Nadeline's jaw dropped. Was he crazy? Was he insinuating that the situation was her fault? The nerve of him! Oh she could shove him off the airship and not even care! What exactly did Emiri see in this vulgar, idiotic brute? Surely he wasn't so narrow minded to truly think that the situation was caused by her!

The blond haired girl then stood up, glaring at Jaakuna. The two were just about equal in height, with Nadeline missing but a few inches. "How DARE you! The entire reason we went was to discover what the Rozarrian Empress wanted with Emiri, and we got our answer! Would you rather have us run around blindly, not knowing anything?!" She huffed, clearly fuming. "Don't you think it's odd that the beast only appeared when she stepped forward? You know there are actually MORE out there as well! If either Empire gets their hands on her it's a ticket to more of those powers!"

Jaakuna was amused and a bit angry that this woman, Nadeline, actually thought Jaakuna was actually wrong in putting the blame on her. Perhaps he was slightly wrong, and perhaps what she said about Belias was true, but still. Jaakuna still believed that if Nadeline had never sought them out, if she had never showed them that book about the Tomb, Jaakuna wouldn’t be in this mess and he wouldn’t be arrested.

Jaakuna looked at her, getting in real close. He was tempted to hit her, but he didn’t. “Listen here, you little blonde bitch! I really don’t give a fuck about your empire or any of the shit they seek. I gave up caring about what either empire does a long time ago. “ Jaakuna said as he yelled right to her face. “The whole world could end tomorrow and I won’t care. Archadia could win, your precious Rozarrian Empire can win. Hell, Dalmasca could take the war, and guess what? No fucks will be given.” Jaakuna said turning away looking at the steel that made the cell. He punched the wall. “I simply don’t care..” Jaakuna said those words, but deep down he didn’t mean it. If someone was close enough, they could see tears forming at the edges of his eyes and the look in those very eyes were full of lies…and regret.

Nadeline glared daggers at him, the two equally matching their anger. She probably would've hit him already if years of restraint weren't on her, that and it was just unladylike to start a fight. Still, the way he mentioned he didn't care angered her even more. To her, he was just being ignorant. It didn't even matter about his status--prince, sky pirate, peasant, whatever. Many innocent people would suffer, and he was basically spitting in her face. She had worked much too hard to avoid this war, and wanted to do whatever it too if it meant the peoples' lives would be spared.

"It doesn't matter whether you care or not, it's happening regardless of any of our wishes." She replied cooly, once more taking her seat and crossing her legs. "If that is what you truly feel, then why did you bother saving Emiri when you did? Surely you could have just walked away, but you didn't. It may be a personal matter for that instance, but if those are your true feelings, you may as well hand her over now and spare us both the wasted time." She snapped. "Run away all you like, there are certain things in life we all must face whether we like it or not."

Jaakuna didn’t want to say it. He had been running from his brother, his family, and his home for so long. He loved them all, but how could he possibly explain? He killed his own father and it wasn’t cause he didn’t get the throne? That was something he couldn’t admit to anyone, and yet, he almost felt compelled to blurt it out to Nadeline, to Emiri, and in some aspects, to himself. He had dealt with it within himself for the most part, but now as he argues with this woman, he finds himself overtaken by grief and regret. Even now, as she says these harsh words, Jaakuna finds himself in a place where he can’t cope, but he must hide that part at least.

When he heard Nadeline speak, he lost it. He lost it so much that he rushed over in a fast, angry walk to Nadeline, picked her up by her clothes and pinning placing her against the wall. “First, do NOT confuse my lack of caring for the empires for my feelings for Emiri. Her I love, the empires, I do NOT. “ Jaakuna said, revealing a rather stunning truth that he didn’t want to admit, at least not until he was ready, but it just sort of came out. As soon as he realized this, Jaakuna let Nadeline go gently. “I’m, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that to you. I don’t know what came over me.” Jaakuna said as he walked to the door of the cell, just looking at it.

