“Mom?!” A voice called out into the distance. “MOM!!!!” A blue haired sixteen year old girl ran through burning flames. A large sword on her back. “MOM!!!!!” Another screamed left her, desperate for a response but received nothing. The war on the planet turned into a massacre. Her mother had gone into hiding with the other older women and much to her father’s dislike; she joined the battle as well.

The planet was full of kind hearted people who were pushed into a war that they didn’t want by an invading alien group. Torture and massive destruction happened before the Metra race started to fight back, than the true power of the race came out and they prove themselves to be valiant warriors. The war had spanned on for three years before a large explosion took out most of the planet. People were in hiding, somehow in some way; Nikki survived and had been wondering around the planet looking for her family. Her father was dead, she had to watch him die; like a warrior, he went down fighting and she couldn’t be more proud of him. Since then she took up his sword and it hadn’t left her back except to kill some of the other aliens that had invaded and got in her way of tracking down her mom.

A few times, walking through the planet’s destruction, she shot off a flame with an alert looking for help, there is no way that she was the only one who survived. There had to have been others right? Like her mom and her mom’s friends that all went into hiding, the children who were supposed to be in hiding. Her friends and classmates who had chosen to hide from the war instead of try to win it. No one was emerging and she only had a few flares left she could use.

The travels of the wounded and tired warrior took her to her home town which was still up in flames. She rose the gun and shot off another flare not paying attention to wear she was aiming and didn’t realize it bounced off of something high in the sky and exploded under it. She was too busy running into the town screaming at the top of her lungs. “MOM?! MOM!!!!!” Her voice echoed over the blazing fires until she ran towards the middle of the town square where the large water fountain sat and was the secret entrance to the safe house that everyone should have been hiding in. Her arrival to the fountain was a horrible sight. Bodies of her friends and her mom’s friends were scattered all over the ground and in the fountain which was pouring red… blood. The worst as at the top of the fountain; the sight of her mother’s small body strung up by her intestines, her deep brown eyes, matching her daughters were hide but her mouth was closed, as if accepting her own death but since she was the wife of the leader of the civilization the aliens were fighting, she had to be made an example of.

Horror filled Nikki’s brown eyes and as fell to her knees in front of the fountain of bodies and the hanging corpse of her beloved mother. At first the girl was silent in her black t-shirt and dark blue jeans and black light weight boots, than she leaned her head back, staring up at the starry sky and let out a scream of pain, throwing her hands out to each side, she threw well over two hundred pounds of pressure out of her hands and destroyed the standing structures around her. Nothing compared to the pain she felt that after she screamed she felt forward, hands on the ground crying uncontrollably.

An older version of the blue haired girl in the dream flung up from the cot she had rented with her last winnings of catching her bait. Her face and chest dripping in sweat; she placed her right hand on her forehead as she attempted to catch her breath. The dream was getting more detailed, more intense and she couldn’t get passed it. A long sight left the blue haired girl as she pulled off the covers and allowed her tan feet to touch the cold floor. Slowly, Nikki stood up and pulled her clothes on her shoulders and pants onto her waste. Once the boots were on her feet, she slid her gun into the hustler and her pocket knives and hidden blades into place of easy reach. Sadness filled her as she picked up her final item before her backpack. The sword, the sword of her father; one of the two things she had left of her parents’ belongings. The sword of her father and the necklace of her mother, which is around her neck; a sigh left her as she slung it over her shoulder and tightened the strap around her shoulder. Throwing her bag over her shoulder, she left the room she had rented and decided she need to find new leads for a new bounty.

Today, the deep brown eyed woman was on the Hetachi planet, a planet full of weird looking aliens with smooched faced and tentacles for hands. Making her way down the stairs, she paid the innkeeper and left. Down the street was a short walk to a nearby pub. A long sigh left her as she pushed the door open and walked inside; the place was nearly empty since it was about ten o’clock in the morning but here, any time is a good time to drink. Falling into one of the chairs at the bar she pushed the bag she was carrying against the ground under her feet. But she was smart; she hooked her foot through the shoulder strap to keep the bag from wondering off. The bartender took her order and slide her a beer, which she took a long drink of; she needed to get that dream out of her mind, some food in her stomach then off to find another job. Just a typical day for her bounty hunting ways.

"Honey? Look, I'm sorry about our fight last night...Can I come in...? What the.... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WITH MY WIFE?!"

