"Well why don't you and one of your friends demonstrate this game you all think is so great it warrants taking time away from class" the teacher says. "But be warned Kagame if the class isn't pleased you all will get detention. "
"Y-yes ma'am" Kagame says standings and walking to the desk with a fellow classmate.
"Well for starters each player has a deck of exactly 50 cards. Then they choose a grade 0 unit from within that deck and places it on the red Vanguard circle face-down." He says his confidence building. "Next we each drawfive cards. If we dont like the cards in our hands we can shuffle any number of them back into our decks but if we don't like that hand we are stuck with what we have." He said starting to smile. "Now after everything is set up we both turn our vanguard face up at the same time and say Stand Up Vanguard! " with a flick of his wrist he turns over the card grinning. "My starting Vanguard is Crimson Lion Cub Kryph. Since im supposed to teach the class I'll go first. I draw. Now before we get too far lets try and imagine something. Both of our spirits have been projected onto a planet called Cray. On this planet we have two powers the first is the power to ride or take over units they become your vanguard. Next is the ability to call units to battle alongside your vanguard. The goal is to deal six damage to your opponents vanguard. The first vanguard to have taken six damage has their spirit removed from Cray. Now lets get back to the game, I ride Knight of Elegant Skills Gareth! " he says laying the card down over the previous vanguard. "And I call a second Gareth behind it. Since I went first I can't attack." He said smiling and looking over to his friend who commonly used a royal Paladin deck be for looking to the teacher and the class all of whom were smiling. After his friend had played he smiledagain.
"Okay I draw. Now I ride Knight of Passion Badgemagus. And call Sacred Guardian Beast Neamian Lion and Sleygal Dagger to rear guard. This is where the fun begins boosted by Sleygal Dagger Badgemagus attacks my opponents vanguard. If he wanted he could guard but of course he won't this time si I move on to a Drive Check. By pulling the top card of my deck and looking for a mark in the top right hand corner. ..bang Critical trigger both effects go to my vanguard and my opponent now does two Damage Checks." Kagame said beaming as the teacher stood and walked to them both.
"I've seen enough tge class seems entertained and admittedly this is an intriguing game so you avoid detention on the condition that you teach me how to play." She said smiling warmly as the boys packed up their cards.
"You've got a deal." Kagame said moving back to his seat and listening for the bell. He knew this game should bring new players to the shop he went to Cardtopia and as the bell rang he stood and smiled to the class.
"Hey guys if anyone else wants to learn Vanguard you can find us at Cardtopia after school." He shouted over the noise as he headed out the door.