In some weird metaphorical way, the cell seemed to be fitting for him as this is how Jaakuna has been living — feeling, for the past three years. Ever since the death of his father, he felt like he belonged in a cell and he knew that eventually he would be in one. “You know, it’s funny. “ Jaakuna said smiling, turning to Emiri and Nadeline’s direction. “I did something — something bad, and I knew that eventually it would land me in a cell like this one..or worse. But, to be found out for trespassing is truly amusing. I just wonder how bad it would be if I were found out for murder..” Jaakuna stopped there. He couldn’t even bring himself to say it, let alone tell the two ladies about it. At least, not yet. He needed time to..well he doesn’t know what he needs time for, but he just knows right now isn’t the right time or place to do it.

Nadeline's jaw dropped once more, and she was stunned to silence. He didn't need to say more. No, she didn't want him to say anymore. She shifted in her seat, feeling somewhat uncomfortable. It was a foreign feeling for her, really, she was always so composed. Still, this bit of news was...shocking, to say the least. He did say 'if'. As much as things often flew over her head, she wasn't so stupid to miss that. She let out a sigh, leaning back against the wall. "Then it's a good thing we're not." She stated simply, and left it at that. She couldn't even garner the giddiness to appreciate that Jaakuna had essentially confessed his feelings for Emiri. Speaking of her, why wasn't she saying anything?

The blonde looked over at the brunette, who hadn't moved or said a word despite the argument. Emiri remained staring at the ground blankly. She had perked up slightly at the sound of her name, only to shrink back. Metaphorically speaking, she felt like she was drowning in her own guilt. And she felt tired. Why was she tired? Was it physically or mentally? Nadeline stood up and moved closer to her, lightly tugging at her arm. "Emi? Emi darling, what's wrong? Are you hurt? Please, say something." Nadeline was surprised when Emiri turned away from her, effectively curling up into a ball. "...Emiri?" Nadeline asked, starting to get worried.

It was good that Nadeline and Jaakuna had entered a neutral zone, so to speak. Jaakuna was still a little shocked that he revealed such a thing and oh god Emiri! How was she going to react? A simple kiss from Jaakuna to her made her heart beat, and it made her all nervous like, but now, it would probably just push her over the edge or something like that. Speaking of which, Jaakuna was surprised that she said nothing. Jaakuna looked towards Emiri and she was in a ball, well curled up in one, but still. Instantly, Jaakuna went over to her, hoping to get a handle on what’s wrong with her.

As he had got to her, he noticed she wasn’t right in her mind or something like that. “Emiri!” Jaakuna shouted, and nothing happened. So he tugged her a bit. “EMIRI!” Nothing happened still. So, he started to shake her like a maniac. “EMIRI! EMIRI! EMIRI!” He yelled her name over and over, but still nothing. Jaakuna was getting scared. “Dammit woman, snap out of it.” Then Jaakuna did the unthinkable. SLAP! Yes, he slapped her clear across the face. Perhaps that would snap her out of it.

Emiri looked up at Jaakuna, eyes wide with surprise. Did he just hit her? And across the face? Wait, no, that wasn't quite right. Nadeline would've had both her hands over her mouth if they weren't bound. He hit her! Well, no, technically he just slapped her. Still, it was a rather brash and bold move. Not one Nadeline would ever think to resort to. After a moment, Nadeline gently patted her arm, trying to amend the situation, though she did give Jaakuna a 'why did you slap her' look. Still, it worked, so to speak, though how effective it was was entirely up to opinion. Once the moment had passed, Emiri closed her eyes and looked down, though she opened her eyes once more to stare at Jaakuna. "What?" She asked rather shortly.

Nadeline opened her mouth to respond, but quickly closed it. Maybe she'd let Jaakuna handle this one.