"Wha-- This isn't my house? I could have sworn this wa-- Oh my god, I'm so sorry!"

"I'M GOING TO RIP YOUR THROAT OUT!"

Loud crashes and shouts continued inside the local Hetachi planet, and it didn't take long for a man in Ravager uniform to burst out the window thanks to the jets on the sides of his boots. They didn't carry him long as he crashed on to the ground. He stood up, his ravager leather jacket, black pants and boots, and blue undershirt covered in dirt now. "you have an amazing wife! A real keeper!" The man called out. His face was covered by a metallic face mask with circular red eye pieces. He got angry shouts from both the man and woman he slept with... He wasn't a fan of the Hetachi. He had a few octopus markings on his body thanks to that.. interesting night.

"Blech... The things you make me do, Yondu..." He muttered, pulling out the glowing gold trinket from his pocket, and putting it in to his satchel. He looked around, seeing not many people were up to see the thing that happened... hopefully he could get out of here and back to his ship before the lovely husband and wife find out what has been missing... Oh hey! a bar!.... one drink couldn't hurt... he deserved it after what just happened.

He opened the door to the bar, his helmet still on. He got glances from all sorts of people... some noticing the insignia on his jacket and looked away. Others saw the same thing and gave a glare... Others just thought he was another lonely traveler. he made his way to the bar table. He sat down, and pressed a button on his ear, the metal helmet dissolving to show the face of Peter Quill. he took another glance around, and did a double take when he saw the tan blue haired woman just a seat down from him. "I'll have what she's got." He said to the bartender, pointing to the girl. "And put her drink on my tab." he glanced over at her, giving a smile. Oh yeah, she was much more attractive than the Hetachi.

Nikki had been through a lot in her young life. The death of her family, her people and her respective planet; it does a lot to a person. For a long time, Nikki refused to speak and would turn to violence because of the comments some people would make about her hair. You’d think these people had never seen a Metra before; then again her people didn’t get out much and when they did it was to fight. They didn’t invade planets but they did protect their own with fierce fights and deadly wins, it just… wasn’t enough in the end.

Her chocolate colored eyes stared down at the bar top. She needed money and she needed it soon. She barely had enough to pay for her beer but she needed something. Maybe it wasn’t the best choice. A small sigh left her full lips as she adjusted her jacket on her shoulders before spinning the glass in her hand. What was she going to do?! Some of the looks of the bar people suggested alternate routes of getting money but she just snarled at them to keep them away; not that she hadn’t considered it as an option but have you ever seen a Hetachi? The tentacles and were smooched faces aren’t exactly what she would define as ‘attractive’. To each their own, and this was her own is a big ‘no’.

The mood of the room seemed to instantly change as the door to the bar opened and shut. It was surprising how strange the people reacted to the new person who walked in; some seemed to ignore the person as if they didn’t want the person to exist and others seemed to get a heated fire that radiated hatred from the other side of the room. Nikki learned from her time of being a loner that she should wait and feel out the room and how people felt about someone else before making a judgment. Sure everyone had their own stories of why they did or didn’t like someone but each story held some truth. Plus it was probably another Hetachi.

As someone spoke in her general direction, her chocolate gaze flicked to the newest arrival the bar. Maybe that’s how they generally greet people who weren’t Hetachi because he looked like he could be human, or something close to human. When he looked over at her and gave her a smile she returned one with a grateful nod as the corners of her full lips curled up into a small smile, a rarity for her but he deserved it. Great she could get something to eat. “Since he’s paying for my drink, can I get some potato fingers?” The bartender nodded as she took a drink of her beer and he returned rather quickly with a large container of French fries with salt, cheese, bacon bits, and chives with dipping sauce of ketchup and BBQ sauce. Picking up a fry, she glanced over to the man who bought her the drink. There was a seat between the two of them, so what did she do? She pushed the potato fingers basket to occupy the space between them as she dipped the one she had into the ketchup. “Help yourself.” She said nicely, though her tone wasn’t sweet and flirtatious, he has yet to give her a reason to be rude so why not play nice?

