Axeka Minoris ran forward on the sidewalk. She was chasing down an thief who had stolen a large amount of precious jewels, and so she was wanting to capture the thief, return the jewels, and send him to jail. She was a police officer, and high up in the chain of command. As she ran, she slowly started catching up to the thief. She grabbed an electromagnetic cuffs that when hitting someone, they automatically tie up said person. She threw the cuffs, and they hit the guy's legs, and he fell. He ran forward to get him, when suddenly a portal appeared infront of her. She reacted quickly and tried to get out of the way, but it sucked her through.

She was flying. No, not flying, floating, through a large colorful tunnel. it was weird, she felt herself being psuehd through it. After a moment, the tunnel turned to complete nothingness, and then she saw a hole, with light. She was pushed through, and ended up at the same spot she was before. She rubbed her head and looked around, the criminal was gone. Things seemed... different. Yes, definately different. Almost everything looked and felt the same, but it was 'off'. The feeling that something wasn't quite the same. She walked about and around and on the sidewalk, trying to figure out what is was. Then it hit her. Everything was different. The cars, all models never seen. The buildings, moved about and around and in different places. The store, and it's brands, never heard of. Food that wasn't the same. She was nervous now, she didn't quite know what had happened. She didn't know what to do, so she ran to the library, hoping to get some answers.

a group of people in redcoat uniforms are all desperately trying to fight off a horde of infecteds with nothing but muskets in a marsh
juton slams his musket into the face of an infected 'its hopeless there is too many!' juton yells out 'reinforcements won't arrive in time!' juton yells out then looks to his right a person is getting mauled by a infected juton aims his musket at the evil creature and fires creature falls down dead but hes too late the person he tried to save is already torn to pieces [thats the fifth casualty today! theres only 3 of us left!] juton thought then noticed then the other 3 members where already dead 'oh crap! joio,aidiakan,barus everyones dead!' juton thought as he walked backwards onto a wall and stared at the horde of infected coming 'come at me you idiots!' he screamed at the infecteds and ran forward with his musket pointing forward right for there heads then all of a sudden a portal appears right in front of juton! 'what the?' juton thinks he feels like he is falling no floating then he hits the ground with a thud then passes out juton opens his eyes and sees that he is lying down in the middle of a sidewalk 'wah? where am i?' juton thinks and looks around everything looks new and different more complex like moving boxes of steel [cars] and giantic houses [skyscrapers] and looked around to see everyone looks different they have white skin and more plain clothes [humans] 'i am not at brotania anymore [the city juton was in before he went into the portal] he sees a person wearing really weird looking clothing [axeka] he waved to the weird human and said 'hey what is this place?' to the weird person he saw her run into a building and he ran after her

Axeka ran into the library, and then heard some guy call out after her. He walked over to him. "I'm Axeka Minoris. I was in the year 2083, when a portal appeared infront of me. It took me and I ended up here." she said, introducing himself.. maybe she wasn't the only person taken to this place. if there were more coming, maybe they'd all be able to work together to escape this place.

A group of scientists and I sat in a cramped van, half of them asleep. It was fairly dark, but I was reading a Cory Doctorow book under the light of the interface on my neck (I guess that thing comes in handy sometimes), a headphone in my ear playing a remix of some Japanese song. I was several chapters in and pretty much absorbed before the van came to a stop in a dimly lit parking lot and the driver called for everyone to get out.

Sleepy passengers shuffled past me as I put the book and my iPod away, not in much of a rush. When I did exit the van, all the scientists had gone inside with their belongings to check into the hotel, take a bathroom break, and maybe grab a snack. Apparently they didn't care about my well-being.

Outside of the vehicle, I began picking up a local radio station playing some kind of alternative rock music. Not my favorite, but there was some good stuff. I went around to the back, swung the doors open, and pulled out my backpack, slinging it over my shoulder. Just the essentials in here, books, drawing supplies, tools, and snacks, no namby-pamby clothes or anything. As I reached for the suitcase carrying the bulkier (and, from another's view, more necessary) items, I heard a weird sound, sort of like a mix between someone sucking at an empty milkshake through a straw and a tone-deaf cat whistling. I looked over to tell whoever it was the shut the hell up, it was hurting my ears (well, ear), but instead I saw a swirling vortex suspended in midair. Before I could so much as reference a video game, a strong force pulled me in headfirst. I kept a death grip on my backpack with my robotic hand as I....uh...floated? I guess? It definitely wasn't flying, I know what that feels like and it's not whatever the portal was doing. It was kind of like being in a whirlpool in the middle of an airplane going through a lot of turbulence. (Not that that could ever happen. Well, probably.)

I shot out, headfirst again, skinning my chin painfully on metal. I cursed under my breath and got to my feet, brushing dirt and a little bit of blood off of my now annoyingly stained white hoodie.

Then I looked around and realized that I was in the middle of a busy road.

