd wanted to hear and she'd refused their requests to 'come home and talk about it'. She didn't want to talk about it. There was no way in a million years she was going to marry Jack. Ugh. So, instead of going home like a responsible adult, she headed out to a bar to drink away her troubles.

It should have been a good night. She'd gotten nicely tipsy, met some really fun people and even danced on the bar top a little but as soon as she left, she was back to her thoughts and she really didn't want to have to deal with what her parents were asking of her. She knew the importance that she marry well. She was an only child and the sole person who could continue their strong position in vampiric society. Or, perhaps even make it stronger. She knew what her parents expected but it didn't make it any easier on her. She had never really thought about marriage before now. Of course she'd dated but she traveled so much that it was easier to avoid getting too attached to any one person. Now she didn't even have a choice in the matter. They were happy to just ship her off to Jack Danvers, of all people. Didn't it matter what she wanted?

"Apparently not," Elysia grumbled as she stepped out of the elevator and made her way towards her apartment door. "Well, screw them. I just wont go home," she decided aloud, rooting through her bag for her keys and attempting multiple times to unlock the door. The alcohol she'd drunk wasn't exactly aiding her coordination. Finally, however, the door just seemed to slide open and she stepped inside, flipping on the light.

Sia caught the scent of another vampire a fraction of a second before her eyes came to stop on a figure in the living room ahead of her. She jumped and dropped her keys onto the floor. Somewhere through her slightly fuzzy mind, she realized she was a big bad vampire, too, and that she shouldn't be so terribly frightened of an intruder. Then her gaze came to rest on the face of the person who had broken into her apartment and she stared at him in surprise.

"Jett?"

“And that’s our show! Special thanks to Jett for coming on, sharing the story of his break up with Veronica and singing us the hit song off of his new album Sadder But Wiser Girl available June 23rd in stores everywhere!” A blonde woman said and a table of six women and a charming looking young man in the middle waved good bye to the camera as the light clicked off. She then turned to the man. “Did it really end that simply Jett, off camera, really?”

“Yeah, the spark just disappeared, there’s nothing left there anymore so calling it quits just seemed to be the best option but I’m far from afraid of being single.” Jett said flashing the blonde a cheeky grin, showing his white gorgeous white teeth. It was ironic with how much the man actually drank that his teeth remained so white, there were many theories and Jett only reminds everyone that if they floss, gargle and brush they too can have amazing teeth. He shot the blonde a wink behind his chocolate colored eyes before rising from the seat. “Ladies, may you all have a wonderful night, I will see you around.” With that he got up and headed out of the studio.

Arriving to his car was a bit difficult, a lot of people waited outside to get photos of him and autographs which he was happy to oblige with. Jett’s pull on the human population was always at their strongest when they heard him sing. He could drink anyone’s blood if he wanted to; hypnotizing a woman into thinking she just had a wonderful night alone with Jett Vaskial but that wasn’t what he was looking for. As he climbed into his car after giving the group and wink and driving off.

“Siri.” Jett called out as he undid his tie and his phone connected to the speaker in the car. “Do I have any voicemails?”

“One; from your mom.” His mom’s voice rang over the speaker system, she wasn’t happy that Jett dumped Veronica but she knew better than to question her son’s decision but she did know when it came to Elysia, he was the only one who could handle her. A small sigh left him as he drove his car out onto the highway of LA and took a different direction going away from the house he had purchased in Beverly Hills to where he knew she lived.

The voice mail wasn’t much information other than Elysia refused to go home. It didn’t take long for him to get into the house, climbing up the side of the building to the sixth floor was fun but surprisingly enough getting in was easy. Shaking his head, he sat himself down on the couch in the living room and leaned back, crossing one leg over the other and resting his elbow on the armrest of the couch staring at the door.

When she opened it, the smell of her vampire scent filled the house and the left over scent of alcohol was also there. “Hi Sia, care to tell me what’s going on?” He asked in a playfully sarcastic manner as his chocolate eyes twinkled up at her. They were some of the few Vampires that made their home in the human world by capping their fangs and, well it worked. “Someone doesn’t want to go home huh?”

Once Sia had gotten over the initial surprise of seeing Jett lounging in her sitting room, she grinned at him and stepped further into the room, slipping her heels off along the way. Her apartment was mostly open plan, with just the bathroom and bedroom off in separate rooms. The wall next to the living room side of the house was floor to ceiling windows with a sliding door that lead off to a small balcony.

"Hey! It's so good to see you," she told him, ignoring his question about what was going on. She'd originally thought he might be hear to talk about Veronica, though he wasn't really one to talk about his feelings, but his words confirmed the real reason. She sighed deeply and headed into the kitchen area. "My parents called yours, then? Sorry Jett but I'm really not going back this time," she told him firmly, taking two beers out of the fridge and crossing the room to flop down next to him on the couch. She handed him one and opened her one, drinking deeply from the bottle for a moment before sighing again. Trust them to get Jett on her case. He always seemed to have a way of convincing her to go back home. Damn him and his big brown eyes.