Peter Quill gave a silent laugh as she ordered herself some food. Great. More money down the drain. He watched as the food was brought to her, looking back at her and the order of fries. They did smell pretty good... and he'd like to get the tentacle taste out of his mouth... She offered some of her fries to him, and gave a smile. "I better get some of that. I did pay for them after all." he said jokingly, scooting to the next bar chair next to the attractive blue haired woman. He took a fry from the basket, and looked over at her again. "Peter Quill. But most people call me Star-Lord." He said casually, as if it were supposed to bring awe to her face... But sadly in reality, most people knew him only as Peter Quill, and even then he wasn't much known to the citizens of the galaxy. Nova Corps had a whole file on him though... which made him feel a bit badass.

"What's a beautiful, non tentacle faced woman like you doing in a planet like this?" Peter asked, taking a quick glance at her. Her body was nice, but he was more interested in the way she was being a bit protective of that bag at her feet... He had a feeling he wasn't going to get a peek in that bag any time soon.... Unless he used a bit of his famous Quill charm... or if he kept buying her more and more drinks. Whichever one happened first.

When he said that he was going to pay for the potato fingers, her head jerked back and surprise flew across her face. That wasn’t something she was expecting. The smile crept a little bigger on her full lips, maybe he was just being nice; but she could use an act of kindness right now. When he introduced himself she gave him a small bit of confusion, did he really say what she thought he said. How weird. Huh, she’ll have to ask about that in a bit. “I’m Nikki, Nikki Ivy.” She said with a smile as she picked up another potato finger and dipped it into the ketchup. A small laugh left her when he asked what she was doing on the planet.

Cheeks turning a small shade of pink because of his flattering; a shrug lifted her small shoulders as she popped the potato finger in her mouth, chewing and swallowing before answering his question. “Looking to make some money that doesn’t involve,” She gestured towards a couple of the men in the corner who seemed to be ogling her. “that. Getting off the planet would be nice too.” A small shrug lifted her shoulders once again before picking up another potato finger and dipping it into the ketchup. “So, why do you call yourself the Stair-Lord? That’s an interesting name.” She stressed the word interesting, giving off the impression that it was not just interesting but weird as well. Why would someone call themselves a stair-lord?

Peter nodded at her response of what she was doing here. They were all out for money, weren't they? "I should have known. Not many people come here for vacation." He said quietly, to not offend the locals. "Believe me, I gave that little money making thing a few days ago, they pay well, but they need some practice." Quill said jokingly, picking up another fry. When asked why they called him "Stair"-Lord, he leaned back a bit. honestly it was a tough question to answer truthfully. he hadn't told a single person where the name "Star-Lord" came from.... And he didn't plan on it.

"Stair Lo--? No no no, Miss Ivy. Star-Lord. People call me Star-Lord... Where I come from, Star-Lord is a rank held only by the bravest, handsomest, strongest, and honorable warriors. Each gets a specific name... For instance, there is a great warrior where I come from named.. Luke Skywalker. he sets off from his home to defeat a whole empire single handedly." Peter said with a nod, turning his body to her so he could explain easier. Of course this was a lie, but Peter was a natural at convincing others... and it wasn't exactly all a lie.

When he spoke jokily about that specific way of making money, her smile cracked a little more. It felt nice to smile but she didn’t want to lead him down the wrong road. He wasn’t getting any of what she could offer body wise but he seemed somewhat nice so she didn’t want to mislead him to think he’d get some action when the most he would see is her blade to his throat.

There were a lot of things that this man said that took her by surprise. One it was Star-Lord, which was a phrase she had never heard. Two, his definition of what Star-Lord meant; he was insinuating that he was one of the bravest, handsomest, strongest and most honorable warrior from his home planet. Her eyebrow rose slightly at the worded but she didn’t make a comment to question what he said. The third thing that took her by surprise was that he called her Miss Ivy. On her home planet she was known as Lady Ivy or Princess Nikki but even to just be addressed by proper, nice manners were surprising.

When he moved to face her better, she turned as well; nearly involuntarily to match his body language. In her mind she was doing it because she didn’t want to be rude, so far talking to this guy wasn’t a bad thing. And it was nice not to talk to a smooched face alien. But would he take her turning to him as a flirtatious thing or just a common curtsey thing? Guess it depends on his level of arrogance. “Please call me Nikki.” She said as she picked up a couple more potato fingers and popped them into her mouth. Once she swallowed she potato fingers and gave him a small shrug. “This Sky…Walker man seems to hold a rather high standing on your planet. If you are a Star-Lord,” She emphasized the word to make sure she was saying it right this time. “it sounds like you have someone to try to surpass to be the best. A man who still has something to learn; it’s nice not to meet a know-it-all.” Taking a drink of the beer she gestured towards some of the Hetachi men at a table with her head. “Like some people I’ve met.”

