Morgan did nothing but at her request, bending over to pick up those bags that she pointed at. "Of course, Guardian." Bags hung underneath his eyes, and he walked with a limp and a arch in his back. The pain from last night had quieted it's savage grip over him, and subsided to nothing more than the feeling of being stabbed in his gut. He groaned occasionally, but he kept his words to himself, seeing that his savior hadn't exactly been speaking much whatsoever. Oh, how he would love to have a horse, but animals tended to see the demon that lay rested in the bottom of his soul, so he was forced to walk where ever he desired to go. The blonde one asked him to close his robes, which he did, and plopped his hood over his head. Sickening. The thought alone of being hated for the rest of his cursed, eternal life for something that was not of his own choice made him infuriated. He spat and shook his head as the little hamlet entered their view, barely visible through the thick mass of trees.
As they entered the village, he skulked behind the knightly one ahead of him. The villagers that were scattered about gathered, seemingly in awe of the Bringer of Light in front of their ignorant eyes. Morgan wasn't really something to look at. Covered in a centuries old robe, littered with holes, burn marks, and cuts from all of the myriad "encounters" that he had succeeded in winning. He looked pale, sickly, and not to mention most humans didn't even want to be near him. The sudden massing of people made him nervous, and he lurked off in search of a shadowy place for him to hide his presence.
There was one such place right next to them, and he took his normal position; sitting against the scorched stone wall, with his knees up to his chest and his head buried in them. He began to think to himself. "Oh, what I would do for someone to smile at me...ask me how my day is going, I would just lie and tell them that all was well, just to see then nod and walk away. Not out of fear, but of acceptance...." Feeling alone was something that he was much too accustomed to, but irregardless of that, he still wanted to just talk to someone. He had never been able to do that.
One of the woman began to talk, after the Guardian recited the general greeting of his respective order. "Oh, but we were here." Morgan said, standing up and popping down his hood, revealing his tapered ears; the trademark of his race. "We are the only reason that you have a village to live in, and a life left to enjoy." He said, clearly not in the mood for the womans' inevitable berating. "Now, let me introduce myself. I am Morgan Medraut, the, er, uh......charge of this here Guardian. Pleased to make your acquaintance." This was very not like Morgan, but nonetheless he felt that somehow he had to show his new companion that he is capable of socialization.