"God, you don't even know the half of it," she grumbled, moving forward to set her beer bottle down on the coffee table. She could already see Jack's smug face and his stupid sisters giggling and whispering behind her back. UGH. The whole lot of them drove her crazy. There was no way she was going to go through with it. "You wouldn't be here to bring me home if you knew why they wanted me back so badly," she insisted, pouting childishly. It was possible that his parents were furious at him for ending things with Veronica. That would have been a marriage that would really have secured their dominance over the rest of the vampiric society. Maybe he'd run away with her if she told him what was going on. Or maybe he'd tell her to stop being stupid and go home.

"So how are you holding up?" Sia asked, hoping to change the topic. She moved so that she was facing him on the couch and pulled her legs up underneath her. "My parents told me about Veronica when they called. You seem like you're taking it okay." Better than she was taking her own problems, anyway. Or maybe he'd already had a few drunken nights out and had gotten his shit together. Too bad. She would have liked to party with him.

As Sia walked in, he couldn’t help but grin at her, flashing his straight pearly white teeth. She was always a fun person to be around, especially when she got bubbly and outgoing. A spitball in her own way and fun to chit chat with. It was hard to believe she hadn’t found a mate, human or not. But then again, being the type of guy that he was, he was pretty sure no one would meet what he would consider a standard to being able to be with her. He had high standards of who she should be with, she better as well. Little did he know, she was going to be forced to go below both his and her standards for a mate.

“I think you said that last time.” He called out playfully to her as he stretched a long muscular arm across the top of the couch. He had stripped off his dress jacket upon arrival so he was comfortable in a button up white shirt and black slacks since he just came from an interview. His head fell back against the couch as he leaned over watching her work in the kitchen with his innocent chocolate eyes. Oh Jett played the innocent game whenever he could though anyone that knew him as well as Sia did, knew he was far from innocent. “That bad huh?”

Taking the beer from her with his lounging hand from the armrest, he cracked it open with a single finger and took a swig of his own. Ah beer, how wonderful you are. Humans are geniuses for inventing such a thing! There wasn’t a vampire alive who didn’t drink beer or wine at one point or another and Jett was someone who took part in it whole heartedly. His parents didn’t approve of this, the press loved it and Jett, well Jett didn’t give a shit about what anyone else thought. Simple as that. Swallowing the beer he gave her a pushed up facing thought. “But I don’t know the story and I know I’m adorable so you’re bound to let me take you home in one form or another.” A cheeky arrogant grin moved across his face as he drank his beer again.

When she mentioned Veronica, he swallowed hard knowing all too well that the question was coming. “Well...” He began obviously wanting to bounce around the topic and not to talk about it. His gaze flicked up towards Sia only to catch that look of ‘you’re going to tell me’ which made him sigh in defeat. “I ended it with her. And since you’re… well you.” He gave her a small smile. “I’ll tell you why. She got extremely clingy.” With that he shook the can in his hand, disappointed that there was a small amount left in his. “I mean there’s my definition of clingy where if you want to spend every day with me and I don’t want to with you, I define that as clingy but she wouldn’t want me to talk to female reporters. I couldn’t sit down in a stylist chair before going on stage if they were females working on me. I couldn’t go to strip clubs…” He caught her eye, a twinkle of playfulness in his chocolate colors. “Kidding. But I couldn’t order a coffee from a girl, it literally came down to where I couldn’t be around any females or I’d be cheating on her, checking out other women. Fuck I couldn’t even pose for a photo with a fan without her screaming at me about it showing up online.” Shrugging slightly he took a swig of his final drink of his beer before putting the can down on the coffee table. “I don’t know why she wouldn’t believe me when I said that I was serious about her I meant loyal too but she just didn’t believe me due to my past history.”

Shrugging his large shoulders he let out a sigh, “So yeah, dumped her. It was easier than dealing with her egotistical controlling jealous manner. And that’s the story.”

Sia rolled her eyes playfully as Jett teased her about giving into him the last time she told him she wouldn't be going home. How did he always manage to persuade her to do what he asked? It wasn't like she believed his sweet and innocent expressions. She knew him well enough to know that he was anything but. He'd always been her closest friend, though. No matter how much time passed without them seeing one another, or how many new people she met, Jett always remained her best friend. He just knew her completely and she, him. When he'd met Veronica, she'd kept her distance. After all, she had to travel with work, anyway. Still, she was glad she did. If she was really so jealous, she would have killed Sia for her relationship with Jett.

