It would. What's hard about mobile is that the market is oversaturated, but I'll make it for you.

Not for me. Please, for the love of everything, don't do it only because I suggested it. Do what we as a group like the most.

It's not a big deal. If I can do something you would think is cool, why not? I can make more than one game, too.

It's not out of the realm of possibility to maybe make some money off of mobile MR game, either. If it's fun enough, then people will enjoy it even without the extreme level of background we have with the world. I'd certaibly share it with friends, since everyone has a phone these days.

We wouldn't be able to make any money off of it unless all the assets were original. Which means we'd need all the art to be either free use or made by us. Unless blitz, as the best artist among us, is willing to do the art for every included character, we'd have to make it free because we'd be using copyrighted images. Music would be easier because there's a lot of non-copyrighted music out there, but...
It'd also probably have to be single player only since, unless apple or android or both have some sort of system where app makers can use their servers, we'd have to put up money for a server to run it on for multiplayer.
I'm assuming the game you're talking about is one of those "battle card games" where the characters are cards that can level up and you battle them against generic enemies? Otherwise I'd have to look into the game.

The art comments are extremely accurate. It's easy to get away with virtually anything copyrighted except for images. You would probably also have to buy server-time, unless LAN can be made functional, which is unlikely.

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe it would be within the realm of legality to make the money off in-app purchases (as much as it pains me to say that) and not for purchase of the game itself, since that knvolves buying products within the game? Can't explain my thought process on that very well.

It can start as single player and, if enough money is made on the game, that money can be invested into servers.

It is a battle card game, which is part of what would make it simple for David. It's got unique features to it though that makes the "generic enemies" thing only really true for when you're grinding.

We can use anything to make money, but we can't use other peoples' art, unless it's free.

So in-app purchases?

If you say so. Doesn't make me feel any more comfortable doing it, though.

I don't understand. That would be legal, yes.

But it was bound to happen because that's just a by-product of asking someone to do something.

I'm just saying that instead of getting an original artist, just use the art we can find, make the game free, then include a way to buy, with real money, one or more forms of in-game currency. That kind of gets around the whole copyright for images stuff unless I'm just completely wrong. I haven't looked into that.

I'm fine asking people for things, I just don't like asking for too much. I'm like that with everyone. I have a personal linit on how much I ask others for before I feel bad and can't help it.

It's fine to use public domain images and make money off of them; the policy applies whether we make money or not.

I'm the same way; it's fine, though.

Can't you always simply go and ask permission, too?

That wouldn't be terribly difficult. I imagine a lot of people would be cool with their art getting used somewhere, and it would even give the artists motivation to try and convince people they know to try the game.

Sure. And for thing s we don't need permission to use, google "Creative Commons anime characters." You'll find stuff.

Or we could just use the "official" ones and not put it on any store, just give it to sven and anyone else who wants it.
