The rain poured heavily upon the grey city setting a dark tone. It was early afternoon but the clouds blocking the sun made it appear much later in the day. Lights across the city had begun to lit, despite the early hour. Far in the darkened and abandoned corner of the city the Hybrids made their home. The blocks were filled with caved in buildings, rubble, and abandoned cars from the years of the war. No humans wandered this far from the safety of civilization, except the hunters. An eery silence had settled over the empty streets despite the heavy rainfall. Something felt and looked off. Something was wrong.

Keaira stood beneath a long broken street light listening to the rain. Closing her eyes she listened for the sound of movement, of life. "It's too quiet." She murmured to herself. "Even with the rain. It's today..It's happening today." Unfolding large mismatched wings she bolted into the sky without a second thought.

Trace slammed an angry fist on the small table. He stood in a room surrounded by military officials and scientists. "I told you to stop it." His voice took on an almost calm tone.
"Well, sir, Y..You were overruled." A smaller man stood across the table trembling. "The..The president denied it himself..He..He says the broadcast with help..pro..promote peace."
"Promote peace?" Trace scoffed. "You can tell me how the peace is.." Pulling his gun he aimed it at the man's head. "In hell." With out a moments hesitation a shot was fired through the mans skull scattering the contents of his head on the wall. "Bring me my pet."
"Yes sir." Terra nodded and left the room to retrieve him.

Arthur strolled through the rain, even though the rain made his footing even worse then usual he loved it, the smell, the taste, the ... he had fallen flat on his face. he heard a laugh from behind him, he glanced back with a slightly annoyed expression. "i hoping you're enjoying this Aqua"
the girl smiled from her wheelchair "i am, thank you"
"could you help me up?" he asked, sourly.
she rolled over to him and stood up, pulling him to his feet before sitting back down "how are you that clumsy?"
"hey you try walking with 2 extra feet and a front half that weighs 30 pounds more then your back half"
"30 whole pounds? wow" she wheeled ahead of him before he could hit her, she laughed "come on, let's go find Alessia"
"fine" he smiled a little at the girl as she slowly wheeled ahead of him "let me" he took the handles of the back and started pushing.
"just don't fall on me"
"don't worry, i use you to keep me up"

Alessia had been curled up on the roof of a building when it started to rain, she had hissed and quickly escaped into the building, which she had been exploring since. she was crawling along, purring at the excitement of the dark exploration when she stumbled upon heaven, otherwise known as a former technophile hive. it was covered, wall-to-wall with technology, most of it 'broken' but as this had obviously been a technophile's home at some point (even if it was pretty old) she knew the machines would work give the right 'motivation'. she sat in a swivel chair that squeaked annoyingly and hurt her fragile ears. then flicked the on switch on what appeared to be the main computer, nothing, she hit it again, this time applying a charge and the computer came to life, the first thing she noticed was 2 little tabs, one labeled 'cameras', the other 'turrets'
"oh this is going to be fun".

Natasha sat on a small park bench, tossing rocks at a flickering Powerade sign. After quite a few tosses the thing looked like it would fall apart any minute, and the image of the multicolored sports drinks flickered and disoriented violently. Natasha threw one last stone at the sign. It flickered, diisoriented and sparked before it became completely blank, and Natasha smiled with satisfaction.

Sonja sat in the middle of it all, watching the hybrids go about their day. The city was far from civilization and there was no way she could run the whole way home. She sighed deeply and buried her head in her face. She was smart. She could think of a way out. But how? I'm stuck here. For good. Sonja got up and decided to take a walk to vent her frustrations.