"Wow, if I'd known she was that crazy I would have come to save you from her," she teased, though her voice was gentle in case he was still hurting a little. She reached forward and ruffled his hair gently before scooting over so that she could hug him. She gave him a gentle squeeze and kissed his cheek before pulling back to look at him. "You still didn't tell me how you're feeling. I didn't miss that, you know," she winked at him and reached forward for her beer again, finishing it in a few more gulps. "It's okay to be honest with me, you know. I'll still think you're a tough guy even if you're upset and missing her," she promised with a soft smile as she watched him. She hated to think he might be hurting over all of this and had to put up a front. He could be himself with her and she wanted him to know that. She wouldn't judge him and she certainly wouldn't tell anyone something he'd told her in private.

Elysia stood and took their empty beers to throw them in the trash. "Want another?" she called from the kitchen. After all, she didn't plan on leaving anytime soon so they could just get drunk, or more drunk in her case, and catch up all night. It sounded far more fun than going home. Her parents could afford to wait a few more days. Even if she did go back, she wasn't marrying Jack. There was no way. She'd rather marry anyone else.

“I don’t think anyone could have saved me from her. She was too determined to marry me that it just kinda, well…” He turned his chocolate gaze to his friend giving her a small shrug. “It made me sick. Every day it was ‘when are you going to propose to me?’, ‘When are we going to get married?’, ‘Who are we inviting?’,” His mocking of the valley girl voice that Veronica was known for was wonderful as he went on about the things she would hound him for answers about. “It’s not that I miss her, I really don’t. I just don’t want to have to deal with my mom when she finds out. Especially if Veronica goes bat-shit crazy.” He said in an honest shrug. “I think you women assume we’re deeper than we are. We’re like the shallow end of the pool and you women are the 12 feet deep end. Two different sides of the pool.”

A laugh left him as she took the beer from him. “When don’t I want one? I just finished a painful interview today with five old ladies trying to dig for information I had already given them. Plus one attempted to play footsy with me so hard that I’m pretty sure she got a leg cramp because I watched her face change instantly at one point and she buried herself behind her coffee cup.” As soon as she returned; he grabbed her by her wrist and gave her a good yank, pulling her onto his lap.

Grinning from ear to ear he brushed some of their away from her face as he tilted his head at her. “My dear Sia, you’ve grown up so much. Such a beautiful… charming young lady with a good head on her shoulders… a wonderful… fun-loving personality… and the whole world in front of her…” His dark brown eyes twinkled with an act of playfulness, his voice dropping into that deep tone when he’d sing a lovey portion of one of his songs. “I can’t believe how much you’ve grown up and changed and became such an amazing person. So beautiful… so sweet… just so… amazing…” As he talked he leaned towards her, his hand still no the small of her back and the other gently let go of her wrist, his face inched closer and closer to hers; the intoxicating mix of the vampire-hormones filling the small space between them. When he said the word amazing, he was nose to nose with her, then… it happened…

Jett quickly got his feet, his free arm had scooped underneath her and in a twist, he had her hanging over his left shoulder, her mid-drift resting on his shoulder as her lower hand hung limp against his chest. His large arm was wrapped around her thigh, careful to keep her dress in place and to not move. He knew that if she didn’t hit him for doing this, she’d beat the hell out of him if she thought he was trying to catch a glimpse under her dress. “But sometimes as a strong independent woman, you need to talk to your parents. So come now, let’s get you back to their house so you can tell them ‘Leave me alone I’m a strong independent woman!’ and that should satisfy their need. Now…” He plucked her purse from the table she had put it now and gave it a shake, hearing keys was enough for him and he hung it over his free shoulder. “It’s not my color but it will do.” With that he locked the door behind them and proceeded to carry her down the stairs to where he had parked the car.

Once at the car he beeped it open and opened the door before slinging her forward into his arms in a bridal style and placing her in the passenger’s seat. “You may be in a good shape but remember I’m older; I can catch you if you run.” With that and a cheesy Jett-style grin he shut her door and walked around the car, opening and climbing inside, he shut the door behind him, buckled up and started the car. With that he was off towards her parents house.

Elysia couldn't help but laugh at Jett's impression of Veronica. Although she'd only met her once or twice, she'd seen enough interviews of the two of them to know that he had it spot on. "Wow, you've got her down," she chuckled, resting her chin on her hand, her elbow on the couch, as she watched him impersonate her. She was glad that he wasn't feeling upset about ending things. She hated to see him down and she was glad that that wasn't the case. Besides, it meant he was content enough that she could complain about her own problems without feeling guilty.

"Don't worry. I'll protect you against your Mom. She's always loved me," she teased, lifting a hand to ruffle his hair with a grin. She tilted her head a little when he wondered aloud how Veronica was going to act, now. "Hmm, I don't envy the next poor girl you take as your victim. From the sounds of it, she's really going to have it out for her."