What? That’s all she had to say! Jaakund didn’t even know where to begin. She had been so blanked out the entire time and that’s all she had to say was what? MY god, this woman had no idea what happened in the five minutes they have been in here. “What? Are you freaking kidding me? You’ve been zoned out for five minutes, nearly gave the both of us a heart attack. I mean goodness, if anything were to happen to you…” Jaakuna said getting up. He realized how much he felt for Emiri. There was no denying it. He loved her. She didn’t know that…yet as seen from her lack of, well reaction to everything. “I’m just glad you’re back with us.” Jaakuna simply said, helping Emiri up.

"Oh." Was her only response. Had she really blanked out? It had been a very long time since she had done that. Well, not that long...but still. She looked around at the cell, from Jaakuna's face to Nadeline's worried look, and her guilt nearly crushed her right there and then. Neither one of them would even be in this mess if it wasn't for her. Emiri's shoulders shook slightly, and the girl shook her head. It was her fault. It was all her fault. "I..." She started, trying to control the wavering of her voice, but it all seeped out, and she couldn't control herself. Emiri finally started crying, looking down at the ground. She couldn't look at either of them. "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...this...this is all my fault, isn't it?" She sobbed, the tears she had been holding back finally rolling down her cheeks.

Seeing Emiri blame herself and cry like she never had done before made Jaakuna just feel even worse, especially for slapping the bajeebers out of her. He had to. She wasn’t coming through from Nadeline’s pleas to have her come back to her or even when Jaakuna was yelling at her. So, slapping her was the only thing that made sense, at least at the time it did in Jaakuna’s mind.

When Emiri would say that all of what has happened is all her fault, Jaakuna just about lost it, but not in anger. No, he didn’t even get angry or was he even close to be. He knelt down on one knee, and pulled Emiri into a hug. “It’s not your fault okay? We’re in here just cause of that bitch called Curiosity. So don‘t go and saying shit like that okay?” Jaakuna said as he just held her there and let her cry it out. He didn’t know what else to do but just let it happen naturally.

Curiosity, was it? No, that wasn't it at all. She needed to properly say what was needed to say. And yet, as he held her, all she wanted to do was keep crying. It was so frustrating, but she couldn't help it. She felt like a child again, but it was somewhat comforting for him to say that. Emiri shook her head, trying to explain herself in between hiccups. "N-No...y-you don't understand...I-I can't do anything..." She sobbed, trying to control herself, but failing miserably. "I should--I should have been able to get us out of there, b-but nothing I do works...I can't s-stop time a-anymore..." She spoke between sobs, shaking her head frantically. "A-After all this time...Y-Years of w-wishing I never h-had it...and now it's-it's just gone...!"

Nadeline raised both eyebrows at this, giving a concerned look at Jaakuna. "I would put the blame on the cuffs. They are designed to disrupt any form of magicks and Mist abilities...Please calm down, darling, none of this is your fault at all." She tried to assure her.

"No, you don't understand!" Emiri then cried out, burying her head into Jaakuna's chest. "It happened wh-when we faced the Gigas, too! When I went to attack...I couldn't stop it...so I got struck down. Ever since then I haven't been able to do it at all!"

Nadeline didn't understand Emiri's power in the first place, so she was at a loss to say anything. Her aunt mentioned the ability to control time, but this was a rather curious situation. So did she really just lose her power? Perhaps it was a mental block--she did mention regretting said powers, so maybe she was subconsciously blocking them? Then again, she mentioned the fight with the Gigas, and suddenly her reckless charge made more sense. At this point Nadeline was deep in thought. No, it was not Emiri that had blocked her powers, it had to have been an outside source. Perhaps when the Dalmascan army appeared their ships sent out an Anti-Mist wave? But the timing couldn't be right, the three of them were fighting with no issues. What could it be?

Just letting it out, Jaakuna let her. He knew that she needed this, but as she would talk more and more, Jaakuna soon realized why she was crying. It was cause she had somehow lost access to her powers. Nadeline commented on how the cuffs were to blame and although Jaakuna wanted to jump in agreement, something was bugging him about it all. If it was truly the cuffs, then why didn’t her powers work when she had grabbed Jaakuna and Nadeline’s hands before they surrendered. Jaakuna just knew it had to be something different.