She was becoming more at ease talking to him. That was good, Quill... But as you know by your scars, don't get too ahead of yourself. Keep the pace. "Well, Nikki, my man Luke is very well known, and maybe just a bit better than Star-Lord... But there's a ton of them running around. Leah... Anakin... But there's only one Star-Lord, and you are speaking to him." he gave a nod and smile. "I do have things to learn, but I know more than one might think. I know that guy works the night shift and hates coming home to his nagging wife." He said, pointing his thumb at a local. "I know that guy has a smoking problem, which is weird for his species because he doesn't have lungs." He said pointing to another wanderer. He then shifted his gaze back to Nikki. "and right now, I know you have to be some portion of terran to enjoy an earth delicacy like potatoes, and you're willing to use your certain skills to get some money... You and me aren't that much different from what I see." Peter said with a grin, leaning a bit forward.

"Quill!" A voice shouted through the open door. Peter's face stood frozen, looking at Nikki, then he sighed and bowed his head. "Shit..." He got up, turning to the doors and opening his arms. "Bill! Zapth!" he said with a smile, glaring at the two. "What are you guys doing here? Yondu sent me here on important busine--"

"Yondu did say you had to collect it, Quill... but he also said that you might try some funny business once you're alone. So he sent us to check on ya." An orange skinned man said with a horned nose. They both had on the same icon and color of clothes, but they either wore the vest, or shirt. Peter liked the full coat uniform... mostly because he felt badass.

"Well, you can fly back to him and tell him on going to return the item to our supplier... Why are you two looking at me...? Oh come on. Again?" with that they both pulled out their guns, and backed Quill back to the bar. "Heyheyheyhey, I know I've taken some more units than a should, but this time i'll be able to pay Yondu back! what I have? It'll be worth tens of thousands of units! You tell him i'll be back in a couple of days with the money, we go hit a club, buy some cigars, and sing a few songs." He said, patting both of them on the back.

"That sounds like a good plan... but, we could just knock you out, take the money, and give it back ourselves to make sure."

"You two trying to play the bad boys? The loose cannons? That's my job. Now we can have this bar stay in tact and have you walk away nicely... or we can do this the hard way." After a few seconds, Peter rolled his eyes. "Alright. The hard way."

He clicked the button on his ear, his helmet forming on his face as he leaned on the bar, stuck out his legs, and activated the jet boots. The impact of the jets sent the two Ravagers flying.

It was interesting listening to Peter talk. He talked with such a passion for his home planet and it made her long for her own. How she missed Metra! The smell of the planet, the feel of the breeze against her face, the calm feeling of the ocean against her feet on the sands, her mother’s cooking and her father’s laugh. There were so many amazing things on the planet from food to animals to individuals; it was a shame to think she was the only one left…

When he began to name off things about the people in the room, she stole quick glances in the direction of his pointing to try and figure out who he was talking about. But just as quickly as she glanced she was looking forward again. She had been around enough muggers attempting to get her stuff that she learned not to give someone too much of a break, between her paying attention to her stuff and not. Surprise lightly made its way over her face as he mentioned she had some terran in her. Normally people couldn’t point that out, but she was eating potatoes and it didn’t seem forced or uncomfortable for her. Her mom brought potatoes to Metra and helped the people grow it so she didn’t think anything of it. Funny how things are so different on each planet; even more funny is that she didn’t catch that he was leaning closer to her. She was only used to the blatant ‘hey you’re hot let’s going bump uglies’ so to her he was just being nice and complementing her… if she knew what he was actually doing… well it would be hard to know how she would react.

Her brain began to register that he was leaning forward and before she could say something about it, the door to the bar flew open and two people entered yelling his name. Wow today was full of surprises that’s for sure. Her chocolate gaze flicked from him to the men who entered yelling his name, than back to him in time to see his face freeze and hear him say shit as his head dropped. For the first time in a long time, Nikki did her best she could not to laugh. It was funny; he seemed rather caught off guard by their sudden appearance.