When she returned with the beers, Sia yelped as Jett suddenly pulled her down onto his lap. She shifted about, dropping the beers onto the couch before they ended up on the floor and sighed as Jett's grip on her didn't loosen. "What are you doing, you idiot?" she asked, narrowing her eyes at him and then rolling them as he started with the compliments. He was such a charmer and she knew better than to fall for his tricks but that didn't make it any easier when he was whispering sweet things and leaning close.

"Jett, stop," she giggled as he moved in closer to her. All of the pheromones he was emitting were clouding her already fuzzy head. It wasn't fair that he could lower his voice that way. He was so close to her now, his nose brushing hers. She was torn between hitting him over the head with a beer and letting him kiss her. The decision was pulled from her grasp, however, as he pulled her over his shoulder.

"Jett!" she yelled, struggling in his grip. "Ugh, put me down! You're going to regret this," she swore as he picked up her bag and made his way out of her apartment and downstairs. She slapped his back a few times, more to get her point across than to hurt him, really. He was so infuriating! "You're supposed to be on my side!" she complained, groaning as the world spun a little from the combination of the alcohol she'd drunk all evening, and the fact that she was currently dangled from his shoulder.

"I'm going to vomit all over you," she warned but he took that moment to pull her around to him and set her down in the passenger seat of his car. She swore under her breath with her arms crossed while he told her he could catch her if she tried to run, and scowled out of the windscreen. When he joined her in the driver's side, she hit the back of his head. Not hard enough to hurt him, but enough to get her message across.

"If you ever do that again, I'll tell your Mom all your dirty little secrets," she threatened as she buckled up. "You're wrong about my parents. That wont satisfy them. They're trying to ruin my life and now you're an accomplice. You're bringing me to my doom," she insisted dramatically, pouting like a child.

“‘You’re going to regret this, you’re going to regret that’” He said in a playful mocking tone when he carried her down the stairs. “Do you know how often I hear that from you that it’s not so much of a threat anymore?” Growing up together there was really only one person who had the ability to slap reality in Jett’s face and that was Sia, mainly because she’d literally hit him and he’s snap out of whatever he was dealing with. He knew he had a true friend in her considering she’d never feed him any sort of bullshit that other people always tried to do, and that was something he really appreciated about her. But that didn’t stop him from treating her like a little sister. Especially in cases like this.

The drive to the house was peaceful aside from her continuous complaining about being dragged home. “Come on Sia, it’s a simple visit just tell them off or whatever and be on your way. They can’t control your life forever… Okay well they kinda can.” He said lifting his slightly on the wheel to show emphasis on the ‘kinda’. “But you’re a smart girl, you’ll be able to figure some way out of it. You always were the one to get me out of a lot of trouble when we were younger, I’m sure you can do that for yourself.” A cheeky yet honest grin moved across his full lips as he rounded the corner to her parent’s driveway.

Every rich Vampire family had a large house and lots of land, Jett’s family was no exception to this rule and neither was Sia’s, so it wasn’t surprising that the drive way was an half a mile long. The house was a three story large barn style house with elegant trim and a sense of upper-class-ness. Which was ironic that they’d have such a big house when they only had one child; at least his parents had the excuse of having two kids. Grrrr his brother. That was not a thought he wanted at the moment.

Parking out in front of the front door he turned off the car and climbed out. Shutting the door, his large frame moved around the front of the car and pulled open the passenger’s door to his rather dramatic-pouting friend. “Please don’t make me carry you to the door. I promise you can vomit on your parents’ carpet if that makes you feel any better.” Getting her to the house was an adventure in among itself, half of her not wanting to go and the other half already drunk; it made it difficult to guide her but by the time they made it to the porch her parents and their staff were at the door.

“Awe Jett thank you!” Her mother said in an uncomfortably bright fashion. “How’s Veronica?” If there’s one thing the Vampire community loved to talk about it was who was going to be with whom. And with how important Jett was in the standings in society, he was always a hot topic.

“Don’t know, we’re not together anymore. Now if you don’t mind I’m going home before someone explodes, good bye!” With that he took off running back to his car. Oh he wasn’t stupid; there were two people who could explode now, Sia for him taking her home and her mother obviously just now finding out that Veronica and him were no longer together; which meant he’d have to face his own mother soon because their parents were close. All that was going through the mind of the Vampire as he reached his car and pulled open the door was DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE BEFORE ONE OF THESE WOMEN KILL YOU!!! and judging by how hard he floored it to get away, he knew just how much trouble he could have been in had he not left right then and there.

