Bleach: The Silent Legacy

Alright, here's the deal - Bleach

I know, I know: a franchise that has been RP-ed countless times already and will probably be just as many more in the future. Don't bite my head off right away and read on.

Setup in a nutshell will look something like this - completely new generation of Captains/Lieutenants... Shinigami in general. New villains, new dangers, new heroes.

No Aizens, no Byakuyas, Ichigos, Ishidas, Orihimes (okay, maybe one Orihime, just because... er... pretty hair?

Rings a bell? Indeed, most Bleach RP's have that kind of a nutshelly setup. Which is not a bad thing at all, but the key lies in the realization of it - all those small details that make RP's thoroughly enjoyable.

Now, I'm not going to lay out the entire plot here, because this interest check is more of a search for partners in crime than it is an advertisement for a completely though out RP. What I am seeking here is, let's say, two people that would be willing to co-gm this roleplay along my side - think of ideas, concepts for new villains, shaping plot. A small group of game masters that would serve as a sort of Central 46 when it comes down to decisions.

The main goal of this is to make an elaborate RP, a thought-out Bleach universe with a decent game system, likable arcs (awesome plots) and a variety of never-ending fun.

Sounds hard to accomplish?

No? That's the spirit! Should a few serious and striving individuals come together, I'm absolutely positive we can mold this into something lasting and amazing.

Of course, since this is an interest check/a co-gm job ad - a lot of work is to be expected before this is cut out into a diamond and let out as a legit RP.

Why am I even doing this, one may wonder. Back in the days before the GuildFall, I was a part of a certain Bleach RP. The thing is, the first season of the RP was completed and since it was my first RP ever that was actually finished, it took a special place in my memory.

The second season didn't really last as long, but it was something special. I don't really remember a lot of names of people that participated in it (damn you, bad memory) and, as far as I know, some even retired from RPing for good. So I don't really think anyone will recognize himself/herself in this, but it can't hurt to try.

The RP was called Rise of the Arrancar (if I'm not once more mistaken) and hence this Silent Legacy as an homage to it.

Reminiscing aside, if anyone has strong enough will and passion to take part in shaping a Bleach RP - please, the stage is all yours.

Edit: I don't know how effective I will be at Co-Gming but I'm more than happy to dream up and even play the bad guys and I can give you some ideas for plot, I did have a Bleach RP of my own at one point that started very promisingly but fell through because I had to leave.

The thing I always loved about Bleach RP's is that the possibilities are almost endless. Limitless options for abilities, even new races. It's an adorable universe ^.^

Personlly I actually dislike the various races. I much prefer seeing a Shinigami fight a Arrancar than a Vizard against a Quincy, they were never meant to be a lot of them yet when RP's pop up you get 2 Soul Reapers and 7 Vizard. I would actually much prefer it if you could only be a Shinigami, the extent of their powers us up to the player to decide but if anyone can be anything it's going to be a bit complicated.

But obviously it's up to everyone.

True that. I do like various races, but mostly because they were almost limited to a chosen few that carried on the legacy of that race - like Ishida being only Quincy around in the beginning. But I do have to agree that having 10 Vizard characters and 2 Shinigami is not as great imo.

Also, I never really took a liking to Vizards in the first place. :P

Plot

Gorou Nobunaga, the lost Shinigami

Almost a millennium ago Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni was to be placed at the head of Squad one, to become the Captain Commander of the thirteen court guard squads. The appointment was to the surprise of no one and it was predicted by many that he would become one of the most powerful men to ever sit atop the Seireitei. Become. It was only said because he was not yet the most powerful, because there was another. Gorou Nobunaga. The man was infamous, his power had become legend as would the captain commanders. Nobunaga however powerful he might have been, was not approached for the position of Captain commander for he was deemed an 'unstable entity'. The members of central 46 did not trust him from the beginning but the reason they did not act was due to his volatile nature, and a man with that much power and such short a fuse would not take kindly to the sanctions central 46 would have placed upon him.
Their worries were about to be put to rest however. The ceremony was complete and the newly christened captain commander Yamamoto was to give his first edict as the head of the Gotei squads. To strip the rank and status of the Shinigami Gorou Nobunaga, to imprison him. Stares of surprise and concern were seen on almost every face in the crowd, but once face was still, calm. Nobunaga himself took his sword from his side, he stepped towards the Captain commander as the surrounding Captains prepared to draw in anticipation of the fight that would ensue Yamamoto's order. Nobunaga did not draw however, he fell to one knee and raised his sheathed sword to Yamamoto, "So be it" he said before he was escorted from Sokyoko hill.