When Emiri brought up battle with The Gigas, Jaakuna thought back. He remembered when she was knocked down, so maybe that’s when it happened, but Jaakuna didn’t think that The Gigas would be the sole reason for her time-stopping powers to stop working. This truly confused him. Jaakuna brought Emiri’s face up to his as he looked into her eyes. “Listen, whatever it was, we’ll find a way to fix it as soon as he get out the jam we are in right now.” Jaakuna said as he got up, helping Emiri get up as well.

As he got up, Jaakuna just looked around the steel box that they were in. He was looking for any way that they could possibly escape, but Jaakuna didn’t see one. As he kept on looking, there was a knock on the door. Jaakuna instantly faced the door, and as it opened, he couldn’t believe it.

“Oh what do we owe the great pleasure, Prince Wesley?” Jaakuna said with an obvious attitude.

The prince looked at Jaakuna, and smiled with a hm sound. He looked at Emiri, then to Nadeline. The black, slick hair would make any woman swoon in his presence. Perhaps it was in good measure since women seemed to fall for him

Wesley turned to the guard who was holding the door open. He waved the guard to close it. The guard did and Wesley spoke to his prisoners personally. “Okay look, you guys--” He started to say until the ship was rocked to the leftside, thus flinging all four of them — Jaakuna, Wesley, Emiri, and Nadeline — to the left all at the same time. They would all hit the wall.

Wesley got up, surprised and slightly angry. He didn’t know what was going on and he wanted to find out. He went to the door, knocked on it, and said. “What’s going on?”

There was a silence for four minutes until the door opened, and the guard finally showed his face. “I’m sorry , it would seem that the Royal City is under attack, milord.” The guard said.

Wesley’s face lit up in surprise. “Who is attacking us.” He asked.

“The Archadian Empire, your highness.” The guard said.

Jaakuna’s face lit up. He couldn’t believe it that they were actually here.

Wesley left the prisoners, but Jaakuna spoke up. “Hey, prince!” Jaakuna said, speaking up.

Wesley stopped and looked towards Jaakuna. “Not now.”

Jaakuna walked forward, just a few feet in front of Wesley. “I don’t know how bad it is, but on one command and we can help. I have one of the best airships in Ivalice, the Ifrit.” He stated.

Wesley was shocked but he smiled. “And where is this airship? Last I checked, you didn’t board it when my men apprehended you.” He asked.

Jaakuna laughed and then smiled. “Well, you didn’t sense it on whatever radar shit you have, but my ship has been following this lovely warship of yours ever since we were taken.” Jaakuna said.

Wesley thought about it and while it was risky, he knew that he wasn’t in any position to decline help. “Fine, but you’re still going to be held accountable for your actions.’ Wesley said as he, against his obvious better judgment, would shake Jaakuna’s hands and let him and the two ladies go.

The brunette nodded, slightly relieved to at least having let it out. Nadeline smiled to herself, though feigned ignorance as she looked at her nails. Once they got up, however, the blonde let out a huff of indigence, stating, "Exactly how long is it taking for us to get there? Rabanastre isn't THAT far." She just about had enough of being locked up like a criminal. Didn't they have their rights or whatever? Not that she would know...normally she would be at the other side of the judicial system, on the lawful side. Well, there was always a first time for everything. Her father would surely punish her for certain this time; he was a stickler for rules, really. She watched Jaakuna and Emiri look around, though let out another irritated sigh.

Emiri rolled her eyes, turning to Nadeline. She was about to speak when the door opened up, though rather then a guard, the prince himself seemed to grace them with his presence. Nadeline blinked a few times, though she carefully avoided eye contact, lest she be recognized. Emiri was also surprised, but more that he seemed as if he wanted to tell them something. Before he could, however, the group was suddenly thrown to the side, and Emiri felt her head collide with the wall. She let out a groan as she got to her feet, shaking her head lightly. One of these days she's going to get a concussion. It would seem they were under attack--by the Archadian Empire, no less.