"I won't be able to get myself out of this one," Sia complained, massaging her forehead with her fingertips. This was not the way she had imagined her life going. She'd always seen herself growing up and falling in love with some handsome and brilliant vampire that just so happened to be of high enough standing that her parents didn't object. Or even if they did, she wouldn't care as long as she was happy. Now, they'd decided to take matters into their own hands and she did not like the answer they had come up with. She would not marry Jack. She couldn't! He was the kind of person she went out of her way to avoid every day. She could not share a life with him. She wouldn't.

Before Sia could make a final attempt to persuade Jett to bring her back by simply telling him the reason she was here, he had stopped the car and was already half dragging her towards the house. Her mother, of course, acted like he had rescued her near death and she rolled her eyes at her enthusiasm. They could have come for her themselves, if they'd been bothered. Sia cringed when her mother brought up Veronica and decided she'd let Jett run off this time. After all, there would probably be a million questions that he didn't want to answer. Even so, she scowled after him as he ran for his car.

Once they were inside, the questions were thrown at Elysia and she groaned and waved them off. "I don't know anything about what happened with Jett and Veronica. I'm sure it'll be in the paper tomorrow. Why don't you wait until then?" she suggested, inching around her mother. Now that she was here, all she wanted to do was sleep but it didn't happen for her. Both of her parents scolded her for not coming home, being drunk - like she wasn't almost a hundred years old - and for fighting them on the whole Jack thing. She argued with them again for some time before her mother grew exasperated and snapped at her.

"You will marry Jack. There's no family with a higher standing than his, other than the Vaskial's and I hardly think you want to marry Jett, now, do you?"

There was an idea.

Sia had laughed at first but then she started to weigh her options. Given the choice between the two, she'd take Jett in a heartbeat, It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to marry her best friend. At least she knew how well they would get on. Even still...she'd never really viewed him in a romantic light before. Of course they always played around, teasing one another, but actually thinking about marrying him was a different story.

"Fine. I'll marry Jett," she decided to her parents shock. They both stared at her for a moment as though waiting for her to laugh and tell them she was joking. Okay, so she was still a little tipsy but it was better than marrying Jack, right? Better for her, better for them. Everyone wins. Except maybe, Jett. Of course, it didn't have to be a romantic exchange. They could marry and still live the same lives they were living currently. He could go back to dating supermodels and she...well, it had been a while since she'd dated anyone, really.

"Jett? Really? Don't you think that would be uncomfortable for the two of you?" Her father asked, his forehead creased in a frown though she could already see his mind working.

"Trust me," Sia insisted. "It'll be less uncomfortable than having to marry one of the Danvers."

It was probably a terrible idea, made while she was still a little drunk, but her parents promised that if she could get Jett to agree to marry her, they'd back off. So, that was how she found herself standing at his door the following day with a couple of suitcases trailing behind her. She rang the doorbell and waited. She'd promised him he would regret bringing her home. Now he'd know she meant it.

As he sped off away from her parents’ house, he headed towards his only to have his phone ring. Sighing he answered it knowing all too well what was coming. “I got Elysia home.” That was how he was currently answered his mother. “Veronica… yeah we’re over.” Holding the phone away from his ear he cringed at the screaming and dramatically muffled words on the other end of the phone; when the verbal dust settled he put the phone back to his ear and continued. “Look there was no spark anymore. Nothing, and she kept going on and on about marriage and that’s not going to happen… Why? What do you mean why?... Yeah I know where she stands in society… Yeah I know she comes from a lot of money… Yes I’m aware it would mean the clans were intermixing… Yes I’m also aware that I’m the one you guys are leaving everything too but I fail to see how whether I get married or not effects you… Yes status in society blah blah blah.” Now he was just mocking his mom and had to hold the phone away from his ear while she exploded at him once again.

“I’m still young mom.” He said when she finally stopped yelling, “Okay I’m not that young but I have no reason to settle. No one’s interesting enough. No one keeps my attention and makes me beg for more of theirs. I’ve never had to work for a woman, and it’s boring. If I’m going to settle down with someone I’d like to be the chaser instead of the chasey; I want someone to make me work for them and that wasn’t the case with Veronica, at all. Between my social status and my vampire status I can get anyone I want and that’s just not good enough for me.” Again he had to pull the phone away from his ear, the words ‘arrogant’ and ‘cocky’ echoed through his car and when he put his phone back to his ear he couldn’t help but smirk. “I get it from my mom. I love you and will talk to you later when you’ve cooled down and realized that I dumped Veronica for myself not for anyone else.” With that he hung up on his mother, put his phone on silent and tossed it into the back seat.