As you can imagine, for someone in her boat hearing the discussion of money, much less tens of thousands of units catch her attention as well. As her gaze shot from the two men back to Peter, suddenly he became a lot more interesting than a guy who happened to be buying her drink. Before she could say anything they went flying thanks to the jet boots on his feet. “Are they Star-Lords in training?” She asked as the men crashed against the wall and slid down. Her toned body leaned back against the bar top, the drink casually sitting in her hand as if she was watching a movie at home on the couch. “Because I don’t think they’ll be able to get up there with you.”

“WHAT?!” The orange skinned man said in an angry tone as he rose to his feet, the other guy quickly behind him.

“Basically I’m saying he’s better than you.” She said in such a causal manner while taking a drink of her beer, a single eye open to watch the men. The rose their guns to fire and she raised her hand, slapping the air; only to use her telekinetic abilities to send the guns flying out of their hands with an unexpected amount of force. Shock read all over their face as it happened, not many people see a Metra anymore and if they didn’t know their species, she’d just look like some crazy dark skinned girl who liked to dye her hair blue… who apparently had telekinetic powers. Though most Metras were pale. “Can we please not fight?” She said innocently, as if it was going to make a difference; even if it did she chugged the last of her beer, placed the glass down and cracked her knuckles. If they were going to fight, she was ready but she wasn't going to let Peter Quill out of her sight until she found out where the funds were to be had; she needed the money and if it meant follow him... well there were worse routes.

Peter got up, his mask still over his head as he dusted himself off. He grinned at her question. "No, not Star-Lords in training... just a bunch of friends who are assholes." He said, taking out his own signature guns. Quad barreled pistols that had settings to what element they shot. He didn't plan on killing the guys. They were his "family" after all. As she talked to them though, and took a drink... This was her kind of woman! Then she slapped the guns out of their hands, and he was a bit surprised. A telekinetic? Peter scratched his alien data in his head... and he didn't know much races around that could control stuff with their mind.

"Yeah, guys... we don't want to mess up your face too much... geez... only a mother could tolerate that face..." He said with a shudder.

"At least I have a momma, Quill!"

Ooohhhohohoh.... Its on! With that comment Peter leapt at him using his jet boots as momentum. He swung his fist straight at his jaw. he went out cold, he turned to the other one but was kicked across a table, plates and food falling over. He didn't know if Nikki was already on him, but his answer was confirmed when he saw the second ravager knocked out, and Nikki standing there.

"Well, Nikki. Its been a real pleasure. If you're ever in Xandar, be sure to ask around for Peter Quill..." He gave a slow bow, and with that made his way out of the bar so the local police didn't arrest him. He needed to get back to his ship!!

The 'having a momma' comment stung Nikki as well and she was to her feet at those fighting words. You don't insult family, especially if their family is dead. She was tempted to kill the people, trash like that doesn't belong in the world but if they were his so called 'friends', she needed to be on his good side since he was talking units. He took off on his jet boots and Nikki stayed back weighing her options about the fight. If he could take it on his own then there was no reason for her to step in. Until he received a kick to the stomach that sent him flying. Okay now it was time.

The blue haired woman leapt off the ground in a dash, jumping up onto a chair than across an empty table before leaping into the air landing directly onto the so-called friend and knocking him to the ground. Cradling his head in one hand, she pulled her free fist back and punched him a few times in the head before he knocked out. Oh fighting was nice. So much anger and aggression let out in a few full fledged punch. Enough to knock a man out cold and enough give Nikki quite a bit of release.

Letting out a relaxed sigh over the unconcious body of the man. Nikki rose to her feet and brushed off her jacket in a casual manner feeling as though she had accomplished something even though it wasn't her battle. Those chocolate colored eyes of hers flicked towards Peter as he began to speak. His bow made her feel a bit uncomfortable. Being a princess on her home planet, she would always get bowed to by the people and the staff. With her planet gone she was just a simple person now so to have gestures like this was a bit odd for her and almost like a flashback.

It shouldn't be too much of a surprise to learn that, even though Nikki was thrown off by his actions, she hurried after him. " Xandar huh?" She repeated as she fell into the rushed step of his. "Is that where the Star-Lords are from?" She wasn't entirely socially stupid but the whole flirting factor was completely missed by her; but she knew that sweet talking something he seemed to take a lot of pride in would be the way to go. "So a big job with a lot of units on the line. Where are we going?" Oh yes, she was stating that she was coming with him. Maybe not the best choice considering that she just knocked out one of his friends but he was the lesser of two evils at this point; the other evil being the police for partaking in a small, short lived bar fight.

