<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Well, the elephant in the room... the upcoming election.
And how you are or aren't going to run?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Well, the elephant in the room... the upcoming election.
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
And how you are or aren't going to run?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
...I'm not running. The Akamura family has ran for generations... its time we get some fresh blood in the chief seat. With that being said... you and I both have two nominations, being the president and vice. The only stipulation is our nominations can't go toward ourselves... I've given my first nomination already. For my final...
*hands you a golden envelope with the Akamura crest*
... I give it to you.
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
You're asking me to take your job?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
*chuckles*
Its more than just that, its a duty to some, but overall .. a deep responsibility. One I know you are more than capable of handling. Hell, you've practically been doing it already.
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
Meaning someone else would have to chair the Council in my place.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
That would fall to the runner-up to the position, assuming you achieved the seat.
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
Exactly. A bird in the hand, as they say.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Indeed. Well, if the next in line doesn't fit your fancy, you always have the ability to hold an election for the empty seat. Fancy perk of being the president of the EDB. Never had to use it myself, you were always the one I'd choose time and time again. You and a very select few others have the future and best interests of the EDB in mind.
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
Such as?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Well, to reveal one of those names could be considered sabotaging the election, but folks like Coheed, Joy, our agriculture lead Kyo. Did you know that last week she secured the aid of 5,000 freight ships to aid a post-war outer rim planet recieve food and clean water? She was able to do in 1 week what wouldve took the average Aid Response Team nearly 2 weeks. Incredible work.
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
That doesn't necessarily translate to skill in this office.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
I know that, but her work ethic is impeccable. Given she could handle the paperwork and press, amongst other important things, she could be a great ally.
* walks in, and sits down*
Tell me, who would you trust to take your spot?
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
*Crosses my arms*
I don't think there's anybody I'd trust for that.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Oh?
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
It's not some easy thing to do. There's a lot to it.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Of course, there is. But you can't expect someone, even a career polotician, to be great at the job right out of the gate. There's so many layers of complexity between their job and the Vice President that it'd be almost criminal to compare the two and expect immediate excellence. The only reason that I have as much faith in you doing my 'job' is that I've seen you handle the paperwork and the press with a flair, always one step ahead of them. But, yet again, that is but one, small aspect of my position. I'm not on vacation every time I dissapear. Youd be able to locate me if so. I'm dealing with threats that can eliminate the entirety of the EDB singlehandedly with minimal effort on a daily basis.. I do it for you. I do it for our friends in the Council. I do it for the free peoples of the Existential Democratic Bureau.
It's my duty. My question is, do you think that right now, this very instance, that you could handle a threat of that magnitude?
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
There's no chance. I'm a politician, not a soldier.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Yet somehow, by some means, I think you're a perfect fit for the position. Why do you think that is?
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
I don't know. If you expect me to participate in combat, you're crazy.