In a dark isolated room akin to a cell, a man was sleeping in a small bed, wearing a white button up shirt and special lightweight pants. This man's name was Hawk. He sat there, with his eyes closed, gazing off into the blackness of his eyelids. He never truly slept, as he had to be always available for battle, however, he could occasionally put himself into a meditative state for a while. When he heard footsteps coming down the hall, he knew instantly. He hopped to his feet and in one fluid motion, grabbed a black trench coat with built in gloves from the wall and pulled it onto his body, and then in another fluid motion, snapped his right arm to the right, and two grappling hooks snapped across the wall, grabbing his arsenal of weapons, and snapping back, he grabbed the weapons with both his hands and swiftly attached them to his utility belt under the trench coat. At this point, a blonde haired girl had already appeared outside of the cell, green scales sparkling like tears on the one side of her face. He nodded, and walked swiftly ahead of her, knocking on the door to his master's meeting chamber.
Burning buildings, screaming, and a little girl with angel wings was crashing to the ground. He felt himself strain to scream, caught dead in the eyes of the man who shot the angel down. In his eyes he saw red flames. Devon woke up with a start and strained not to scream. He ran to the bathroom and almost hurled, staring up at himself in the mirror. Black hair. Red eyes. The same red eyes that looked back at him in the nightmare. The same red eyes he had hated since he could even remember, right on his face. He sighed, splashed some water on his face, and opened the door to his hotel room. Oh, don't get me wrong, he isn't in a normal hotel room. As he walked out of the room, rubble surrounded him, and a narrow tunnel was ahead of him. He had found a small tunnel in the side of a crashed hotel years ago, and it had been made into his home. He walked out of the rubble, looking around. Everything was too quiet. He had a really bad feeling about this. The only person in sight was a woman who was a bit shorter than Devon, with short brown hair. "Hey, do you know where everyone else is?" He asked her. She was walking alone.
Another wonderful morning. Nothing ever happened in Hanna's life. All she did was sit around in school all day, and maybe hang out with friends afterwards. But today was different. "Hanna, we shouldn't be doing this!" Said a nervous Carly, one of Hanna's friends. "Oh stop being a chicken!" Hanna sighed, and Another one of her friends named Amanda loudly agreed with her. "It's just the broken half of the city, nobody comes here anymore, so we shouldnt get in trouble or anything. Hanna and her three friends were skipping school. They had hopped the fence covered in "DANGER" signs , and were now making there way into the ruins to goof off. Her friends were Carly, Amanda, and Charlie. Carly had short blonde hair and glasses, Amanda was tall and had bright red hair, and Charlie was short, the only male in the group, with short black hair. He was very quiet, and Hanna had had a crush on him since forever. However, what they thought would just be fun changed when Hanna saw something strange standing atop a building. "What's that?" She wondered aloud. When nobody answered, she turned around to find all of her friends had vanished. "GUYS!?" She screamed frantically. But they were gone. And as Hanna heard something land loudly right behind her, she didnt even look back. She just ran for her life.

The urban jungle that was now his home was rotten. Buildings crumbled and old rusting cars clogged the once busy streets. It reeked of death, sorrow and despair. Rage huffed and spat at the ground. The rain did little to help the already depressing visage of the ruined city scape. If anything it only added to the doom and gloom. Humans in a quest to cure their own ignorance were responsible for all of it. Destruction of an entire city district and thousands of lives.. as well as those surviving in the misery. Rain washed the drying blood from his claws and fur as he stuck his hand out from underneath the awning that covered part of the balcony. It joined the drops on the balcony floor, mixing in with the water before slipping out onto the street below via drainage hole. A remnant of the last human that he'd slain just last night. Rage snarled at the thought of the now very dead man.

He stood there watching the rain from the balcony in the abandoned apartment that he'd procured on the third story of a crumbling complex. It was one of the few residences that had all of its walls mostly intact. His sharp eyes and keen sense of smell picked up several other hybrids down in the street, strolling through the rain as if they were enjoying themselves. Rage scoffed at this and lowered his hand. After everything that has happened. After everything they took away from the Hybrids… these people were smiling and laughing? His hands clenched into fists and he put one through the wall by the balcony door before turning on his heel and grabbing his jacket on the way out the door.

"Natasha is throwing rocks at a Powerade sign and Keaira flew off to somewhere. Asseia went to some dark alley or something." Sonja sighed irritably. She was not really in the mood for a chat with anyone. "I'm just taking a walk around. What have you been up to?" She stared up into the sky hopelessly, looking at the dark, puffy clouds.

Natasha, now bored, shot up into the sky. She kept going until she could see some figures on the ground, and lowered herself to watch. Three girls, obviously huans, climbed over the gate around the city when suddenly soeone appeared behind them. Natasha looked closer to see who it was.

