High school for me seemed like it was students trying to one up each other and teachers. Every day I’d see people treating others like garbage all for the sake of making themselves look better. It’s like they were trying to improve their standings, but in the process all they did was hurt it. Some must have thought they were too good for everything they had to do in school, but it’s not like they’d ever do anything about it. :/
Once again, as Kaga so beautifully illustrated and expanded upon (fist bump!), a big part of high school is learning to deal with people. People in the real world always treat others like shit, especially if it helps them get ahead. Ever heard of brown nosers and suck ups? Those exist in the working world, too. Only some of them will deliberately sabotage other people to get ahead. People don't understand or don't care that working as a team is one of the most effective ways for everyone to benefit, because they don't like the idea of potentially losing out to somebody else. Trust me, all of the assholes you see in high school exist in the real world, but by the time you're old enough, you usually know how to handle them.