The night rolled on and the young man sat in his living room eating junk food and playing video games all night; celebrating the fact that he wasn’t getting dragged to some stupid party or fancy dress parties just to try to make her happy. Hours into the morning Jett feel sleep in the pair of black sweatpants and no shirt. His curtains pulled for the obvious reason of preferring to be in the dark because of his race so it wasn’t until his doorbell rang that Jett was pulled rudely from his slumber and scared half to death (ironic no?) to the point of falling off of his couch and smacking the back of his head against the floor. Grumbling and groaning, the man pulled himself to his feet and stumbled up the steps to his front door and pulled it open, not really taking into consideration that he probably should check the peep hole to make sure it wasn’t someone from the crazy vampire haunting club pointing a gun at him but instead he opened the door fully, exposing his barely dressed form to the front yard and squinted through the light to see Elysia standing on his front porch.

“Okay, I was not the drunk one last night; you were…. So….” Yawn. “I don’t recalling have a conversation about you staying for…” He leaned passed her seeing that she had more than one suitcase with her. “however long you packed for…” Knowing better than to argue with her, he yawned largely before turning back around and walking sleepily back inside only to see that his video game had kicked him out of the lobby of his Call of Duty game. Disappointed he clicked the button to turn it back on, a little mad at himself that he fell asleep. “Close the door you’re letting the light in.” He shouted playfully to her as he yawned a big yawn before putting down the controller on the couch and stumbling into his kitchen. Gathering up the necessary supplies, he slowly began to put together a pot of coffee, stumbling around and struggling to stand… Jett, is not a morning person. “What’s with the…” Yawn. “bags?”

Sia smiled sweetly up at a very sleepy Jett as he opened the front door, squinting at her in the morning light. His eyes were barely open and it looked as though she had woken him with her visit but, oh well. He could sleep some other time. "Good morning handsome. Isn't it a beautiful day?" she gushed, despite the fact that she was eager to be inside and away from the sun. Jett didn't refuse her entry, though he didn't seem entirely by her arrival, and she pulled her cases into his hallway before shutting the door with a chuckle as he called out to her from the living room. She left her bags were they were and followed him through to the kitchen.

"Oh, you mean the bags that you so chivalrously helped me with?" she asked sarcastically with a light roll of her eyes. She crossed to him with an impatient sigh and turned him towards the table. "Go sit down before you hurt yourself," she ordered. "I'll make the coffee." Although it was amusing to watch him struggle to wake up, she needed to stay on his good side. Especially when she had such a big favor to ask him...eventually. Elysia had gone through her options on how she should go about asking Jett to marry her. It was a little bit of an awkward topic considering they had been friends for so long. She figured that the easiest thing to do was to just ask him to marry her and explain that she didn't expect any sort of romantic commitment from him but...where was the fun in that? He'd screwed things up for her by making her go home and now she wanted to torture him a little. Sia was more than familiar with the art of subtle seduction. She was a girl, after all, and it would be nice if Jett saw her as one. Besides, if he fell in love, or lust, with her it would be easier to sway him on the whole marriage thing. And if he didn't, well, at least she'd have gotten some amusement out of it.

Elysia began making the coffee which didn't take an awful lot of effort on her part considering Jett had some high end machine that did most of the work for her. "Well, after you left me at my parents and I told them I'm not doing what they asked me to do." Best not to mention them wanting her to marry Jack just yet, lest he catch on to why she was really here. "They got all high and mighty and told me if I wasn't going to do what was best for the family, then I needed to pay them back for all the years they'd 'let me live off of them'. Do you know how many years I lived at home? Half a human lifetime. So, I had to sell my place - which I had just paid off, by the way - and give them the money to cover my apparent 'expenses'. Now I'm homeless. So, who better to come live with then my best friend in the whole world?" Okay, so her parents hadn't technically done any of that but she had no doubt that they wouldn't have had a problem doing it. Besides, they were still ruining her life one way or another. Sia lifted the mugs of coffee and brought one over to him, kissing his cheek. "Who also happened to get me into this mess and has too many rooms for one person so he can't really complain," she pointed out, ruffling his already messy hair and taking a seat next to him. She sipped delicately from her mug for a couple of seconds before setting it down with a content sigh.

"Think of all the fun we'll have!" Elysia enthused, crossing her legs. "We can stay up all night and play video games and I'll cook for you and we can have pool parties. It'll be fun," she insisted with a grin, cupping her warm mug between her hands. "I've got a big photo shoot coming up this weekend so I can pay rent. Besides, this place is huge. You wont even notice I'm here." He would definitely notice she was here, but he didn't need to know that for now. She wondered if he would kick her out considering he'd only just ended things with Veronica and now she'd showed up on his doorstep ready to move in with him.

"It's not going to be forever." Maybe. "Just until I find a new place. What do you say?" Sia asked, widening her eyes innocently and jutting out her bottom lip the tiniest bit.

