It relies on anyone willing to go down there and maintain and monitor it all. But Sven's gone, most of the other scientists are off in different places, and Vex doesn't get out much. Says he isn't needed anywhere else.

It's kind of a sad truth though. He has no family to see, no childhhod friends around, and he already gets to see everyone he does know anyways. Plus, science is his passion.

Whaaat? I talk to him daily. A lot of us do. Oh, and added bonus, I don't think he feels safe coming up out of the labs. Most of the scientists in the group are actually excellent fighters, but... Well...

He does. But it still isn't safe. Like, Sven's the only one I know that's defeated people as strong as someone like Ridge with nothing but technology.