Peter was soon met with the girl following right after him. It shouldn't have surprised him. After tr talk of money, and how she needed some... Curse his Quill charm! "No, no Star-Lords. I'm the only one, remember?" He said, glancing back now and again to make sure there wasn't an angry mob. "Xandar is the home to the nova corps, you know... The galactic police. It's also home to a lot of suppliers and people wanting certain objects..." He stopped, and faced her. "We could split this profit. 70-30." He clapped his hands together, her look didn't seem so appreciative... "Okay... 60-40.... 55-45, and that's because I paid for your breakfast." He said with a nod. This was going to be an alright flight. Going to get a lot of money, spending a couple of days on a ship with an attractive woman... Hopefully he could keep most of the money somehow. No he may be the infamous outlaw, but he's a man of his word.

Nikki wasn’t going to let this lead get away from her. She kept pace with him rather closely as they continued down the road. Does he have a ship? If he does than she found a real score! She didn’t have one, if it wasn’t for the Galactic Police, also known as Nova Corps, she wouldn’t have made it off of her home planet before it exploded but she was never taken to the planet for healing. When he started naming off amounts she gave him the standard ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’ look that every woman seems to be born with being able to do. “50-50 and I’ll buy you dinner once we get paid. There’s no way that the beer and potato fingers cost 5 percent of the job!” She said with a nod and extended her hand to him. “Deal?” Loud bangs and shouts echoed behind them from the bar. This friends were waking up.

50-50 didn't sound good to him at all! If it was anyone else he would have probably stood his ground... But he saw what she could do with literally just her mind. He would much rather deal with her prices later. "Deal." He said with a nod, making sure not to shake on it. The shouts were getting louder. Mostly about Quill being some names that weren't "Star-Lord" Peter lead them to the ship bay to reveal the orange and blue ship, the Milano. "Welcome to my slice of paradise." Quill said as the doors opened to reveal the interior. They both climbed in, and Peter raced to the cock pit, starting up the ship quickly.

He could see the two Ravagers coming for him, weapons drawn. They were obviously yelling things at him, but he shrugged, pointing to his ears, and mouthing "i can't hear you!" The ship slowly started to rise, and before long, it flew up in to the sky, and out of the atmosphere. They were safe... for now.

"Welp. Welcome to the Milano." he said, his arms open. It wasn't the cleanest place in the world, but it was cozy in a way. he took off his jacket to reveal a vest and blue shirt. he walked out of the cockpit to his bunk where his childhood items were held. A Troll doll, and Alf sticker, his NASA backpack, and his most cherished possession: his Awesome Mix Vol. 1. he slipped it in to the music player, and just before he was about to press play, a call came on the line of the large screen in the kitchen. It was Yondu. His boss. Great.

He didn’t shake on it! The dick! She was about to retort to him, ready to demand that he shake her hand before the sounds of angry men calling out a mixture of names that weren’t anything in relation to Peter, Quill or Star-Lord, the two unlikely pair hurried through the streets to the ship bay. The look on her face was one of surprise to see such a nice ship awaiting them. Blue eyebrow cocked upwards as she followed him up the ramp in a hurry and she followed him to the cockpit, her bag firmly over her shoulder as they began to rise away from the fist-shaking and gun-firing me on the ground before they shout out into the atmosphere which wasn’t exactly the smoothest ride so Nikki fell into a near-by sit and strapped in for the impact of the takeoff and breaking through the atmosphere.

When he turned to her and stretched out his arms welcoming her to his ship, she looked at him with slightly wide eyes. She had never been in a ship that had such an intense take off and that could easily be read on the expression on her face. Hopefully they wouldn’t need to take off often. The ships the Metras built were a lot smoother with their take offs but they never really mastered the intense gunfire, they typically were used for stealth. So this, this was a little different…

Upon his exit, she sat there, taking in a couple deep breathes to calm herself before unbuckling herself and standing upwards. Walking back to what could best be described as a dining area she let out a small sigh and placed her bag on the table. How many rooms did this thing have? Was she going to have a bed? That would be nice, and kind of nice to have a place to call her own that wasn’t a cot. Nikki was at least kind enough to leave him to his bunk room instead of following him into the room to ask him about what they were going after and where they were going.