She shows up at his door with bags and waking him up from a lazy sleepy day… and she expects chivalry. Ha! Funny girl, especially from someone as sleepy as Jett; had she not turned him towards the table, he would have continued to bounce around his kitchen like a slow moving pinball in a machine. Upon her directional turning he stumbled over to his table and sat down in a slump, his arms hanging by his side and his head falling forward, forehead hitting the table with a small thud which was followed by an instant groan of dislike. Obviously Jett was not a morning person; especially after only a few hours of daytime sleep.

When she started to talk, Jett rolled his sleepy head to the side, leaving a single ear facing upward to hear her while his eyes remained closed. This was a killer and she expected him to be able to pay attention to what she was saying? Something about homeless, and because of her parents; half of him didn’t believe her, knowing her family well he knew that she was their crown jewel. Then again, the other half believed her; Vampire families weren’t all too forgiving on the word ‘no’ so for her to tell her parents that she wasn’t going to do something could easily seal her off from many things she could get as bonuses from her family. There was a small form of a thank you mixed in with a grunt as she place down the coffee cup and kissed him on the cheek. Though there was no movement from the near lifeless body of Jett until she ruffled his hair. That seemed to be enough queue for his body that he needed to sit up.

After taking a long drink of the coffee he placed the cup down on the table top before turning his half opened gaze to her. His large chest rose and fell with his heavy breathing as he attempted to process all she had said; basically the hamster had finally woken up and began to run on the wheel as he registered everything she was saying. Upon her saying that they would have fun together his sleepy head gave a shaky nod in agreement. They always got along and normally had a good time when they hung out with each other, but the idea of living with her was something he really had to process, even if he was still half asleep. Being half asleep for Jett was a lot like people being tipsy; he tended not to think before he spoke and lacked a filter for things that should not have been said. He’s been known to curse out his own mother when she called and woke him up to early. That was the reason why his mom now texted him and asked for him to call her when he was ready.

“So… let me get this straight…” His voice was a little less sleepy since his coffee was almost completely gone. Leaning forward he placed his elbows on the table his muscular arms flexing slightly as he did so. “Your parents kicked you out and made you be homeless, now you want to stay with me. You’ll pay rent, make me food and not get mad if I throw parties?” His face scrunched together in thought, making sure he’s covered all of his bases. Now that he was more awake he had a lot more of a clear mind… well as clear as it could be after only a single cup of coffee. “Well, there’s one problem. If Veronica finds out, she’s going to flip a lid and come after you. And she… well she hits hard. She’s put quite a few holes in some of the walls around the house when I told her ‘no’ about things… that woman can’t take a no so I doubt she’d be happy to find out my new roommate is a woman.”

Getting up from his seat he walked back to the island and poured himself another cup of coffee before venturing back to his seat and sitting down. “If you can handle her when she comes over to throw a fit then sure; you can stay but I don’t want to deal with the drama so I expect you to take care of it. Are we clear?” Obviously this was not negotiable because Jett was refusing to deal with the annoying situation that would arise when Veronica found out; and there was no way she wouldn’t… she’s just, one of those people. Simple as that.

Elysia

Elysia watched Jett as he blinked sleepily at her and thought about all she had said. She was sure he wouldn't send her away for today, but she wasn't so sure he would let her stay for long. Despite his insisting that he was fine about everything with Veronica, she imagined he was still adjusting to life without her. It was a little insensitive for her to ask what she was asking but it couldn't be helped. It was only going to get worse, too because living with him wasn't the biggest favor she had to ask of him.

"Yup," Sia smiled innocently as he clarified what she was asking of him. "That's it." She watched him as he weighed his options and then sighed a little at the mentioned of Veronica. Honestly, she hadn't really thought about how the other woman was going to react when she found out. She had told him the night before that she pitied the next girl he grew romantic with, having to face the wrath of his crazy ex. Now it seemed that person was going to be her.

"It'll be our little secret," Elysia waved it off, though she imagined she would find out eventually. She was pleased that he had agreed on the condition that she dealt with the drama. That much she could do. Veronica didn't scare her...much. "Yes, boss! I promise, I'll take care of everything. I can take her, no problem...Even if she is, like...double my height." She was probably in good shape too, considering she was a model. Sia hadn't really kept up with training since she'd come back to America. Maybe it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world to find a sparring partner. Maybe Jett would be up for it. She'd ask him later.

Sia hopped up from her seat and moved around the table to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and snuggling into his neck. "Thanks, Jett. Have I told you that you're my favorite person in the world, lately?" she cooed, nuzzling into him for a moment before releasing him. It was probably better that she not be too aggravating lest he change his mind. She picked up her mug instead and carried it over to the dishwasher.