"Holy--!" I leapt out of the way as a sort of hovercar thing shot past me. I assume they were honking, but to me it just sounded like sirens in surround sound. After quite a bit of spinning, dodging, and diving, I remembered I could fly and activated the jets in my feet, which sent me spiraling into the air. After a moment I regained my balance and examined my surroundings. Wherever this was, it definitely wasn't from my time period, no matter how advanced my systems were. I noticed people were staring, though, so I lowered power until I landed gently on the sidewalk, saluted the crowd, and ducked into a nearby library. Maybe I could find out where I was from the librarian, or at least check out a book. When in Rome...

I stopped short once I entered the building, though. A girl in some kind of uniform was talking to what looked like a gray-skinned alien by one of the shelves. I hadn't seen anyone like him outside and could only guess that he wasn't from around here either.

"J0. You two. Is a sci-fi convention being held here or am I hallucinating?" I said quietly, nodding to the stern-looking librarian glaring at me from over the counter.

juton laughed a bit and said 'what if i told you came through a portal into this weird place' and then shaked the new persons hands then turned to axeka i guess we aren't the only two here

"That's what I thought." she said to Juton before turning to the new guy. "No, I have no idea what's happened but I do know we were al taken from our places by aa portal, and I must be getting back. I am Axeka Minoris, police of 2083." she explained and introduced. "I feel as though we should work together to escape this... place." she said. "But first, we need information." she turned and walked back into the library, and began grabbing a large number of history books.

Okay, so I knew one of their names and that we'd all gotten here through a...portal? Is that what that was? The Gwar-looking guy shook my hand and that was it, while the girl, Axeka, introduced herself and walked away.

For a second I stood there with my hand out, about to introduce myself, when I realized neither of them were even looking at me anymore and seemed to have moved on. Well then. I will remain anonymous if they really don't care.

While they dug through the masses of books, I went outside and fiddled with the antenna on my earpiece until I picked up an AM signal. It was a news station, and I stood there listening to the latest haps for about ten minutes while passerby glanced nervously at me and whispered to their friends.

From what I could tell, there was currently a mass war movement on the other side of the country, which seemed to be America, comfortingly enough. It seemed they were advocating war with China for taking work away from U.S. citizens with their cheap labor force and massive amounts of factories.

That didn't seem much different from before, but I noticed that no one was mentioning bombing or nuking China. All they talked about was sending an army of drones and hovertanks, which, from what I could gather, were nowhere near as destructive as nuclear explosions, even en masse.

I wondered about this until the program ended, at which point a man in a black uniform similar to Axeka's came up to me and grabbed my shoulder. "Sir, you're obstructing pedestrian traffic and appear to have illegal bodymods. I'm afraid I'm going to have to take you in for questioning."

I stared at him with a purposely blank expression for a moment before waving my hands in front of my face, murmuring "I am only a figment of your imagination," and sprinting back into the library. I don't know whether the cop believed me, but I heard him yelling and loud footsteps as I huddled behind a bookshelf near the doors, stifling laughter.

Axeka saw the guy run back in, and heard the sound of what seemed to be a cop. She sighed, they'd met only a minute before and he was already causing them possible trouble. She also noticed how he had his hand out and attempted to introduce himself. While grabbing books, she shouted over to him. "I'm not used to shaking hands. I'm used to quick introductions and then moving on." she explained. "And what's going on with the policeman?" she asked.

juton read about some china country declaring war on this america place [wow i am definitely not on my home planet] juton thought then he noticed thing weird at a window

then all of a sudden it explodes sending juton flying into a nearby bookshelf and everything was covered in smoke from the explosion then 20 people in futuristic armor [chinese soldiers] slowly walked through each one of them taking cover under a fallen bookshelf or shooting random citizens juton noticing this yelled out 'uh i think its time to go!' and ran out the door just as someone infront of him got shot in the face [the librarian]

I peaked around the bookshelf; it looked like the cop had just glanced around and left. The other police chick was talking to me again; I hadn't exactly talked to many girls, there weren't many female soldiers or scientists at the base for some reason. "Apparently I have 'illegal bodymods'. So I'm already a wanted criminal here." Joy. "Did the first thing I could think of to distract him and get away, which in this case was telling him he was having a dream. I guess that didn't work."

I went over to look at the books Axeka was carefully selecting and grabbed one at random, flipping to the table of contents. "I heard something interesting on the radio, though. America -- this country, 'case you're from somewhere way out there -- may go to war with China -- another country -- soon. There have been demonstrations trying to convince the government to do so. Also, it doesn't look like this world has nuclear bombs. Could be interesting." The book didn't appear to contain much I didn't learn in school, but I noticed the Cold War was missing and everything sort of dropped off from the usual after World War I. "Anyway, I'm Ken. Nice to meet you, I suppose."