Vex marched through the rain his feet beating against the pavement. His gun came up and he maintained sight acquisition as he came down the narrow alley the rain bouncing off his weapon. He came out into the street again on the other side this time sprinting into the middle and quickly taking cover behind an abandoned car. His quarry was unlike anything ever hunted before it looked like neither beast nor man but a mixture of both. The military had paid him good money to come in as a lone merc and try to kill as many of the infestation as possible. Then again if the infestation were willing to give him something of greater value then he just might switch sides. Moving alongside the wall he scanned the immediate area before ducking inside a building and taking cover under some stairs. he popped the cap on a bottle of soda and pulled an MRE out of his bag there were worse places to have a meal.

Keaira flew over the city the rain pelting her wing making her flight difficult. Folding her wings around her she plummeted towards the ground. The wind whistled pasted her as she counted slowly. Before hitting the ground her wing unfolded slowing her fall enough to prevent injury. A small echoing thud made it's way down the street with her landing. After ending her flight early she had no idea where she had landed. Her wings relaxed to a resting position against her back.

Using her ears she tried to see the world around her but the pounding rain blurred the picture. Keaira brushed her wet hair out of her eyes and cautiously took a step forward. In the pouring rain she had to take a chance and try to get home. Stepping forward she timidly reached her hands out in front of her.
Trace stared down at the yellow folders in his hand with a cold look. The Targets in the folders needed to be taken down before they could cause trouble. A knock echoed on the door. "Ah. So you're here." He knew the Hybrid was on the other side of the door. He viewed the hybrid has a tool, a useful tool, but a tool. "Come in already."

Alessia looked at a camera screen, apparently it was the only camera still operating and had been left on by whoever had previous lived here, it was staring out at the street, a broken street lamp lay partially in the street, she couldn't see anything else though, it annoyed her, she pouted and started searching the computer for any thing to tell her where the other cameras were so she could fix them. she didn't even know where this one was pointing.
apparently none of the turrets were still online, that made her pout some more, and the chair was getting on her nerves, she would have to have someone get her a better chair for this, like the chair in her own nest of technology beneath the city. when the rain started to let up she'd head down there.

Arthur walked faster while pushing the wheelchair, as he didn't have to be quite as careful about tripping, the girl was silent, she hadn't said anything for awhile "i think Alessia was planning on wandering around the east district"
"i don't know if wandering constitutes a plan" Aqua said. Arthur looked down at her and realized a light grey fog was developing beneath them, he cleared his throat and stopped pushing, coming around to her front and, carefully, leaning down "what's wrong?"
"nothing's wrong" she said, looking away, up at the clouds.
"you're making it fog Aqua, don't lie to me"
the girl looked back at him, and shook her head "just a bad day"
he looked at her for a few seconds then said "it's today then?" she nodded, he sighed and stood back up "come on, let's go find our cat"

Natasha sensed something as she watched two of the girls leave their friend. She saw that the winged creature was Keaira, and Natasha slowly got closer and closer until she saw that Keaira was blinded by the rain, and didn't know she was standing right in front of a human girl. Her hand reached for her dagger, glistening with a poison that took effect once it entered the victim's bloodstream. Natasha suddenly felt the strange feeling again, as if something horribly wrong was going to happen. The girl started to run and Natasha decided she should catch her, and swooped down in front of the girl. "Who are you?" Natasha yelled.

Hanna screamed, twirling around looking back and forth from Natasha and Keaira, and looking at their wings, she fainted, right in between them.
Hawk walked into the room, and seeing bloodstains on the wall, understood that master must be in a bad mood. He dare not sit, instead he stood over master's right shoulder and said "What is it that is required of me?"
Devon looked over the girl curiously as it began to pour. "Say, I haven't seen you before, have I-" A scream interrupted his words, and he turned around and darted down the street towards it. He saw a girl laying on the road in between two winged girls, whom he vaguely recognized. "What happened here!?" He screamed over the pouring rain, trying to settle this with reason, as his powers would mostly fail in the rain, and it was obvious these two girls had done something to this girl.