The news spread in moments and whilst the majority were in favor of the mans imprisonment a particular minority was not. Nobunaga's squad. After fighting tooth and nail with the central 46 they were brought to their knees in reluctance, they could not do a thing, they could not save their beloved Captain. Soon after several members of Nobunaga's squad disappeared from the Seireitei, and after searches were unsuccessful it was clear they were not even in soul society.

Jakakumei (邪革命 – wordplay meaning ‘revolution of vengeful ghosts’) are a group of rogue Shinigami who are called “The Jacks” by locals. They are known for their stealthy demeanor and wearing masks. Although their members are not regulated strictly in regards to uniform, they are all required to wear a blue robe and carry a personal mask.

The Jakakumei were formed after the imprisonment of Gorou Nobunaga, a former captain of the Gotei 13, by captain Yamamoto himself. His squad put up resistance to the act, but eventually had to flee from Seireitei. These Shinigami and their descendants are the members of Jakakumei, and now call the Rukon-district their home.

Color me interested in being a player in such a grand, ambitious game. There is always a need for character or two that are simply players to support the story and I am always more than willing to play such a role. Perhaps if my schedule opens up more in the future I could contribute to story/plot ideas.

Used to co-gm a group based bleach RP some years back. So I'd love to help with the general organization, thinking up plot-twists and character development. In addition to participating of course.

Would also like to express support of Ever's proposal of having it being shinigami dominant. For much of the same reasons previously stated.

And yes, I like the basic concept of your plot, but I do have a few questions, so correct me if I'm wrong - the plot revolves around former members of Nobunaga squad and The Jacks, right? They are not the same people?

It could work nice to have some of former squad members seeking out revenge or something along the lines (especially since the name is the silent legacy, actually fits pretty well with the concept)

But I am not a big fan of RPs with canon characters, so I was actually thinking of making a fresh set of Captains, which makes me think - if Yamamoto is not in the RP, the plot should be tweaked around a little to make it matter and all that more connected.

@Grimm, why not have both factions be descendents of both the original members of nobunaga's squad and the jacks? That way the motives would remain the same, yet the characters would all be fresh. Doing it that way could also add an additional layer of emotional conflict across the collective cast. As most of the current denizens of the soul society would probably be oblivious to the events that transcended the ensuing chaos, forcing them to not only deal with the threat literally, but to also lust to uncover the history behind it as well.

I actually had something close to that in mind, to be completely honest - but just wanted to ask the original maker of the plot, before proceeding to tweak it around.

However, I do like that idea, mainly because (as you mentioned) it gives another emotional layer to it all. And after adding a few more details to the plot, it could be a really good premise in my opinion :3

The only other thing that my heart misses here is just a good ol' plot twist and I'm happy.

Well I have a few ideas in that regard, though the most prominent of which is only plausible if Ever approves. I was thinking that, in the midst of everything, nobunaga could make an return. As to how that'd be possible, its anyone's guess ATM. However it would make things more dire if he were to arise in my opinion.

Another idea that came to mind would focus more on a few PCs and their relationships with one another. Where certain characters could use the situation to enact plans of their own. The results of this one would vary depending on the cast and which individuals opt to be involved.

That's always an idea that could be a main focus of the RP, but instead planning this one out, I always liked to let things go their own flow. It would be nice if a few PC could use it to bring even more chaos when stuff hits the fan, but of course it depends hugely on the cast.

I'll read through all this tonight, don't have time just now but I'll quickly say you can butcher/mess with my plot all you like. And the Jakakumei is a band of guys who used to be squad members of Nobunaga, just one group of shinigami.

EDIT: Ok! I'm back and I've read through the stuff. So! first of all I'm gonna link my old RP so you can actually have a look since you seem happy to adopt a similar premise (Also you could probably get a few more players by contacting those who were in it)

Secondly we did have a plot twist that involved the Jakakumei breaking into central 46 and releasing Nobunaga from his prison (Much like Aizens prison) But I can't for the life of me remember the proper twist (It was something along the lines of Nobunaga wanted to be imprisoned hence why he went quietly) but either way we can put a new spin on it.