Once the cuffs were off, Emiri was more then glad. "Quite a bold move, attacking Rabanastre without provocation." Nadeline mused lightly, looking outside. "Should Dalmasca fall into Archadian hands, this will turn the tide for the war."

"But Archadia and Rozarria aren't at war." Emiri said.

"Once my--once the Empress hears about this, she will be sure to prepare the troops. Dalmasca is right on the border of Rozarria, after all. Using Rabanastre's fall, they will declare war on the premises of defense." Nadeline explained. "It's only a matter of time."

Up in the blue sky, several ships marked with the insignia of the Archadian Empire, they hover above both the Dalmasca Estersand and Westerdand, completely blocking any traffic from either side to get into Rabanastre and any of the royal forces from mobilizing to attack them. Granted, they have already mobilized some forces, it would seem that most of those forces have been taken out for the most part.

In the fleet that is above the city of Rabanastre, in the center of it all is the Dreadnought Odin, a mighty ship that is long and almost narrow looking, but it has multiple areas of the ship that are fully equipped with weapons, ammo, and a fully crew. Everyone aboard the ship serve the Archadian Empire and Judge Ixion, or as some refer to him as the Lightning Falcon. He is young looking, with long flowing blonde hair. He has an Archadain-made sword known as Bolt. He harnesses the most of Lightning black magic as he has mastered it to a way that he can freely manipulate it to the very best of his abilities.

Aboard the Odin, in the very large cockpit, there stands Judge Ixion and General Savayna, who after a very long morning, remembered where her place was in Emperor Vincent’s rankings.

Standing as fierce as ever, Ixion spoke. “Are our ships ready for attack round two?” He asked.

The driver of the Odin responded. “Yes sir, they are at your command.” He spoke, sitting in his char.

Ixion was pleased and he spoke. “Fire at once.” He ordered.

The fleet that Judge Ixion commanded was known as the Tenth Fleet of the Archadian Empire. The fleet itself had three cruiser class ships, and three light cruiser ships. The rest are fighter ships.

As the Odin prepared weapons, first it shot at Rabanastre through the Bazaar, killing the innocents within the vicinity . The bazaar itself was torn to bits as roofs caved in and everything that was standing. The beam itself that did this was straight and a pure white. It was much like a holy spell, but definitely nothing holy about what it did. Every stand and building was either on fire or completely wrecked with rubble and caved in roofs. Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that the Bazaar is completely finished.

“Now, dispatch one hundred of our soldiers into the city. Put up a barrier around the city and find me the Dusk Shard. We must obtain it for his lordship, Emperor Vincent.” Judge Ixion said. “I put General Savayna In charge as I see to matters of more importance,” He said as he proceed to walk out of the cockpit and as soon as he did that, Savayna stayed to oversee operations. As she did that, an order went out through the speakers telling the 100 Archadian Soldiers to get ready for beam up.

Within five minutes, the soldiers would be dispatched and beamed down to the Royal City of Rabanastre Ixion wanted to get it overwith, but he knew that the Rabanastre Royal Forces would not just sit idly by while their city became taken over by the Archadian Empire. That’s why Ixion would see to it that this goes according to plan.
When Wesley let the three of them go, Jaakuna, Emiri, and Nadeline had followed the prince down to where he would first let them reclaim their weapons. Jaakuna would get back his four weapons, Emiri her three, and Nadeline her one weapon. Then, as they would soon proceed to the teleportation device within the Valefor, that would drop them off via the warping of a beam-like way just three miles outside of Rabanastre. As they touched ground level, Jaakuna was just so happy to be out of that cell. He knew that things were bad, but he was free.

“You know, we don’t even have to help them. Seriously! We can get out of here and they wouldn’t even know it.” Jaakuna, being the idiot that he is, he brought up the idea of running away and going against his word. He was kidding of course…well half-kidding, anyways. “Even if they catch on, we’d be so far out of dodge, they wouldn’t know where we would be at.”