The weather didn't bother him in the slightest. If anything the rain was just another weapon, coating everything in water that was ready to freeze and be used against his enemies. His clawed toes were bare and with every step he left a patch of frost behind him. The rest of his feet all the way up his calf were wrapped in bandages akin to that of a kick boxer and his hands were wrapped in a similar fashion, leaving only his claws exposed. Rage was walking at a brisk pace through the old complex, making his way to the ground level. A familiar scent wafted through the air and he stopped in his tracks, sniffing the air to be sure. One of the benefits to his condition were the keen senses and abilities of his animal. The scent was unmistakable. Human. The temperature around the White Tiger dropped dangerously below freezing, ice and frost spread across the floor and walls around him as his anger spiked. Like a coiled spring he shot down the stairs in quick bounds, leaping over the railing and dropping the last flight. He landed in a roll and immediately got to his feet and sprinted out of the building, following the scent. With cat like grace and agility Rage vaulted over abandoned cars and kiosks as if they were no obstacle at all.

The human scent was close to the perimeter fence that separated their apocalyptic hell from the human world. Judging by the potency of their scent there was at least a small group of them and they reeked of hormones. Teenagers. Rage snorted and slowed his free running dash into a casual sprint. Damn kids.. despite his namesake and his tenacity for killing humans, Rage killed hunters. People who meant to kill him and their other mistakes, not kids. He would not kill them but he would scare the everliving hell out of them so they would never come back. A change in the scent confused him momentarily. It was not as strong.. there were less of them now. Had some of them suddenly acquired intelligence and fled? The White Tiger huffed. His jacket was soaked but underneath the layer of white fur that covered his body was dry. His run ended at the corner of a crumbling pizzeria where he could get a good look at the humans without being spotted yet. As it turned out his sense of smell was correct. Human teenagers. One to be specific. And a female no less.

Now.. what would posses a lone human female teenager to wander into this hell by herself? He couldn't imagine anything other than a thrill junky. She was about to get a thrill alright, he thought as he stuck to the shadow of the building. The girl was about a hundred yards away, close enough to feel the temperature drop as he willed it so. She -and any others within that radius- would feel the air getting chillier as their breath would become visible. Rage was about to make his appearance when another Hybrid swooped down from the sky and landed in front of the girl. Quickly he stopped himself and remained hidden, observing like the predator he'd become.

Natasha glared at the girl as she fainted before her. Stupid girl. she thought as she lifted her up. Another one of those curious kids. She saw Devon approach and said, "A human decided to go exploring in the city and saw us. She got so scared she fainted..." Natasha frowned at the girl and continued. "What should we do with her-" she stopped and shivered. The rain stung from all sides, and frost formed on the sidewalk. "Why'd it get so cold?" she said. She turned around, her eyes forming repitile-like slits, darting around. She blipped over the pizzaria where Rage was hiding and shook it off.

Sonja appeared behind Devon. She had followed him to Natasha and Keaira. Frost...there was a test subject with frost...but who... "Maybe it's another Hybrid?" she said hopelessly. She shivered and rubbed her arms.

Vex came around the corner and saw the spectacle. Frost forming along the ground nd a limp girl held in the hands of a winged one. Raising his rifle he shouted "Drop the girl dirtbags or ill open fire!" He hugged the corner for protection keeping the creatures in front of him and the wall to his back aiming down his red dot. "Look you guys have wings and claws but this rifle fires rather large rounds so I don't know if youll get up from it. I recommend that you drop the girl ill take her back over the fence and we can all get on with our lives any objections?" he yelled his finger resting upon the trigger ready to fire. Gritting his teeth he said "I know about your gifts and id recommend turning the AC off if I were you".

Hanna woke up with a start, head spinning and slightly groggy. She looked around. She was being held by a winged girl and another winged girl was standing nearby, looking quite confused. There was also a couple other people standing nearby. One with red eyes, and a girl with brown hair behind him. It was freezing and through the rain she could see someone pointing a gun. Seemingly right at her. She screamed a frantic scream and dropped out of the girl's arms. She was pretty sure that people with wings can NOT be the bad guys, angels have wings, not demons. But the one pointing a freaking GUN at her, she suspected to be the bad one. She backed behind the winged ones, and prayed that he didn't pull the trigger.
Devon reacted quickly, and used his DNA to leap quickly and strongly, shoving his hand over the barrel of the gun, not caring if he was injured. "BACK THE HELL UP" He demanded, his red eyes locking with the man's sunglasses, a flaming texture whirling through his irises.