Sitting down at the table she placed her bag gently on top of the slightly cluttered table before pulling the sword from her back and placing it with the utmost care onto the table in front of her. Her hand danced softly along the sheath. The last thing she had have of her father’s lay before her and the last thing of her mother’s was a simple gold necklace with a little blue stone in the middle about the size of a nickel. All of her people now gone, and the only one left is forced to collecting bounties and trades in order to get by; what a sad existence. She was ripped out of her thoughts by a sudden ring and the appearance of a face on the screen near her. In her fright she jumped and hit a cup which tumbled into a bowl which threw a spoon and landed on the answer button with a beautiful splatter of purple liquid onto the side of the screen.

“Uh… Quill, you have a phone call…” Nikki called over her shoulder not taking her eyes off of the blue man; she was rather shocked to see someone who was blue. That was slightly new for her.

Yondu on the other end of the screen stared at the girl as she stared at him back. “Your hair is blue girl.” He said in a simple tone only to get a simple retort from her of, “Your skin is blue sir.” Obviously her seeing someone with blue skin and he seeing someone with blue hair seemed to surprise both of them. In Nikki’s mind she couldn’t understand why her having blue hair would be a surprise, and in his mind him having blue skin shouldn’t be a shock. Funny how encounters are huh?

Peter was a man of simple desires. He wanted a lot of money. He wanted to be notorious. He wants to meet a girl who wouldn't mind just coming over for the night... And he wanted to never answer a call from Yondu again. Peter rushed for the screen, listening on their little argument, and although it was pretty humorous, he couldn't let her keep talking to him. "Yondu! Hey man, listen I--"

"No boy, you listen! I saved you from getting eaten when we first met. My boys never tasted Terran before! But I liked you!" He began. Peter rolled his eyes. If he had a unit for every time he heard this story... "yeah yeah yeah, I should be grateful. But seriously? You sent two of the worst men in your crew to get me? I'm not mad... Just a bit insulted." Quill crossed his arms. The blue skinned man glared at him. "I sent 'em 'cause I knew you'd try to rob me from my money!"

"Do you honestly think I'd do that to you, Yondu?" Peter asked, looking offended. After a few seconds of silence he rolled his head. "Look, its not me, its you. sometimes a baby bird needs to fly away from the nest."

"I'm not talkin' about nests, Quill! I'm talking about that major amount of money you are taking from me!"

Peter Quill's hand slowly raised, his index finger out. He looked at it with surprise, then the hand slowly went towards the screen, and while Yondu yelled at him, he ended the call. He let out a sigh, and turned his attention to Nikki, giving her a scolding look. "First rule when on my ship: Don't touch my stuff."

The exchange between the two men was interesting. So Quill likes to steal things from people and keep all the profit. Her chocolate gaze flicked to the man she was with as her eyes narrowed in a disapproving glare. If he thought he was going to cheat her out of her share of the profit he didn’t know what was coming and let’s just say… it would be bad for him and his kneecaps if he tried to double cross her. Her gaze moved back to the blue man on the screen who began to ramble on about how he saved Quill from getting eaten by his men and seeing as though Nikki was half Terran, it probably wouldn’t be the best idea for her to be around his men. Where his men the so called ‘friends’ of Quill’s that tried to beat the crap out of him. Huh, interesting choice of ‘friends’.

Though Quill’s reaction to the story said that he had heard it multiple times; so this was ‘Yondu’s’ fall back story when Quill did something wrong; almost lecturing him like a small child. What an interesting relationship these two must have. Nikki’s gaze turned back to Quill as Yondu began to yell at him about not hanging up; Quill’s comical way of doing it did cause her to smirk slightly before the screen went black and the dining area lost the glow from the screen. Just because what he did was humorous didn’t mean that Nikki forgot the point that was made to her thanks to Yondu, Quill was all for himself and could double cross her. Could, being the key word if he could handle her trying to slice him in half. Maybe she needed to demonstrate her skills whenever they got to their destination so she could instill the idea of ‘DO NOT CROSS HER’ in his head. Actions do speak louder than words.

A blue eyebrow rose in his direction as he gave her the scolding look and told her the first rule of his ship. Her eyes rolled dramatically before she turned the gaze back to him. “What rule is clean up after yourself?” She said in a sarcastic manner, he couldn’t kick her out into the depths of Space for being a smartass but she gestured towards the mess on the table and the plaster of purple goop on the screen. “If you didn’t have a mess, things wouldn’t get accidently turned on.” She wasn’t very playful in her tone but her hint of sarcasm showed that somewhere, deep down inside of her was the joking sarcastic fun-loving princess that used to be on her home planet. But for now… well she wasn’t exactly present.