"Sorry I interrupted your beauty sleep. I can make us something for breakfast if you want to rest some more?" Elysia suggested, glancing over her shoulder at him as she crossed to the fridge. She opened it up and peered inside, rooting around in it for a moment. "Do you have any blood? I could make us some pancakes," she suggested. Most of the time she drank her blood straight but it was always fun to mix it into food and try out different ways of consuming it. As long as it wasn't cooked too long, it was still good.

Jett’s grogginess was starting to wear off thanks to the second cup of coffee. He looked less like a pinball in a kitchen designed machine and more like a normal person. When she said that was it, he gave her a look that said ‘I don’t believe you’ but he was too tired to actually say it so he just shot her the gaze and took a drink of his coffee to help bring himself to life.

A small chuckle left him behind his coffee when she called him boss before finishing up his second cup of coffee. It was funny to think that they would have a secret from the world. The likeliness of that happening was little to none considering the press was always at the gate of his house asking him questions and wanting to know information of his personal life; especially with the new album coming out. The press loved to follow him about and ask him multiple questions and with how open and hate-filled (mostly from Veronica) his recent break up was, he had enough attention for one lifetime. Then again to hide the best from the vampire hunters it was easiest to hide in plain sight, no matter how much it pissed off his parents that he would be so open. But the caps on his teeth really helped hide who he was no one’s onto him yet and that’s how he’d prefer to keep it.

Her sudden wrapping around his neck through him off and that was easily read on his sleepy face. A small laugh left him as he placed his empty mug down on the table top and forced back another laugh as she nuzzled his neck. It both tickled and felt weird. She had never done that to him before, he was used to getting hugged but that was new. “No I haven’t heard that lately, you might need to say it more often since I’m letting you live here and all.” He said playfully in a sarcastic manner as he settled back down in the chair when she let him go. His head turned looking at her as she walked away. This seemed a little bit of a coincidence that he would break up with Veronica and she was suddenly want to move in with him. “Did my parents put you up to this?”

His large hand rose up and scratched his sleepy head as he watched her closer with his chocolate eyes and tilted his head very slightly to one side. “I have fresh blood in pantry above the sink. I get it from a guy who works at the hospital. He takes good care of me.” Jett said with a nod as he finished up his coffee and slowly stood up and headed to the kitchen and put the coffee cup into the dishwasher and pushed it shut with his foot before leaning up against the counter pushing his hand through his hair again. “There are five bedrooms you can choose from but you can’t have mine. Just so we’re clear.” His ‘just so we’re clear’ was said in a playful and joking way as if she was going to try to claim his bedroom for her own. She was a goofball but she wouldn’t try something foolish like that.

Elysia

"No, they didn't put me up to anything. I already told you why I'm here," Elysia reminded Jett as she took out the eggs and milk from the fridge. She closed it and glanced over her shoulder at him. "What? Do you think I'm spying on you for them? You know I'd much prefer to spy on them, for you. You know, since you're my favorite person in the world, and everything," she repeated with a grin, setting the items down on the counter while she turned to the pantry to retrieve the blood and the flour. She sighed longingly as she turned the blood bag over in her hands, watching the crimson liquid move about inside of it.

"I miss fresh, hot blood, straight from the source. It's never as good when it's been left to cool and become stagnant," she murmured as she tipped the contents of the blood bag into a measuring jug. She added the eggs, a little drop of milk, and the flour and then whisked all of it together while the oil in the pan heated up. She listened quietly while Jett told her about the choice of bedrooms and pouted at him briefly.

"But I wanted your room," she complained before flashing him a playful grin. "Thanks again for letting me stay. Do you have any house rules you want to throw at me? You should probably tell me now so I have time to break them all before I leave," she teased, pouring the first pancake into the pan. She let it cook and got out two plates so that she could serve them up as soon as they were ready. It didn't take her long and soon there were two plates of warm, pink coloured pancakes, steaming and filling the kitchen with a wonderful aroma. She was glad that they had turned out so well and that she hadn't overdone them and ruined the taste of the blood.

"Alright, let's eat." Sia lifted the two plates and carried them back over to the table. "Any plans for the day?" she asked as she sat down and began to cut a piece off of her first pancake. She popped it into her mouth and chewed while she waited for his answer. After all, if he was busy she didn't want to be a nuisance and get in the way, but if he had nothing on then she would have to get her plan into action. Her stomach twisted a little with nerves. It felt weird to be attempting to seduce Jett. They'd been best friends for so long. Of course, she'd always thought he was handsome and he was definitely her favorite person to be around. Now that she thought about it, it was a wonder that they hadn't fooled around a little at some point. She supposed they'd both just gotten so wrapped up in their own lives that they hadn't given it much thought. She hadn't even been in the country for the past few years. Or maybe Jett just really didn't see her in that light. Maybe he really did just see her as a little sister. She supposed that in a way, he had been like a big brother to her, too. Especially growing up. She had no siblings and he had always been there for her.
