Weapon Magic is a form of Semantic-Type magic, so it can be flexible in that regard. It really does have to be a weapon though—I used this charm as an example in order to not freak out anyone in the shop. It transforms into a magic staff if you feed it some mana.

If I have to define it, I'd say a tool used offensively in order to cause direct damage to a person or thing. But the easiest way to think about it is "If I have to ask 'is this a weapon,' it's not a weapon." Or at least, I won't be able to summon it.

Yeah, so I won't be able to shield bash you or anything, as much fun as that would be. And while we can recreate really strong magic weapons, like legendary swords, our copies aren't really that good since we don't actually own any.

We have the ability to use either, but we definitely have our preferences. You hit it pretty much on the head—he likes to go at a distance, while I like close-up fighting.