Both Emiri and Nadeline each gave Jaakuna a look, but for different reasons:

"You've already offered to help them." Was Emiri's simple response.

"If this is not stopped there'll be more casualties." Was Nadeline's quicker and harsher response. She then eyed the city warily, placing one hand on her hip. "I don't think we'll just be able to get in smoothly. No doubt they'll made sure to block off the city entirely...if only there was another way in."

Another way in...like the way we came out before. Emiri thought, lightly shifting in her boots. Just the idea was getting her uncomfortable already, or was it the heat? Still, there weren't exactly a lot of options hanging around, and as much as she'd know Jaakuna would be more then happy to go in swords ablaze, this called for a more indirect approach. She shook her head, then looked at Jaakuna. "We could always go in through the Garamsythe Waterway. You did block off the entrance to Lowtown, remember? There was also this rumor that spread around the Sandsea that one could get into the castle that way...maybe at the very least we could offer our aid there?"

They both gave him the dirty look. Jaakuna’s initial thought was What did I do? He decided to not speak that question as it would get him more dirty looks. He heard Nadeline talk about what this could do to Rabanastre should they not intervene. Jaakuna was just kidding when he brought up the idea of going against his word. ”Jeez, haven’t you ladies ever heard of a joke?”” Jaakuna said shrugging it off. He knew that they had to intervene somehow. When Emiri brought up the idea of going through the Garamsythe Waterway, Jaakuna was brought to good times. “Ah, I remember it like yesterday.” He said, eyes closed, arms folded across chest, and nodding of the head in a vertically way.

Emiri gave Jaakuna a completely deadpan look. "It WAS yesterday." She reminded him. It felt like ages ago, now that she thought about it. Indeed, too many things were happening in such a short amount of time.

Nadeline wrinkled her nose slightly at the idea. The waterway was used to distribute water throughout Rabanastre. She had read about it in a book once. Still, while it was clean for the most part, some parts were very...sewage like. And filthy. Very, very filthy. Last she heard there was a monstrous flan going on about, as well as some rather horrid creatures that ade traversing into the deeper parts very dangerous. "The Garamsythe Waterway...? Wouldn't we get all wet and dirty?" Nadeline asked meekly, hoping to be wrong, but she already knew the answer before it came.

Emiri had reminded Jaakuna that it was yesterday. He had already forgotten that it was indeed yesterday. Or did he? Who is to say? He could had forgotten or actually was just doing that to have fun with Emiri. Regardless, it would seem that their only way to get into the palace. Even though Jaakuna was all for getting to the palace, he did had to ask the question of the Archadian Soldiers.

When he was just about to ask that question, Nadeline had asked her own about the Waterway. She was right. It was all dirty and that anyone who goes through it is bound to get dirty themselves, and wet. “Yeah, we’re going to get wet, you got a problem with it?” Jaakuna somewhat hissed at her as he said that.

"Well...that is to say...water alone isn't that much of an issue but..." Nadeline grumbled, crossing her arms as they began to walk. After a moment, the entrance was revealed, no soldiers to be seen, neither Dalmascan nor Archadian. "What about the monsters?" She asked, biting her lip slightly

"There weren't any when we came out. Doubt there'll be any when we go in. Besides, I am sure the three of us can handle it." Emiri replied, prying open the entrance. She looked inside--it was as dark as ever. She let out a sigh and began to crawl through, stating, "Come on then, it's not going to get any better." She didn't like the idea any more then Nadeline did, but as she crawled, she noticed something odd. The area actually seemed dry; had someone changed the sluice waterways since yesterday? As she popped up on the other side, she made sure there was no one around before getting up, dusting herself off, and withdrawing her weapon.

Nadeline peered through the passageway, motioning to Jaakuna. "Well then...after you." She spoke, lightly patting her skirt. She hoped it wouldn't be as disgusting as she had heard.
