This one is super rich, which I guess contradicts the definition of “concrete jungle”. The jungle and the city are enmeshed.

Sorry about that. How can I pray for you?

Why are you awake.
I recently started playing State of Decay 2 and I recently lost my favorite character because his stupid AI didn’t want to move him out of a cloud of toxic gas, so I sat there and watched him suffocate to death.

Should I laugh or empathize?

A little of both. I had completed one playthrough with him as my community leader and got a finish with the Trader route, and he was crazy good in combat, so I decided to bring him over as one of the three characters the game lets you transfer to a new playthrough. I ran over a thing called a Bloater in my car as I pulled out onto the main road, which filled the car with the gas. I jumped out with the character I was playinng as and got to safety, but he got out and stood right outside the car, still in range of the gas. And he just stood there. Funny in hindsight I guess, but I’m still salty about it.

Can you not reset to your last save?

It’s one of those games that’s constantly saving your progress as you go. Everything you do and everything that happens is pretty much permanent.

You kids and your newfangled autosaves. In the games of my day, you can play the same thing over and over until you get it right.

The game is a zombie game (I know how much you love those), but it’s not the standard shoot-em-up and look cool while doing it kind of zombie game. It’s primarily about community-based survival, and people dying is supposed to be part of the experience. It wouldn’t be an authentic experience if you could just retry until everyone lives every time.