Rising from the seat she leaned against the table slightly and looked around, “All and all it’s not a bad ship.” She said in a simple matter-of-fact tone. “How many rooms and bathrooms does it have?” It’s funny how a ship is pretty much Terran mobile home. Except in a lot better state than most mobile homes; at least that’s the way her mother described it. She’s never actually been to Earth.

"Its right after 'no woman allowed on the ship' but before 'bedtime is at 9'" Peter said sarcastically, in an offensive tone. Who was she to yell to him about his ship's condition? She didn't even have one! She did start to compliment it though. "I'm glad its up to your standard." Peter said, not meaning it to be offensive to her. He walked next to her, examining the place as she did. "Bathrooms are on the left. First door. They open automatically." He said, pointing in the direction. As she walked off for the rest room, he made his way back to his bed where his cassette player was. He made sure the tape was safe and secure, and then pushed the play button. It took a second to start, but it didnt' take long for the whole ship to be covered in the song "Ain't no Mountain High Enough"

Peter's head bobbed to the music, his body slowly getting in to the rhythm. It wasn't long before he was dancing along, doing a small mix of the running man, stopping and pretending to sing in to something, just whatever felt good. Peter's favorite thing in the world was his music. He was actually a very good dancer... but sadly, not many aliens enjoyed dancing.

He had a pretty lady in his ship, he had a very expensive artifact, and Yondu had no idea where he was... All he had to do was return this object to some nut job called "The Collector" and everything will be smooth sailing.

It had been a long time since Nikki dealt with ‘rules’ so when they did come around, especially when with someone who could eject her into space at any point in time, she figured it would be best to respect said rules. So when he said that no women were allowed on the ship, she pressed her lips together in silence and turned her chocolate brown gaze to the table top and played with her thumbs. She might have overstepped her boundaries and she didn’t feel like stepping on any toes at this moment. When he gave instructions on how to get to the bathrooms, she rose up from the seat and took up her bag and sword before looking over at him. “Well thank you for breaking one of your rules and taking me along.” She said softly with a nod before turning on her heel and walking away.

There were a couple of bathrooms spread throughout the ship and some bedrooms she noticed as she passed. That was nice, at least he wasn’t going to try and make her sleep in his room. Sliding into the nearest bathroom, she used the facilities and was in the processes of washing her hands before she caught the reflection of the shower in the mirror. Her head jerked back in surprise to see a pair of fuzzy pink underwear hanging from the shower bar. Blue eyebrows raising she stared at them for a moment before looking back down and shaking her head quickly, Don’t judge people Nikki, everyone has their ‘quirks’ and this guy wears lady’s underwear. Of course this was her final thought as she dried her hands and left the bathroom.

Walking out, she didn’t quite expect the place to suddenly fill with music. Again, her head jerked back in surprise. This wasn’t the music she was used to on her home planet but her mother always talked about Terran music and how enjoyable it was. Her head slowly began to bob along with the music as she walked back down the hall to rejoin Quill only to find that he wasn’t in the place where she had left him. Okay… Following the direction he might have gone, she poked her head around the corner to find him dancing in his room to the music that was echoing throughout the ship. A small closed mouth smile curled the corners of her full lips as she leaned up against the door frame looking into his room, not wanting to invade his privacy. Her head as bobbing along to the music and her foot began to tap along the floor before she spoke. “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen someone dance, you’re not bad.”

Peter kept dancing. He loved it. It was the only thing he really had connection to Earth.. and his mom. When he heard Nikki's voice, he didn't flinch, he simply moved his body towards her, still not stopping his dance moves. "Yeah, most of you guys don't appreciate dance." He made his way towards her. "I see you bobbing your head. Now just take that head bob, and moved it to your whole body." He said, spreading out his arms, but still dancing to the song. He watched her move along to the music, dancing right beside her. One of the many ways he seemed to lure in a female was his ability to dance, and his star-lord charm.

The song soon changed, and the song turned to Fooled Around and Fell in Love, Peter slowed his tempo, and started to swing to the music, glancing over at Nikki. "Most of these species are known for their war, and violence, and ability to intimidate... But us Terrans were masters of music, being able to channel all these feelings and emotions, and using that as our master weapon for pretty much anything..." Quill said, getting closer to Nikki.
