*I let out a low groan as I feel a soft breeze waft across my face. Carefully shifting into a sitting position, I gaze about at my surroundings in confusion for a bit, before realizing that I am sitting in a large grassy field*

Not exactly where I wanted to end up-

*I get to my feet*

-but Earth is certainly better than Caelestis. Least I don't have to waste my time dealing with a certain idiotic fool here. For the time being anyway...

*I spin in place, examining the area in more detail*

Hmm. This place feels a little bit different than I remember. For one thing, it was summer when I last visited Earth, but judging from the temperature here, it feels closer to spring. Strange. Perhaps that rift I opened took me farther than I had originally planned...

No. But maybe you know more humans that aren’t so emotional. The crowd the group attracts tend to have a lot of people in the emotions-are-for-chumps camp.

They get in the way sometimes. Certainly makes pain hurt worse, but it also makes comfort more joyful as well. I don’t know how some people live without hardly ever deviating too far from an apathetic state.

Offt, no way. I wish I was never sad. But, maybe it’s... Necessary to be unhappy sometimes. At least a little. Not in as heavy of doses as I tend to take it.

Right?! Instead, it’s a long, arduous process, with no insteuctions, estimated time to complete, or even a guarantee for completion. It’s kinda like my trip through here; I’m just along for the ride. Only this is way cooler and more fun.

Yep. Part of why I’m better off than when I first started on this journey. Friends here, a friend elsewhere, and a therapist to vent to freely and get advice from... I’d be lying if I said I wanted it the whole time, but it’s one of the best things Isaac ever forced me to do.