The man jumped at him grabbing the barrel of his gun yelling "BACK THE HELL UP!". Drawing his subcompact with his forward hand he put it to the mans head before he could move. Smiling Vex retorted "I think that given the current situation you should be the one backing the hell up". He looked and the girl was cowering behind the winged one. Dammit must have misread the situation this is what I get for trying to do some good. he thought as he surveyed his situation. he clicked his tongue and looked the guy whose head his gun was to in the eyes. "Look man I don't have no stakes here other than some shit pay and food that aint worth dying for I do however have objections to leaving a girl here. So like I said ill tell you what back off and ill take the girl back safely to the city with me where she can go back to her parents or make your next move and either you or both of us die here." Vex said in a very calm controlled voice.

Devon looked at the man, a seemingly scared look on his face. Then it quickly shifted to a sarcastic smile, and three red whips moved quicker than the man's finger could, one of them grabbing the gun at a super quick spped and flinging it into the air. Devon hoped that one of the winged girls would catch it so the man wouldn't have it. The other two constructed into red blades, one a rapier and one a katana. they dropped into his hands, and a large self inflicted wound on his left hand scabbed over almost instantly. He lunged forward and managed to pierce the man's hand before he could react.
Hanna gasped as the boy leapt forward and was instantly targeted. She saw his hands behind his back, and in one of them he slipped a pocket knife out of his sleeve and sliced a single gash in his left hand. Horrified, she watched as his blood absolutely whipped itself out of his body, smashing the gun into the air, and transforming into two blades, one of which quickly pierced the man's hand. Tears formed in her eyes. This boy was no angel.

Devon did not avoid the spray, however he used his increased jumpspeed to propel himself int the air and make the spray miss any vital parts. As his rage increased, flames emerged from the bullet holes, turning the rain around him to steam. The blood dripping all over the man's arm ignited as well, and it consumed his right hand, burning it not beyond repair, but burning it enough to hurt like hell. The flame would spread fast, however it was put out by the rain as it didn't have the same emotion as Devon's blood. The man's hand was still burned, and it would hurt like hell. The blood pumping out of Devon's system forced the bullets out and then cauterized his wounds, but didnt burn him. The flame disconnected from him and shot at the ground in front of the man, causing a wide explosion, covering everyone in warm blood, and sending both Devon and the man flying backwards. Devon hid for now, hoping the others could finish the rest. He was too low on blood to fight, he would be out for a few minutes. He wasn't fighting for the girl, he just felt like the guy was a jackass.
Hanna screamed as an explosion made her fall. She looked down at her clothes, and they were covered in blood. She began to scream, clambering against the rubble behind her. She looked around to see the condition of everyone else.

He was blasted off his feet and onto the ground his hand burned. Grabbing a grenade off his vest which happened to be a flash bang he threw it into the middle of the street his shades saving him from the effect. Rushing forward he grabbed the girls hand and ran her blindly down the streets trying to make it back to the fence. As he did this his free hand the unburned one grabbed the blade of his knife seeing as how he had left his guns behind. As he ran Vex said to the girl " We have to get the hell out of here it isn't safe if we keep going straight it will make it to the city. If any of them follow us and we cant get away keep going and ill hold them off at least ill hold them off as long as I can.". Well this is just turning out to be one hell of a day he thought.

Hanna was in shock. She couldn't really hear what the man was saying, her ears were ringing. When the flash cleared, she was over the fence and the man was beside her. She tore away from him and sprinted into the storm into the city, where he couldn't see her through the rain. She made it to a small bridge, looked blankly at the grey sky, and then down at her rain drenched and bloody clothes. She looked forward and saw a stranger with an umbrella looking at her with concern. Then she burst into tears, and the rest of the storm she spent in the strangers house, wearing his daughter's dry clothes. She didn't answer any of his questions, and he wanted to drive her to the hospital, but the roads were treacherous from the storm, and since she wasn't gravely injured, he decided to take her in when the storm cleared, which wasn't due to end for a while.
Devon fell asleep behind the rubble, the rest needed to replenish his blood and energy.
