Yeah, I'm sorry about that. It wasn't actually planned, so I couldn't have told you anyway. It was more just busy life and keeping things in order elsewhere. But...I will get to the RP tomorrow before I go to bed. I don't have the time tonight, but I will get to it by then. =}

Aaand posted again. Finally. Apologies if I have him do a bit much. I was having a lot of fun with the fight and didn't want to give Auron a huge disadvantage in the form of four stab wounds so soon. xP I wanted him to fight on relatively even ground for just a little longer. xD

I feel like either i should stop turning my character's skill up to eleven, or you should take on a more agressive and opportunistic approach. Auron keep backing down under the pressure while Meats has shamelessly taken the lead, and it seems to me that you let him succumb to my character's attack all too often, even though there is a chance to escape, or even painfuly retaliate with a counter. I admit that so far, i have been reluctant to take a hit if i have the opportunity to aviod it, and that might be wrong to do if we are going for a more cinematic approach, but if we are playing a battle of wits, then it is simply a must, since the very goal of combat focused roleplay is actualy outsmarting the opponent in order to execute a nigh unaviodable attack yourself.

So yeah, i'd like to keep this fair, and for that reason, i'd like to know what kind of approach to arena roleplaying you would preffer. I dont mind either: adding in more fluff and purple prose to create a vivid and colorful post will be as much of a fun challenge as pitting my knowledge of combat against your's; though i really do fare better with the latter. XD

Ah no I'm sorry. It's probably mostly my fault. I've been accused of GM'ing a few times before on other sites so now I'm kind of afraid to be seen as a GMing person on other places. As a result, I've developed a tendency to put my characters in harm's way more than others and I have taken a preference for defeat in RP battles more often than victories. xD That's also why I've mostly been saying to excuse me and let me know if I've done anything a bit extreme.

But yeah, I don't mind either way myself. Although to be perfectly fair, I do not have extensive knowledge about combat myself. xD I have never really bothered to learn anything about it since it has never been required before. I just know that I typically enjoy having characters exchange/block/etc blows until one of them is unable to continue.

But when I introduce a character for battle, I use that character. I completely avoid self-inserting anything about me unless it's a self-inserted character like a per/fursona. I stick strictly to what that character would do in any given situation, rather than planning anything out outside of the RP. That's pretty much what I've done...and Auron has the particularly striking weakness that he tends to rush into things and rely on instinct rather than actual planning things out. So that's what I've been doing for the majority of the fight.

No worries, if you accidentialy break the rules, i won't break out into a shitstorm. If there is anything wrong, you can always just edit the post to make it viable.

And as for the fight itself, i'll have Meats lay back off Auron for a moment or two to let his recupirate, and then we'll continue the fight on even ground. Don't hesitate to dodge, counter or block where you can, since that is exactly what i have been doing all the time. XP

GTG, but i'll post later today.

Right, thanks for that. xD But still, I'm always terrified of taking things one step too far. And as a result of that, I have developed a tendency to let my characters get beaten a lot in combat (and if I'm honest, I have found myself enjoying the submissive/weaker side just as much as the stronger side xD).

Heheh...okay, I'll try to make it more challenging for you and Meats at the very least. xD My main issue with something like that is that since I want to give my opponent a chance to react to each step of my attack, I tend to just do Part 1 of the move...but then they do something that would render the rest of the move impossible, like moving a good distance away. So I've always had a hard time finding that perfect balance between just letting them do their thing or just doing something of my own all at once.

Just to let you know, it'll be a bit before I can get a reply up. I've got a bit of extra work that needs to be done lately, as the semester is coming into its last month or so. But I'll do it as soon as I can~