I dropped the book back on her little stack and grinned when suddenly the wall exploded behind us, Asian-looking soldiers busting their way in. They immediately began shooting, and I jumped between them and Axeka, raising my robot arm, palm wide. It glowed for a moment before emitting a short, round blast of light, which I aimed at the most exposed soldier. His gun went flying out of his hands and we went sprawling back, a large burn mark on his chest. "The hell?! Okay, so apparently that war I mentioned has begun!"

I grabbed Axeka by the collar and pulled her towards the door, hand up threateningly, warning off any more attacks. "Hold onto those books, they might come in handy."

Axeka let the book fall onto her pile as ken introduced himself. she continued flipping and adding books, when suddenly Chinese soldiers came and started shooting people. she was glad she was a cop. she took out a storage device from 2082, and the way it worked was that it had infinite space insisde of it, so she stored the books in, and put it away. she took out her laser pistol and took his hand off her collar, and got up and began shooting some of them. she went back behind cover when they fired back. "We need to run way. There's too many of them." she said worridly, as she jumped up and ran away from the soldiers. she grabbed the bookshelf and knocked it over, deflecting some of the bullets. She ran behind cover again as they pursued.

juton grabbed one of the books and turned around to face a chinese soldier.before the soldier could do anything juton threw a book at his face giving him a bloody nose and falling down juton ran over and quickly tried to grab the gun but the soldier held on to it,trying to get the gun juton kicked the soldier in the stomach then took the gun away from him shot him clean in the brain,then he turns around to two other soldiers behind ken 'hey Robo dude! duck!' juton yelled then aimed at the soldiers behind him

"I may resemble that remark, but I resent it as well!" I ducked anyway, though, sticking a leg out to trip another soldier as he ran past. "I happen to be a highly complicated fusion of advanced mechanical breakthroughs and human biology. I am not a robot." After he shot them, I stood up again and kicked the down soldier in the side. "She's right, we should get out of here. I'll clear a path!" My palm glowing again, I started blasting away at the soldiers by the door. With my other hand, I pulled books off a nearby shelf, throwing them at the other soldiers that came a little too close for my liking or pointed their guns at me. I laughed a little hysterically, muttering "This place is awesome! Knowledge really is power!"

Axeka took out her storage cube as the soldiers marched, and pushed a button on it that materialized a police hovercar infront of her. she opened the door to the front, and drove over to the other two. "Hop in!" she shouted as she unlocked the doors closest to each of them.

Juton shoots a nearby soldier in the head causing his head to explode into a million pieces then slowly walked back shooting 3 soldiers as he walked back into the weird machine [hovercar] then he smacked a soldier in the stomach with his gun then opened the front door then got into the car while shooting a soldier in the stomach making him fall down on another dead soldier creating a tiny pile.he shut the door to the machine while yelling 'Cmon Robo! i'll cover ya' then smashes the a glass case [window] and shot a soldier in the head behind ken

"Gshkjsadosiof......" I ran my hands through my hair, making it stick up in a colorful mess as I grumbled under my breath. "Fine. Just fine." Climbing into the vehicle, I smoothed my hair back down and tried not to look at the bloody mess the Gwar was making. I closed the door behind me and locked it, looking over the seat in front of me at Axeka. "So, where to? They probably won't follow us, but the cops are gonna want statements. And I don't want to be arrested today."

Axeka made the hovercar go, and flew away from the invading soldiers. She made it could at top speed, quickly arriving at where her home would be in her universe. It was a little to the left of where it was normally and a lot of the colors were switched, but it was definately the same building. One thing that confused her was the fact that Garden Gnomes were everywhere. "Let's see if we can find eachother in this universe." she said as she landed the hovercar and opened the doors, and got out, then began walking to the house. She opeed the door, walked in, and found herself watching what seemed to be a TV, but it was floating, and showing what seemed to be a cartoon, and was relatively like most of their universe's cartoons, but it was a show that was not apart of their universe. Scattered across the room, there were Garden Gnomes, that just stood there. Whenever she blinked, they moved. Creepy, but it must've been a pet of this universe, and she must've been the 'crazy cat lady' of this universe. she approached the lady, and stood firm. "Mam?" she asked, and then the lady turned her heads toard her. She looked almost exactly like her, but a little older. "Yes?" she asked.

Juton stepped out of the hovermachinethingy and looked around 'god this place is futuristic' he said to ken 'back in my universe we only have muskets and horses' he replied right after then walked towards the door and looked throught seeing axeka talking to her look alike, so not wanting to interrupt them he stood by the door and waited

"Challenge accepted. But, you know, if the invention of nukes didn't happened, who knows what else could've changed. For all we know, we potentially could have never been born here. So maybe we should find something more....productive..." When she pulled up in front of creepy house, got out, and immediately started talking to someone who looked exactly like her, I bit my lip. "Well, that seemed a little too easy."

Gwar dude was talking to me. "Muskets? And horses? I'm actually impressed you have those on whatever planet you're from, since I seriously doubt horses could have evolved there, much less that an entirely different civilization could come up with muskets identical to Earth weapons. I guess I should give your race some credit."
