Name: Fergus Bluerock
Nickname: The Loyal Hound, The Booze Hound
Species: Rock Daeva
Age: 35-ish
Hair Color: Dark red with white stripes here and there.
Hair Style: His hair is spiking to every possible direction, he's wearing dark leather headband, which also acts as a piece of armor, to keep it from getting on his eyes all the time.
Eye Color: Left one brown, right one bright blue.
Skin Color: Well tanned in the sun. Gray as rock in his hands and legs.
Height: 5'9 while hunched, 6'3 if he is standing straight
Body Build: Muscular build, especially from the right arm, still muscular yet more athletic from the rest of his body. His back is very slightly hunched, a side effect from lugging his heavy shield around from such an early age.
Clothing: His normal attire includes dark leather pants with steel plating, steel greaves and -bracers, headband with steel plating around forehead, steel shoulderplate on right shoulder. His left arm is covered with a thick and wide armor plating that connect to his steel bracer.
He has a leather strap around his neck filled with what seem to be prayer beads, but upon closer inspection each bead is actually perfectly round and smooth rock.
For the colder days and/or regions he wears a sabertooth pelt around his torso, when not worn it just kinda hangs around his waist and legs.
Physical Quirks: He looks like a human. Very much like a human. Without really careful inspection, one cannot really tell the difference. His hands and legs would give him out swiftly due to their gray colour and rocky look when exposed. Either way, he's been going around as a human and doesn't see any reasong to change his ways, at least so far he hasn't found one and with all these troubled times going on in the world, he finds it more sensible solution to let them think of him as a human than as a daeva.
His ears are quite sharp and sort of resemble those of a canine, just hairless and well, less animalistic. Aside from the humanlike details on the inside, they could as well be hairless wolfhound ears.
Rest of his face is quite sharply featured too, it's smooth and solid aside from a long scar that goes from his left cheek across his chin and all the way to his neck and shoulder. it's a curious wound that only begs the question, who and how caused it.
His right arm is considerably more muscular than rest of his body, partly because his shoulder is deformed and has grown large bone and muscular structure. Makes it difficult to find fitting shirts and thus he's not wearing any. With his chest exposed he also challenges anyone threatening him or his current Master to aim right at him. There is also a bullseye tattoo on the left side of his chest circled with the sentence "Who dares to kill me?"
His chest and back are filled with scars received from defending his Masters against threats. Some of them look quite fatal, but at least according to his own words they look way worse than they actually are.
The strangest part of his whole body is his heart that does not reside where it would with a normal humanoid being, instead of being on the left side of his chest, it's all the way to the right, thus the rest of his system is also reversed when comparing to normal human for example. It also beats slower than a normal heart and is more difficult to hear due to rock casing around it below his thick skin.
Background, The Loyal Hound: Fergus started his career as a bodyguard at quite young age, first off it had been pretty much a joke between few friends, but from the big kiddo that kicked the ass of local bullies attacking his friends he grew into a teen that kept even strangers safe from attacks and finally by breaking all ties to his former friends and family, into a professional known as The Loyal Hound he is nowadays.
Leaving one's family behind like that could have been difficult, but he was always the black sheep of his family, both of his parents were into local politics, his sister a teacher and there was him, a brutish, disfigured and violent male. It wasn't too obvious that he wasn't in the best terms with his family, he grew annoyed quickly when his sister tried to teach him some advanced things. He grew annoyed when his parents tried to teach him into politics. And then he left. No word for anyone and in the middle of darkest night he left, with nothing but his shield and armor with him, commissioned with his father's money of course, the only think he's grateful to him.
He is well known for making a contract and no matter how much anyone would ever offer him to break it, he only leaves his Master's side when they release him from the servitude, or until they die one way or another. Until then, he'd follow them to the end of the world if he had to.
During his years of protecting people from nobility to poor people, he eventually drifted in the servitude of Lord Vates of the Seraphim Council, he hired him a s a personal guard under a strict rule of hm never showing his true colours. As Fergus had been doing that nearly all his life after leaving his home, this was no problem to him, and thus he served his new Master faithfully. Until....
Background, The Booze Hound: His second nickname comes from being well known for not taking it well if he fails to protect someone, and many taverns and inns have received great income from him, he can literally sit in such place for days and there's even a rumour going that he has emptied local pub's alcohol reserves all by himself within a mere week.
Should a death of his client or "Master" as he addresses them occur in a way he could've prevented it even in theory, he easily, and most likely, succumbs into drinking frenzy. It's nowhere near civilized drinking, and he cares a little what he pours down his throat in that case, as long as it contains alcohol, the more the better.
After a good night of drinking his sorrows and fighting his inner demons over and over again, Fergus is in need ot caffeine. Thus he will find a way to make himself large pot of coffee. Coffee so black and thick that no normal man could bear to drink it even if it wouldn't get stuck in their throats.
Usually a night drinking and a morning, well, drinking coffee, clears Fergus' head enough for him to be able to start his search for new Master again.
Extra: The Loyal Hound nickname came from his differently coloured eyes which is quite common feature within the guard dogs humans tend to utilize in their households.
The Booze Hound nickname comes from the amounts of alcohol he pours into himself when he drinks.
Fergus isn't too bright. He knows how to read and do some basic math, but he's not a strategist, or tactician, not a scientist or a teacher. He's one of those who are better at following orders than giving them, and he's content with that. That doesn't mean that he won't feel dumb every now and then, he does feel so quite often.
Yes, he howls. Yes, he growls. No, you can't put him on a leash. Or at the very least that's not very wise.
He's lugging around heavy , custom made kite shield. This shield of his is thicker than a regular shield you'd see, it's nearly 5 feet long and 3 feet wide and weights 220 pounds, it's been battered over and over again during the years of it's servitude, yet it remains whole, scratched sure, but whole. This shield that Fergus calls the Steel Aegis comes with a built in iron spike about the length of 1½ feet that is released and locked with a flick of finger on the inside, the spike slides out at the left side of the shield, making it both effective shield and a deadly weapon. Fergus carries this heavy beast strapped around his right gauntlet, in a way making it also yet another piece of his armor.
He can fix damage from his body by eating rocks. Literally chewing them into small bits and swallowing. The bigger the damage, the larger amount of rock needed. Also rest, lots and lots of rest, although the scars from the hits still remain. Unfortunately no amount of rocks can bring him back from the dead.
Fergus is constantly haunted by his deceased Masters he failed to protect, they are still there when he sleeps their killers haunting his dreams, to some he's unstable, while to some he is simply humane. Whether it is the first or the second option, this drives him to push his limits to dangerous levels to keep the count from growing any higher.
Via his failures, and learning from them, he has developed an unusual ability to look at his surroundings and imagine every relatively possible way that someone could attack, harm or kill someone else. This tactical vision of his has evolved to a point where he can nearly foresee the future, of course in some cases, the future he sees is not the real one, if real world at all, which in that case confuses him greatly.
