Yeah, they got really lazy and neglectful at some point and Existence started deteriorating again until the Tier System took over and replaced the Nobles with something slightly more democratic—where positions of power were given to anyone who gained enough power and enough sense of responsibility to handle an entire facet of the multiverse.
