Can't watch it right now, but please tell me he's not arguing against NN.

<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>

No.

And this char looks like a less-grand version of Shokuhou.

I literally had to look up who that was because you chose the wrong name. She's fucking Misaki.

No this matters. Misaki is her given name. She is Misaka. Mimi is Mikoto. Though in her case Misaka is acceptable as well.

Mhm. But the facts around NN are infuriating.

Because people don't understand tech. I heard this one guy on the radio saying shopping malls were now using "wifi and Bluetooth on your phone to track it" and then later that "You can come to our website to get more information. Don't worry; we don't track you like other websites—we don't store cookies."
First of all, if your website has any sort of login system that can remember you, you do store cookies.

Woooooooww.
Though to be fair, DOES their site use cookies? Maybe they don't have a login system or anything else.

I don't even know what their site is, but you'll be hard pressed to find any site without cookies these days. Not that they'll do anything malicious.

Fair point, but maybe they really didn't use cookies. Still kind of insane.

Perhaps not, but it's even worse that they use that as a selling point. Everything they said was wrong and sad.

Then you're a pussy and should not be allowed any privacy. This is something that pisses me off more than anything else.

I don't particularly care. As an advocate for the free exchange of all information, I'd rather there be absolutely no privacy than people being in danger. In a perfect world, privacy wouldn't be needed because nobody would hurt you over information. In our real world, however, safety is what drives privacy entirely. Other than that, everything open source, free to understand by any willing to look into it. The internet exists because freedom is equal to the open exchange of information, and while not everything is on it, one can become an expert in most subjects by using it. If you want privacy, there's little reason other than safety itself because you fear others judging you, using it against you, or stealing it from you. Safety. If safety is not the concern, there is no reason for privacy because information is meant to be free.

Privacy is an integral part of freedom. If you can't have privacy then you aren't free. There is information that shouldn't be open-source. My innermost thoughts should not be available to anyone who wants to know them. You can go have your no privacy and absolute safety and I'll go have my absolute privacy and no safety and I'll be the one with the life actually worth living. We're ending this conversation.

Except I'm not arguing no privacy and absolute safety. I'm arguing that your privacy freedom equality doesn't exist.
